I haven't had much luck finding needle felting books with a lot of patterns to my liking, but Sachiko Susa is two for two! Some of the patterns are really cute and I can't wait to try them out, like the German castle and teddy bear, the panda, and the gorgeous elephant. Other patterns seem rather uninspired--particularly France, England, and the USA, but then all of those patterns are small objects for a keychain or jewelry and I prefer little toys or figurines. All up to personal preference, though. Definitely for the needle felter with some experience.

As far as countries below the equator go, only Australia and New Zealand are present. There are no patterns for countries on the continents of Africa or South America.

I did not like this book. While the items were cute for each country shown and the photographs are beautiful, I was not a fan of what seemed like black and white illustrations at the second half of the book. I would have preferred actual photographs of those and each step on how to make the item. For example, on the bunny page, they go from a bunny head to a full body bunny fully assembled and then end with a bunny with a shirt. But how did they make and attach the shirt to the bunny? How did they assemble the bunny? I like to see the in-between steps and this book was just not for me. While the steps were written down verbally, I learn through seeing how each step is made and I didn't see that in this book.
