Seize the Moment
During the first few Solomon chapters, I had a hard time figuring where this was going and once it did, I couldn't stop the tears. There is so much raw emotion in this storyline and the characters so easy to love. Logan is so full of fire in her passion for soccer and her family. Meeting Solomon at Xavier University helps to fill in any missing pieces of her life and the same goes for how Solomon feels about her. They strive for excellence and excel in their respective sports. What a fabulous book to go along with the timing of 2016 Olympics in Rio! Recommended read! Received an ARC for an honest review.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I have no idea where to start! I love this book for so many different reasons. First, the cover is hot enough to melt the glass on my tablet. I identified so closely with Logan's character as a daddy's girl who lost her dad sooner than she expected. Solomon had such an amazing journey to discover the beautiful parts of him as an American and a Fijian. I couldn't imagine a better ending for the both of them. I will have to pay special attention to judo in this year's games.

An ARC was provided by the author for an honest review, and honestly... this book is a definite winner! This is one book that once you start reading, you won't want to put it down. Fury is an outstanding read of heartbreak, tragedy, angst, passion, heart stopping emotions, romance, and lots of sex (it is the Olympics) . The setting was great, the story flowed smoothly, and the author created characters that are intriguing and you couldn't help but love.

What started out as a tragedy for 2 lovers and their families in 90's Fiji, created a child who was cut out of his drowning mother's womb. The child was named Solomon Kano and spent the first 13 years of life on Fiji, not knowing the truth of his birth. Another loving couple, in Ohio, one a professional baseball player, the other a basketball player were dealing with their own tragedies at the same time. They finally carried a baby to term after multiple miscarriages, she was named Logan Lowery. Logan was to be their only child, and played all sports with agility and grace, but choosing soccer as her life.
Solomon was told of his birth and loss of both parents, his father's parents and his mother's uncle to a terrible storm, a boat coming upon his drowning mother, her only words were to tell them to save her baby. He was named Solomon for the man who cut him from her womb. He found out he had an uncle living in America and contacted him. His uncle felt alone for so long he gladly allowed Solomon to live with him and taught him judoka.
Solomon and Logan met in college, she was on the college soccer team, while Solomon belonged to the judoka club. They became friends from running together and pushing to see who could outrun the other. They started casually dating, when in the middle of the night he got a frantic call from Logan telling him her father just died from the stage four cancer that he had just contracted. He drove her all the way home and stayed with her and her mother right up to after the funeral.
When second term started, Logan returned to school and they became lovers. They both promised her father they would fight as hard as possible and make it to the Rio Olympics and win.
Solomon had no chance to get on the US judoka team, but he was able to compete for Fiji, While Logan earned a spot on the US women's soccer team. They can never keep their hands off each other and never used protection, but were lucky. Logan heart broken, told Solomon they needed to stop seeing each other until after the Olympics. They both needed the time to focus totally on their sports, but thought of each other all the time.
Will either of them win a medal, and will they still be so much in love after being apart for months?

2 1/2 Stars
First I hat this style of writing and I think that skewed things for me to begin with. I struggled through the first 40% of the book arguing with myself not to put it down and give it a chance. In the end I'm glad I didn't give up because I liked the plot of the book.
Second despite liking the plot of the book I still had a hard time getting into the book because of the style of reading and spent the last 50% of the book skimming the chapters.
Third had the writing been different I think I would have really loved this story.
Plus my pet peeve is getting your social media/internet references right. The author notes a Facebook message on 2007. This wouldn't have happened. It would have been MySpace as that was the popular site at the time and FB didn't pick up popularity until 2008-09. Yes FB was around in 07 but most people were still on MySpace.

When I started to read this book, I wasn't sure that I was going to like it; which was surprising to me because I love Alison Ryan's books. There is a lot of information at the start and all of it will become relevant to the story as you continue reading. This book brought tears to my eyes, put a smile on my face, had me laughing, furrowing my brow in annoyance and reading with fervor! Although this was a love story with a HEA it was also about not taking things for granted and never giving up on your dreams...lessons to live your life by. It was a quick and enjoyable read and I can't wait for Alison Ryan's next book! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review and originally posted this on another website on August 10, 2016.

DNF. I couldn't finish this book. The first 25% at least was spent talking about their parents and how Logan and Solomon became to be. Took to long to get into their story.

Love that this book covered the passage of time starting with how the main characters came into the world. Heart, courage and resilience with some steamy scenes made for a great read.

I always know that when I pick up an Alison Ryan book that I will not be disappointed. This book is no exception. What a great way to get in the spirit for the Olympics. This is a wonderful story that drew me in right from the beginning. As other's have said, the first chapters set the stage and help establish these characters. This story is full of emotion and terrific characters that readers will become attached to. If you haven't read a book by this author I would suggest you try one today. What you will get will be a well written story that takes you on an emotional journey with characters that you will be sad to say goodbye to because you will have grown to love them.

This is my first book by Alison Ryan and Fury is Book 1 of the Alphas and Athletes series. I was first attracted to the cover, I mean, hey! Then I read the 'blurb' and thought this would be a unique story .. and it was. This book has a complicated but very compelling story right from the first few lines. I felt a little upset as I read through the first few chapters which explains Solomon and Logan's story. I cried, I laughed and cheered for this couple. Both suffered tragic pasts and both have this amazing fight and determination in common. Alison did such a great job with these very real characters. the story flows easily and it was a great read. I volunteered my review for an ARC copy but I also loved it enough to buy as well. Great job! 5 big stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book could have been so cheesy. When I first read about the book, I was unsure if I wanted to get it because of how cheesy it sounded. But the book was free, so I took the chance. I'm really glad I did.
The author's writing is good. The characters were well developed. Both of the main characters are strong personalities with their own motivations. The romance between them seemed a little forced, but that is to be expected. (Better than the typical "I hate you, I hate you, I love you.") The sexual encounters are well written - not fade-to-black, but not in-depth porn.
Overall, this is a really good book.

Full of love
The whole book is full of love, romance and friendship. It is sad to read about Solomon's parents, but the love they had and the love from the rest of his family is great.
Logan and her parents were wonderful. I loved all the emotions and honesty with them. Her father was great.
The relationship between Logan and Solomon is great. They want each other, they do what they can for each other and regardless of what they think they should, they want each other more. They really are a fun and loving couple.

Emotional Read!
I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. Wow! I had every imaginable emotion reading this book. The awful heartbreak, the love story of Logan and Soloman, the excitement of the sports, and the glory of the Olympics! Alison Ryan did it again with an amazing read.

This book is my new favorite! I laughed, I cried, I rooted them on, and cried some more! Fury has everything you want in a great book, and it's about the Olympics, so you KNOW it's good. I think this is Alison Ryan's best book so far. I can't tell you how much I loved this book. Guaranteed great summer read!

I loved this book. It is well written. It has a smooth flow. It is very descriptive, it makes you feel like you are there with them. This book takes you thru many emotions. Their story is one of love and determination. I am voluntarily leaving a review of this book after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. You will not be disappointed.

Adorable
I liked that story begun with their parents meeting and how the characters came to be. Books don't really do that anymore. The plot itself moved along well enough. Can't wait for Ryan's next book.

Could finish it, but there were few things I liked. Went into it because it was for free and I was on a Rio Olympic high but I was a bit dissapointed. Alhough I wasn't really expecting anything from it so I can't complain...

Normally I don't read sports associated stories but I'm glad I did now.
It is full of humor and also tragedy.
Reading this feels like going through a rollercoaster of emotions, but in a good way, not terrifying.

I liked the story but it took too long to start. There was way too much back story about both of the main characters' parents. There just didn't seem to be enough time spent on them as a couple.

This was told in a different style of writing than I'm used to, so took me a bit to get into that style. The story was very clean, no angst, but plenty of storyline.
