Pocket Full of Tinder is, without a doubt, my favorite book in this series so far. Maybe because I’m a sucker for Ari and this book has a LOT of interaction between Onyx and my favorite demon with a heart of gold. Or maybe I just appreciated Onyx’s struggle to prove herself in this new, uncharted territory. Or maybe the two-year gap between books actually gave Archer some breathing room so she ...more

I'm still a fan of this series because I find it unique - I've never read another series quite like it in the sense that the main character is essentially kind of a litigator/prosecutor/executioner/judge (depending on the situation) for demons and much of the content actually revolves around real law school training. I have really liked Noon, the heroine, thus far. In fact, I liked most all of the characters and their interactions with each other. I never really felt like the villains g ...more

I desperately wanted this series to continue. At the end of White Heart of Justice, I felt a little bereft that the lives of these characters would stop there. Alas, the Gods of Fantasy must have heard my plea. Noon is back, and she's as amazing as ever.
Brilliantly narrated, this book is a magnificent fantasy novel because it has stamina in its pace, it's witty, it's romantic, and it's stimulating for the mind and conscience as well as the heart.

I have been waiting for ages to read this new installment of the Noon Onxy series and this book didn't disappoint. In this new adventure Noon, a Maegester-in-Training, is given the assignment of traveling to a remote outpost to help the New Demon patron of Rockthorn Gorge (Aristos-- Noon's former flame) build up his domain and protect the citizens from the zealous bomber Displodo who continuous actions threatens the construction of a new dam.

I very much enjoyed the first three books in the Noon Onyx series and have been looking forward to this new story for a while. I was definitely not disappointed, since this was another story that has it all, plenty of action, personal challenges, and working through relationships - both lovers and friends. Noon is on a new assignment, this time in the northern outpost of Rockthorn Gorge, where an insidious bomber is trying to stop the building of a dam, and every time he blows up the constructio

I loved it! It had so much I was expecting ((view spoiler) ) and so much I didn't but loved anyway.
My favourite thing about this series is how seriously it treats the heroine's journey and development, whilst balancing deep emotions of love, grief and anxiety.

I don't like what happened. It made me damn angry at the author. But it was generally well-written and I don't think I can claim low-rating vengeance for the authorial path veering off into a direction I did not want it to go.

I’m a fan of Jill Archer’s Noon Onyx series so I was a pretty disappointed when the publisher dropped the series after three books. Luckily for me, the author decided to self-publish a fourth book! I’ve had Pocket Full of Tinder in my to be read pile since it was released, but I’ve kept putting it off for some reason. I think I just didn’t want to read it if it may be the end. But according to Jill’s website a fifth book is in the works, so I have hope this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Noon!

This is a Novella of the Noon Onyx series. If you haven't read the previous installments of this series I urge you to read them, you won't be disappointed.
I love Jill's take on the paranormal world. I love the imagery her description is stunning and her characters are phenomenal.
There are so many elements in this book that I think just about anyone will find something to love about it. There's friendships, betrayals, some great action, redemption, love......

I really did want to like this. The world-setting has potential, and I really do like the idea of a world ruled by demons and in coordination with demon-descended humans (let's call them the Dark) as well as clerical/faith magic-workers previously allied with the Light. Two millennia after 'God' lost the war for mankind and the Earth, we are in a changed and dangerous land where for the most part humans are not at the top of the food chain. There are things that eat them to keep them humble and

I picked this series up on a whim and now the Author has a fan for life.
It may seem like a romance book at first but it's more like a self discovery adventure in an amazingly creative setting. The characters and world are intriguing and very well done.
Noon is very well written and executed. She can be clumsy and makes a ton of mistakes, yet she is still definitely powerful and capable. Both sides of her are brought out, making her relatable and endearing. Her journey is one of accepting the way ...more

I was happy to see this series continued, and I hope it continues from here!
I enjoyed this. Noon has to go take up her internship, and she knows Ari is her new patron. Though it's been a while since the last book, it didn't take long to get back into this and remember all the good Noon & Ari times.
But a thing happens, and Noon gets a little crazy for a while, and in the end she gets another unusual task as punishment - and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next! ...more

As if dealing with the repercussions that came with hunting down the White Heart Of Justice wasn’t enough, Noon now has to deal with her tenure as consigliere for the Patron of Rockthorn Gorge. Though she dreads the thought of what she’ll find there, she knows she can’t back down from the request for help that’s been made. Her curiosity about the Gorge’s patron grows by the day, causing her to make careful preparations for the trip at hand. What she’ll find there, no one truly knows. Nevertheles

I have just completed reading Jill Archer’s fourth book, POCKET FULL OF TINDER. It was all I hoped it would be and more. Noon Onyx, Maegester-in-Training, continues with her goal toward graduation from law school and her procurement of her first job as Maegester of Demon Law. Noon’s magic never ceases to surprise her in ways she never thought possible with creations of magnificent flying drakons and her ability to outwit her most dreaded adversaries. Throughout the book, Archer relates to previo

Likes: Once again we have a beautiful cover. I was so happy to see that there is very little repeat information in this installment. The characters still continue to grow, especially Noon who still has so much to learn about herself. This book is heartbreaking—you will have to read it to find out why—but it is also uplifting.

Initial Thoughts: I have waited with baited breath for this novel. I've been dying to know what happens next for Noon, with Ari, with all the characters including Nightshade, Noon's twin brother. This novel was a slow burn to that final defining moment (which I would LOVE to talk about but I don't want to spoil anyone) and then it takes a huge left turn. It was almost as if we were given the first part of the next novel. Though it was odd, there is still a huge cliffhanger ending. I eagerly anti

Thanks to an ARC, I was provided the opportunity to review this book. I hope to encourage others so that may witness Noon's story.
I have enjoyed following Noon on her adventures of self-acceptance and challenges to obtain confidence. How she has grown has been a great journey and those around her help her along the way, especially, as Ari has put it, she would be the Patron of Reluctance. I am not great at summarizing so I won't attempt to do so, but I will say that all that happens within this ...more

I love this series; I'm so glad the author decided to continue it by self-publishing. I really hope there are going to many more. Noon is a fantastic heroine- strong but flawed in perfect amounts. No annoyingly sassy sidekicks. Dark without being bleak. I need to go bug the author to see if/when more is coming.

I am really enjoying reading this series. I received a free copy from NetGalley for an honest review and I am glad I did. Jill Archer is a very good writer, I only wish I had this series in paperback. Really good.
