This is a fun little series. Lighthearted.
Although each book has different mysteries, the characters slowly develop throughout the books. Almost too slowly though. Sometimes I feel like I need more in the character development. I do like how new characters get introduced. There are hints of them previously, and they don't feel like they just pop in with the next book.
I like the cat, Belladonna. I do think she was a bit ignored in the first book, and took on more of a main character in the second and third. She obviously has a secret and I can't wait to uncover who she is.
The plots transpire at a nice pace. I don't feel like there is too much nonsense, and it flows well. Each book continues on from the last, but when one finishes, it's not a cliff-hanger. You can't wait to read the next one, but you don't feel like you need to finish the story.
The books are suspenseful and mysterious. You're trying to solve the mystery along with the girls. The romance in the books take place almost in the background and is not in your face.
There are a couple editing faux pas which made me twitch.

The books are set in Noquitt, Maine the home of 4 sisters Fiona (a gemologist and jewellery designer) and Morgan (an apothecary) who work in their shop Sticks & Stones, Celeste (runs a yoga studio) and Jolene (the youngest is a waitress/student). They live in a 300 year old 24 room mansion overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
Book 1: Dead Wrong
Morgan is arrested on suspicion of the murder of Prudence Littlefield, a local busybody with whom Morgan had ‘words’ just that morning but it seems half the town of Noquitt wasn’t over fond of Prudence so there are no shortage of suspects. Fiona joins forces with newly arrived police officer Jake Cooper to investigate.
Book 2: Dead & Buried
Morgan discovers a dead man on the rocks on the cliff with a black mark on his hand - are pirates making a comeback in Noquitt? And Sheriff Overton continues his harassment convinced the girls are up to no good again.
Book 3: Dead Tide
The Blackmoore Sisters hire an historian to research one of their ancestors but matters take an unexpected turn where he keels over and dies from a heart attack. Their nemesis Sheriff Overton is immediately suspicious and starts pointing fingers.
With cozy mysteries you can’t take them too seriously they are fluffy and fun to read and this fits that category. Although I would appreciate it if the author could cut back on the clenching, lurching and jerking that the girls’ hearts and stomachs do almost every couple of pages otherwise they’re going to need to see a doctor before long lol. Also if I can figure out the clues almost immediately these books aren’t exactly great for brain training! However, I will definitely be revisiting Noquitt in the near future.

Read all three . . . and I want to read more. The Blackmoore Sisters are fun, smart, and spunky. The story moves along at a quick pace and you can't put it down. Give the Blackmoore sisters a try!

I really enjoyed this boxed set of three novellas and plan to read the other books in this series.
Kept my interest, throughout. Drew me into the scenes very skillfully, and made me feel part of the story.
Well developed characters that I came to love(except for the hateful villain sheriff!)!

I was looking forward to these stories as fun little cozy mysteries, but found I was quickly disappointed. I kept getting distracted by randomly capitalized words, improper use of punctuation (especially apostrophes), and glaring grammatical errors. There is a lot of unexplored potential in the storylines and the character development is lackluster.
The sisters, or 'girls' as they are most often referred to, lack common sense, basic logic, and even average curiosity. When one sister starts to communicate with their dead grandmother, the remaining three just shrug it off. The same goes for when another sister heals overnight from a deep cut. These are just two of many situations that I think would warrant some follow up. I suspect this is done to keep the reader interested enough to continue the series, but it just makes the sisters seem oblivious and self-centered.
Furthering this, is the fact that when they either discover or witness a death, their reactions can be described often as blasé and at times callous. Then, when any of the sisters finds herself in a dangerous situation, her trepidation is almost always described in terms of something related to her pulse or heart. In fact, on a single page, one sister's heart stopped, crunched, and froze. I was surprised she lived to the next page.
As a side note, the author doesn't seem to know how trees grow. Which wouldn't be much of a problem except for the tree in question is important in Dead and Buried.

Dead Wrong (Blackmoore Sisters Mystery #1)
Reread #1 in the series since I picked up this 3-book collection. The four Blackmoore sisters live on a large waterside property in Noquitt, Maine. The house is mortgage free, but the taxes still loom. When one of the sisters, Morgan, is accused of (and arrested for) the murder of a local woman no one seems to like, the other sisters search their attic for something to pay the lawyer's retainer...and what they find is extraordinary. Hundreds of years of history is evident in that attic, and while fear has kept them from the attic until now, now they must delve into their history a bit to clear Morgan. Turns out the sisters have powers that have been dormant until now. Plus, Jake, a new policeman in town, seems keen to help and doesn't believe the corrupt sheriff is legit.
Dead & Buried (Blackmoore Sisters Mystery #2)
Morgan finds a dead body on the Blackmoore property...and she also thinks she keeps seeing her high school sweetheart, Luke Hunter, around town. But that can't be right. He joined the military 10 years ago, and she hasn't heard a peep from him since. The dead man turns out to be part of a treasure hunting team that will stop at nothing to get the clues they need from the Blackmoore family. So the sisters hit the attic again, this time picking up the travel journal and its accompanying cipher key text (a book of poetry). And Luke is back...but can Morgan trust him after all this time? Is he also a treasure hunter masquerading as a good guy? And was their ancestor, Isaiah, a pirate or the law-abiding sea merchant they've grown up thinking he was?
Dead Tide (Blackmoore Sisters Mystery #3)
Another dead person, this time the historian the sisters contracted to help decipher their ancestor Isaiah Blackmoore's journal. Right before he dies (literally--he's eating lunch with her and keels over of an apparent heart attack), he reveals that what he has found in the journal has both historical and financial significance. The sisters, of course, have to get the key book back, so they break into his office, break into his house, etc...not exactly on the right side of the law, but then again, the sheriff isn't on the right side of the law, either. Cal gets his character fleshed out in this one...his antique dealer expertise comes in handy, and he seems to have all the time in the world to help the sisters in their attic...well, one sister in particular. This entry in the series continues the treasure hunt, with more than just digging in this one. The sisters end up scuba diving their way to the long-lost treasure, with the help of Jake, Luke, and Cal.

I'd say more romance than mystery, but still a good read. Think of it as once big overarching mystery for the series and then a tiny mystery in each book. Seems like Dobbs is writing a book with each of the sisters as the protagonist to start, but then there are 8 books in the series, so I wonder what she does after four. Dobbs writes Belladonna (the cat) as just as strong a character as the sisters. Dobbs must have a cat of her own, as she gets the "cat-itude" spot-on. Definitely recommend reading them in order, probably close together unless your memory is better than mine. Each book gets better, with #3 a noticeable improvement on #1. #4 should be even better if Dobbs follows this path...

This was a fun read: the first three books in the Blackmoore Sisters Cozy Mysteries: "Dead Wrong," "Dead & Buried," and "Dead Tide Dead Wrong."
There are four Blackmoore sisters: Morgan w/ long, raven hair, who works w/ herbs; Fiona, w/ fiery red hair and a great knowledge of gems and stones, and how to use them; Celeste, a petite blonde yoga teacher whose meditative practices have allowed her to commune w/ ghosts; and Jolene, the youngest, w/ chocolate-colored hair and an ability to harness energy, which we don't see until the third book. Morgan and Fiona run a tea, herbs, and gemstone shop; Celeste runs a yoga studio, and Jolene just graduated from high school and is searching for her career. Each of

That's not how trees grow, Ms. Dobbs. Fun stories, anyway.

These are great books! The story builds from one book to another The sisters grow, change, and develop paranormal abilities along the way. The pacing is great and I found parts of it funny although I’m not sure others would. I would highly recommend this to anyone that loves cozy mysteries. Oh, and it has a cat. I love cats! She’s a smart cat! But This cat appears to be a little mystical herself.

Intriguing plot and prevailing female leads, which I will always be drawn to. But horrible, trite writing and insipid phrasing. C'mon, Ms. Dobbs, put just a little effort into it, or go take a class on how to take fiction writing to the next level... how to convey something without *actually* saying it. Your readers are smarter than you think and we don't need everything completely spelled out for us, fer cry hay.

Great Series
This is a great series about four sisters and their cat, all with paranormal powers. They live in a house that has been in their family for centuries. One of them seems to always be around when a murder has occurred and is a prime suspect for the sheriff. Hard to put down until the book is finished!

Fun trilogy for cozy mystery lovers
I got through this trilogy in a weekend, after starting it at the end of the summer and getting too busy to get back to it right away. Each book features a different Blackmoor sister, but the stories weave together. If you like cozy mysteries, this trilogy will keep you entertained.

Black more Sisters Cozy Mysteries 1-3
Four orphaned sisters and a cat, each with unique talents and always seem to be in the blame department of a murder. Romance blooms not so unexpectedly, the lawyer is a heroine that shows up timely, and the sheriff could be trying out for Dukes of Hazard. It all gels together positively.

I really enjoyed the 1st book dead wrong and was expecting to read more stories of the blackboard girls. But I was disappointed when I started reading book 2 it was like reading the 1st again read it any started book 3 it was 1 &2 repeated very disappointed.

Can't get enough
I was drawn into the story right away and had a hard time putting it down. The first one got me hooked and now I'm a fan of these stories, and keep going back for more. I highly recommend them for a day of reading.

Bought this bundle very cheaply for Kobo travel read. Award winning author? Please use a proofreader and editor! Grammar mistakes galore, poor vocabulary selection and corny plots. Criminals are constantly referred to as “bad guys”. Only jet lag could make this palatable ✈️😴

A decent read even though there was hardly any sex or magic haha. Definitely a YA series, I doubt I’ll read the rest of the series as not as action packed as I like. Worth the 5 stars though

Great series
This trilogy of the first three books about the blackmore sisters was fantastic, you have mystery, ghosts, a crooked sheriff wellbeing on mailing any of all of the sisters, romance and pirate treasure, what more could you want.

Three cute, quick reads. By the time I got to book three, I did find a few inconsistencies in the history/storyline and some editing errors. But for a quickly light read, I got what I wanted out of this series.

Kindle Unlimited, Leighann Dobbs writes under Leighann Dobbs, Annie Dobbs and (soon) L.A. Dobbs but her real name {not sure if she writes under that one} is Lee Dobbins, Hazel Martin Mysteries only one I found for this type with her, she has not made sure that terms used match the British terms as well as in other areas for that period of architecture and assorted styles.
The Notch Cozy Mystery Series {5 out as of this writing} and the Blackbore Sisters Cozy Mysteries are not on Kindle Unlimited which as said before about 1 & 7 {the only ones given free, sure would not have bought them} and ditto for Ghostly Paws which is 1 of 5 at this time but did get others free over time.
While some of her other books are Kindle Unlimited none of the Blackmoore Sisters Cozy Mysteries are which doesn't matter to me as read #1 and #7 and was way underwhelmed. The 'historical' ones are like that and so are the some of the non cozy mysteries and some of the sorta but not really mysteries because can't write, etc ad nauseum. The most any of them got was 2 changed to 1 for crap cozy, some get a 1 which means basically crappy soft porn 'romance' etc.
3 in Silver Hollow Paranormal Cozy Mystery Series so far which are on kindle unlimited, 3 in the Moosamuck Island Mysteries , 5 in the Mystic Notch Cozy Mysteries so far {not ku}, Blackmore Sisters has 7 {not ku}, Hazel Martin Mysteries only has 1 so far, Lexy Baker Cozy Mystery series 12 so far is on ku. Others.including Scandals and Spies Book series so far 4 which are basically romance soft core porn dreck but hey you can get them on ku. Witches of Hawthorne Grove 1 so far,Cevonne Bride of Oklahoma, Unexpected Series 4 so far ku.

Badly needs to proof things, it's messing up the flow of the book, which my computer reads to me, so that's bad. Copy/paste fill in the blank seems to be pretty much what she is doing in her books, which wouldn't be half as bad if the plots and ploys and actions were believable at all.Just change the name for a book and maybe change the series list under, and you are right back to copy paste same old same old.

I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 books and have ordered the next box set (#4-6). Can't wait to find out what the issue is with Overton and this family.
