The 17th book in the spy, assassin, and art restorer Gabriel Allon series by author Daniel Silva and although I had only previously read 1 to 5 it did not spoil my enjoyment or understanding of this book.
Although my favourite and more regular genre is psychological thrillers I do like to mix my reading up a little with more action based novels such as Lee Child and Daniel Silva and I find this series a welcome change.

A horribly prescient act of terrorism in London gives this thriller currency as Gabriel Allon, now head of the Office, makes things personal as he sets up an elaborate operation to take down a terrorist leader.

Following last year’s bestselling novel The Black Widow, Daniel Silva picks up the story four months later with seventeenth Gabriel Allon novel, House of Spies.
Gabriel Allon, the wayward son of Israeli Intelligence who once served as the most lethal assassin in Israel’s arsenal, has now assumed the position of chief of the Office (the Mossad) after finally taking his long-awaited promotion.

Can it really be true that this the 17th book featuring Israeli secret agent Gabriel Allon? Pretty much from the beginning he has held the No. 1 spot on my list of favorite mystery/thriller "heroes." Every spring I start salivating in anticipation of a new installment, so of course I was delighted to get my hands on this one.

House of Spies is one of Daniel Silva’s finest works – and that’s really saying something. It follows the conclusion of Silva’s last book, in which Washington DC was devastated by an ISIS attack, with a string of ISIS attacks in London and Paris.
The Israeli spy and now chief of its intelligence service, Gabriel Allon, enlists the help of Christopher Keller in an elaborate plot to hunt down the man known as Saladin, an Iraqi who is responsible for planning and funding the attacks.

Maybe 3 stars because it's a reliable addition to the series. But as always with successful genre fiction, the Allon books have ossified into a series of set pieces. Same cast of characters, stories retold. They're curiously bloodless despite the body count; Allon is in a bombing in Paris, suffers major damage and the effect is no worse than a severe headache. Also, there is the familiar pattern of the creation of a deception operation that turns someone into a willing/ unwilling helper inside t

Daniel Silva's latest is right up to date with world happenings and Gabriel is drawn into the search for "Saladin" the leader and mind behind a series of disastrous ISIS terrorist attacks around the world. Connecting up with the French , English and finally the CIA anti-terrorist office he runs an operation to expose a major French drug dealer in an attempt to discover the name and location of "Saladin" in order to shut him down. Moving between Israel, France, England, Morocco and the US this is

Daniel Silva's "The Black Widow" was a hard-hitting work of fiction about how members of ISIS routinely slaughter men, women, and children in such countries as England, France, and Belgium. One of the terrorists' goals is to terrify and demoralize their adversaries. Silva's villain is Saladin, a shrewd strategist who believes that, by wreaking havoc in the west, he will unite his followers in a new Islamic caliphate. "House of Spies" is Silva's seventeenth novel in his popular series featuring G

My favorite heroes in action again! Each summer I eagerly await the next episode of Gabriel Allon and am never disappointed. I absolutely love the characters.....even the "bad" guys are intriguing.....and always get caught up in the endless action and intrigue. The only unfortunate part is that I can't stop reading, so I finish all too quickly, and then it's back to the real world where if such heroes exist, they are forced to remain anonymous. I hope Mr. Silva is already at work on next summer'

I enjoyed House Of Spies but I did have my reservations about it.
There is a lot to enjoy here. Daniel Silva creates a good story of terrorist atrocities and the subsequent joint operation between the Intelligence Agencies of Israel, Britain, France and the USA to locate and kill the jihadi mastermind behind them, with whom the main protagonist Gabriel Allon and his fellow Israeli agents have a lot of history. The detail and careful plotting hang together well, there is a convincing picture of th ...more

This is the 17th book in the Gabriel Allon series. The author has a formula, so while the reader dos not know exactly who will die and how, how the story proceeds is consistent. In this installment, ISIS terrorist Saladin is again the worst bad guy, but there are others. Some have to be encouraged to assist the good guys, i.e., the intelligence services of France, Great Britain, Israel, and the US. There is a new woman introduced who might appear again. A good storyteller lets you say ‘just one more chapter’. When you finish a book written by a great storyteller you say ‘when is the next one coming and why did I read this so fast?’ An exceptional story teller takes you seamlessly from one book in a series to the next one without ever missing a beat.

You would think that being the director Gabriel would stay in Israel, but that just isn't him. I was a bit surprised by some of the risks that Gabriel did take, but as the enemy was one that Gabriel has faced before I can see why made some of the choices he made.
I loved the personal relationships that popped up, that these people weren't just spies, but had lives that they took a chance to have more in their lives. I loved that Gabriel gave Keller some great advice, let's hope he takes it.

Typical Silva/Allon thriller. Procedural as Allon and his merry band follow the leads via trickery and interrogation chase a head of a terrorist organization. A continuation of Black Widow.
Nothing really special here. A well worn Silva/Allon formula. As novels go, Silva has done better work with the Allon character.

Po Czarnej wdowie, Dom szpiegów jest kolejnym doskonałym thrillerem szpiegowskim osadzonym w jak najbardziej aktualnych realiach.

July is pyrotechnics month for many, and I am not talking about the fireworks on the 4th because it is in July that the new Gabriel Allon book by Daniel Silva comes out, and his readers are always ready and waiting for a dazzling display of hair raising, eye opening adventures. This year is no exception. The House of Spies begins immediately, or perhaps shortly after The Black Widow ended and with an even greater catastrophe.

aka Gabriel Allon takes on Morocco.
the only down side of Daniel Silva’s release day is you know you’re 364 days from the next one. Did I mention I don’t do waiting?
There was a new President in Washington, but Saladin was still there and in Europe wreaking havoc wherever he and his disciples went. Finding and taking him down brought Allon and team to the south of France and Morocco. With the south of France of course comes the return of Christopher Keller.

It’s July again and that means the time has come for another Gabriel Allon adventure from the #1 New York Times Best-selling and award-winning thriller author Daniel Silva. This year’s book is the 17th in this amazing series of thrillers and it’s called House of Spies.

I was so excited to receive House Of Spies, the latest Daniel Silva spy thriller from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I discovered this series about 6 years ago and always read the latest installment about Israeli agent Gabriel Allon. Having read all the recent books I went back and read all the earlier ones keen to learn more about Gabriel's earlier life. Daniel Silva, with the assistance of cast members Gabriel Allon, Ari Sharon, Uzi Navot, and Chiara, is the master of Mossad. His 19 novels (17 Gabriel Allon) have brought much enjoyment to this reader. Like Jeffrey Archer, Daniel Silva is a great story-teller. His characters are well-defined, believable human beings, ones I look forward to meeting again and again. They are not super heros like Mitch Rapp, Kirk McGarvey and Scott Harvarth. Rather they are dedicated, intelligent Israelis determine

One of the best of the series. Everything tightly wrapped and tense. I would like more of Chiara (such a beautiful name) but I do NOT want her getting into the action ; far too upsetting. For fans of Christopher Keller this was pure drama and a gentle hint there may be romance in his future hopefully. I still wish Gabriel could do a bit of Art Restoring (or even painting). He needs a touch of downtime - even if it only works as a cover to get him somewhere else. As for the Office for God's sake

Every June I look forward to the end of school and the anticipation of my new Gabriel Allon book arriving in my Kindle. This years version, House Spies was even better than I had anticipated. If you remember last years edition, the worst terrorist in the world, Saladin, had just committed a major attack on US Intelligence personnel and buildings in and around Washington D.C. Gabriel Allon is now chief of the Office, Israeli Intelligence. This does not prevent him from taking a hands on approach
