"Welcome to the Omega Line. This is Dean. What can I do for you tonight?"
When alpha lawyer Jason decides to call the Omega Line one lonely night, he's immediately enchanted by the voice on the other end. Dean is charming and easy to talk to, and his sinfully sexy voice gives life to Jason's fantasies. Before long, he's making it a habit and--yeah, maybe falling for the guy a little. Or a lot. It seems like the feeling is mutual, but why is Dean holding back? Can Jason convince Dean to let go of his fears and let an alpha into his life?
This is a hot and steamy non-shifter alpha/omega gay romance with no cliffhangers, a HEA, knotting, and lots of dirty talk.
This is a steamy, fun novella about Jason, a lonely alpha lawyer who calls an omega hotline one night and reaches "Dean," who knows just how to rile him up. I typically get bored with phone sex, but the dirty talk in this one was damn hot.
I really liked Jason; he was a sweet alpha who could be all intense and possessive when he got turned on. Mark (his real name) was much more guarded, but when he went into omega heat—yowza!
I would have rated this one higher had it not been for the somewhat disappointing HFN epilogue.
There's not much substance in the way of a plot with this one but what you do get is very hot phone sex, a slow build up of attraction and a believable meeting of two men who have made an emotional connection.
Always reluctant to read omega stories because those eventually include mpreg which usually isn't my cup of tea I completely forgot that there is an AU where it's not necessary to be a shifter to feel heat and like to knot :)
That said I have to admit I enjoyed both stories of this book greatly and I don't even think of them as some kind of guilty pleasure. The guys were just so sweet that it made both stories nearly compelling and I could only make a stop at the end of each. Good for my sleep that both are short ones.
The only niggleing: both ends are only a half assessed HFN and left a lot to the imagination ... but if it wouldn't have stopped there we probably have gotten into mpreg and we're back on that cup of tea ...
Short and sweet story about Jason, a lawyer who doesn't have time to date, and Mark a phone sex operator. This mainly consists of them becoming friends with Jason continually calling Mark for sexual release, but over time they open up to each other and decide to meet. Writing was good, but HFN knocked off a star.
Casey Cameron has a way of making characters that you get very quickly attached to. It takes amazing skill to turn what is essentially a horny hook-up storyline into a tale of real connection and possibly love. And of course the sexy bits are mind-blowing!
I got a free copy of this book during a giveaway some months back, I finally got around to reading it and I'm so happy I did because once I started to read it, I couldn't put it down. Upon finishing it I felt the need to review it so I searched for it, but here's where things get a little tricky because although I really enjoyed it, looking at the price, $3.34 on Amazon, I don't feel it's a fair price due to the length of this work.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely, but not for that price because the story is good but not great. Both characters are very likeable. Jason is a busy lawyer who doesn't have time to go out looking for hookups, he ends up calling the Omega line instead. Mark aka Dean during work hours gave up his studies and has been working the sex hotline for years now.
Jason turns out to be a breath of fresh air for Mark, he is very different from his regulars or first-time customers, but Mark had a bad experience with a stalker some years back which makes him keep things at a distance. Jason makes him break a lot of his own rules with his kindness and the attention he gives him. Then a family situation forces Mark to fly back home and he's not looking forward to it, so much so that Jason notices and offers his support in the form of his phone number for Dean to call him if he needs it. Mark ends up calling though it kills him when Jason keeps calling him his work name instead of his real name. Some time passes and the phone calls through the hotline keep happening until Mark/Dean informs Jason he'll have a week off for his heat.
During his heat, Mark ends up calling Jason for help and several things happen that makes the lines between work and personal blur even more and that is ultimately what helps Jason come to a decision which he presents to Mark. It's not an ultimatum or anywhere close to that, he simply explains his reasons and I have to say, I agree with them. It's up to Mark if he wants to meet up with Jason or not. I can't say more or I'll give spoilers away but the thing is that their story ends too soon. I wanted to read more, I wanted to know what happens, how things work out. Don't get me wrong, what we get is really good, I just wanted more because the ending felt cut off abruptly.
Based on the length, the ending and the price (shown to me) I can't give it more than 3 stars.
Short, could've been a little longer, frankly. Or had the in-person meeting occur a little sooner in the word count. Enjoyable though. And it's been a long time since I've read a story with a protagonist working as on phone sex line. Never read that as part of a shifter, or in this case non-shifting, Alpha, Beta, Omega universe.
One lonely night Jason decided to make a call, one in which changed his life more than he could have even imagined. Jason thought this would have been a one-time thing just to blow off some steam but when Dean answered the phone Jason knew he had found the one. But how could he know this man on the other line could his mate, all Jason knew is he needed to make sure Dean is always happy and know that he is loved. He also had to convince Dean to give Jason a chance to be the alpha he never knew he needed. "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."
So hears the thing, I really liked both of these shorts but I feel really cheated over the fact that you get 2 short storys and neither feel completed and leave you asking is that it. I do understand that it's a short story but when I saw 105 pages I was lead to believe that the story I was reading Was longer then 59 pages and at least had an end or conclusion but instead I get 2 short that are both just left unfinished. I'm very glad I got this on KU and I didn't pay for this or I'd be really pissed.
Lonely alpha lawyer Jason calls the Omega Line where he begins a phone sex relationship with Dean (Mark). After weeks of phone sex, Jason wants their friendship & phone sex to move to a more serious relationship but Dean has big trust issues from a previous client stalking him.
This story is adorable and points and sexy at at others. Casey Cameron developed a strong relationship in a short time, offering these two men a good HEA. The bonus story was good too!
Short kind of fun read about a lonely alpha (wolf) and a phone sex omega. Lots of sex talk (obviously!), and some "real" sex. Ends in a HFN. My first book by this author, but not the last.
Two nice stories in one. New to me author, I'll definitely be reading more. Liked the relationship that developed in the first story and the heat in the bonus.
M/M A/O D/B Written with a Sizzling Pen. Holy hotness is what I've come to expect from this author and Casey Cameron delivers again. This is a M/M Alpha/Omega story of the connection between a too-busy-to-play alpha attorney Jason and a younger sex line worker aka Dean who is omega. Throughout the story, their connection is on the phone and their relationship develops to be perhaps a little more intimate than phone sex. This is a very erotic adventure of the mind but perhaps they could have more? Dean's real name is Mark and it is a sign that there is a real connection when he shares his personal life with Jason. Mark is wary as he has been stalked in the past and he is afraid to trust. This is M/M and A/O with a little cross-generational 'daddy' theme but the situation could be any relationship that begins this way...developed over time. Casey Cameron writes with a sizzling pen!
