Lucien, or Luc to those who know him, didn't want to be brought back into the world he left behind centuries ago. As the sapphire dragon, with incredible powers unlike any of the other awakened dragons, he is needed to protect humans in the modern world. But he tried that once and it almost broke him apart. All he wants is to go back into ice, until he meets a kind curvy woman who rekindles the spark of hope within him, and ignites a passion he has never felt before.
Hallie knows exactly how unfair life can be sometimes, but she tries to focus on the positive in life. Like her work helping people and animals at an animal shelter. Still, she never expected a god-like, tall, amazingly gorgeous man to walk into her shelter and say he wants to volunteer, and then admit that he just wanted an excuse to get to know her. It seems too good to be true, other than the fact that Luc seems to be hiding secrets behind his dazzling sapphire eyes.
As Hallie and Luc's curious courtship turns into a heated, passionate romance, Hallie is seeing more and more signs that her overprotective, supernaturally powerful lover might not be what he appears. And Luc is trying to decide if he can awaken the good in him enough to deserve the only woman who has made him feel alive. But to do that he may have to face monsters from his past, including the one inside himself.
Warning: contains ferocious dragons, fearsome fights, fiery love scenes and a sweet hairless cat that will steal your heart. The second book in a brand new series with dragons unlike anything Terry has written!
Terry is the author of over forty bestselling shifter romances. She spends her spare time dreaming of dragons, playing with her pets, and watching sunsets from her home in the mountains alongside her husband (who she suspects would make a great bear shifter). She loves the wild outdoors, her fans, all readers, and getting lost in a great book.

The Oracle sends the ancient immortal dragon, "Sapphire Dragon" aka Luc to the leader of the awakened dragons - Zach (Isaac Morningstar III) and his mate, Erin to help him learn the ways of modern mankind. Luc, a healer and also able to make it rain literally was fighting past demons and as Erin said he was going through bouts of depression until they take him to an animal shelter in search of his own pet because Zach was not about to share Bo with Luc (lol). He connects instantly to a dying cat name Bastien and a curvy worker, Hallie who before long he knows she's the one--- his mate. And luckily Luc had Zach and Erin to help him with modern day dating, clothing selections and instructions/directions on utilizing he cell and creating good text messages.
As in the "Onyx Dragon" I loved the connections between the H/h whereas even in the ancient world, Luc already understood humans but it took one bad act to mean humans to make him cold to living but the pain that Hallie endured brought him back to his former self-- the good and caring dragon who loved healing and helping others be it dragons or humans, etc. So Luc's collar was around his neck to protect him from injuring himself not others as Zach (Onyx Dragon).
Read this gem(lol) and see how Luc and Hallie discovered that the past can be altered with a positive mate, friends and cats!
Oh yes the evil, Aegis aka Emerald is back to his dirty tricks!
Pretty good read. Nothing overtly exciting, book one set the flow for this one. The storylines both follow the same flow, but the building story is in there...hopefully as the series progresses we will get more of the antagonist. I love the dragons, but I'm worried it's going to become monotonous if the plots are the same with minor tweaks.
Lucien, Second of the Gem Dragons to be awakened and deeply sad and disturbed about his past. The Oracle, again, wants this dragon also, to care for and feel for humanity and overcome his anger and disappointment in himself. Resistance is strong until he starts falling for Hallie. Touching story, steamy and engrossing.
I enjoyed this one. It's a nice quick read with a short climax. I wish the climax was a bit more substantive but the story was enjoyable in spite of that fact.
Luc, the sapphire dragon, has been awakened much to his dismay as he doesn't want to care about people again. He was the one dragon who really cared about humans and it didn't go well. But that changes when Zach takes him to the animal shelter where he sees Hallie and meets a dying cat. Luc offers to be a volunteer she's later surprised to learn that he did so to be close to her. Luc and Hallie develop a friendship that blossoms but Luc has a dark secret and that may come between them.
I thought a little more world building would happen but I was left with more questions than I had from book 1.
The h accepted his vague excuses then fools around with him then he has more vague excuses for not continuing THEN he leaves through the window. This is where I jumped ship, I just can't with this girl who doesn't question a dude that would be a red flag IRL
Everything feels so lukewarm in the series. I mean even the villain isn't very villainy. Everything's like mashed potatoes, yum but missing the spice of life. Next book, Ruby, you better bring the heat!
P.S. I do love the boyish cuteness to the guys though :D
I liked this one better than the Onyx Dragon. This had the intro into how Luc/Sapphire had come to become who he was and how he had come to hate humans. It's kind of adorable how he decides to become a volunteer at the animal shelter and lend his powers of healing just so he could heal (and even get closer to) both Hallie and Bastien. How Luc and Hallie met was disappointingly predictable though--him feeling like someone was in pain, finding out it was Hallie, wanting to ease that pain for her, etc. But it was fun to see the back and forth banter between Luc and Hallie (not to mention how Zach literally punched some sense into Luc about his mate). Even though it had no connection to Luc and Hallie's story, I also loved how Zach slammed the door on Red/Ruby's face towards the end. With how Zach reacted seeing him at the door, I am definitely looking forward to Red/Ruby's story and how much it would differ from the first 2 stories.
Sometimes to care and love is the most dangerous and scariest emotions that we have. The sapphire dragon Luc has been awaken to join the onyx dragon Zach and his mate Erin. The Oracle believes that Luc is a pivotal dragon in their mission to help humanity, but the sapphire dragon is not the same dragon Zach used to respect and admire. Can Luc overcome what haunts him? And forgive himself? Will a trip to the shelter to find Luc his own Bo prove to be the magic turning point for the seemingly broken dragon? After all the beautiful and positive (despite her own pain) Hallie is the one behind the counter when they arrive. Who better to show Luc that there are still humans worth saving? I absolutely loved Luc and Hallie's story. Plus when these big strong dragons are turned into mushy mountains at the sight of little kittens, is too adorable!
Lucian is a sapphire dragon with healing powers, awakened to help against evil shifter threatening human kind. The Oracle send him to Zach, the Onyx dragon, to help him navigate on the modern world. And the first step is to get a cat! He decides to volunteer in a animal shelter where he don't only bonds to a dying cat but meets his fated mate. Hallie is a soft hearted human that loves animals and has a happy disposition but unknown to most she is battling chronic pain from a passed accident. She is chock that such a hot and sexy man is actually interested in her and even though she wants to trust him ,she knows he is keeping secrets. This was a great story packed with action and romance. Highly recommended
I started reading Terry Bolryder with the Rent-a-Dragon series but before finishing, I jumped over to Awakened Dragons because of the synopsis I read of Onyx and then at the end of that story Sapphire is introduced. Just had to read him immediately!
Loving all the male MC's in both dragon series and the female MC's...who cares, they are not part of my fantasy reads. (te he) This story so far tops as my favourite.
A wee taste ''Dragons could be invisible as needed, but sometimes, if someone looked in the right spot, they could see something shimmering in the air...''
This is another great story sapphire dragon is the second book in the series but you can read any one in the series as there standalone novels too this concentrates on luc and Hallie ,luc wakes up from his slumber and has to find a way to love humans so he can get his powers back but before that he has to learn to forgive himself ... Its a great read if you liked paranormal romance then these books are just what you should read I could not put this book down its got action , romance and happy ending can't wait to read book 3 .
Fun characters, interesting world, fabulous chemistry. I'd read Onyx Dragon prior to this and have read many of her other books since. I'm trying to get my GoodReads lists organized, though, and this one's getting a few words because it's one of my favorites and even now I recall it standing out. It has a healer hero, a heroine with chronic pain, and a touching subplot with a shelter kitty. Need I say more? Go. Click. Buy it now. *laughs*
This is like nearly every other shifter book I've read, but I'm okay with it. There's something comforting about knowing they will work it out after whatever conflict, and have their HEA. I did more research on this author and I am thrilled by how many books there are. I'm definitely getting my money's worth out of my KU subscription.
Blue has always been a favorite color so I do like sapphires. Now sapphire dragons? Totally hot! Talk about brooding! Luc can give some lessons. Good thing he found a saint of a mate who can deal with him spending more time brooding than doing the talking he needs to do. I look forward to finding out who is holding Emerald's lease.
Really enjoyed this book and the storyline, loving this series so far, already looking forward to reading Ruby’s book, loved his introduction in this book.
Spoiler: the only thing I didn’t get was in book one the dragons ring stopped other dragons powers from working on the mates, yet in this book, Hallie was mind controlled by Emerald while wearing the ring…

Luc, the Saffire Dragon, has spiritual and emotional wounds from a horrific experience which left him angry and suicidal. Hallie runs an animal shelter. She is a beautiful, loving, curvy woman who refuses to let intense chronic pain stop her from having a full life. The two come together and find the path to healing and enduring passion.
This series so far is a bit meh :( The plots are very wishy washy and lack any depth. Everything is a bit vanilla, no real tension (not even in the bed room really). I have the Red Dragon to read but am not feeling any great pull to start it.
This series is just so cute. It's much different from Damon's mountains and her other series. Instill like it and it makes me smile through the while book. That's very nice.
This was a good addition to the series. It was fast paced, touching, sweet, a dash of drama/angst, and some action. I like reading about the dragon's past and abilities. Now on to book 3!
