Crossing Hearts is book one in the Cross Creek series by Kimberly Kincaid. This is such a wonderful story of getting a second chance at love. And the setting is in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.

Emerson Montgomery never planned to return to the small town of Millhaven where she grew up. But circumstances in her life chose otherwise. She’s been gone twelve years and had a lucrative job she loved as a physical therapist for a pro-football team. But after receiving the life altering n

Hello, reader friends!

I am beyond thrilled to begin the Cross Creek series with Crossing Hearts. The rugged, sexy Cross brothers like to work hard, play hard, and lucky us--we get to see them fall hard :) If you like small town charm mixed with big time sizzle, salt-of-the-earth heroes and feisty, fun heroines, you're in the right place.

Grab a seat in your favorite reading spot, and get ready to visit Cross Creek! See you there!

B club listen. I have mixed feelings about it.
It was a feel good book, with a HEA. So I can’t help but like that.

Hunter is a character I liked and I didn’t. I think I felt like the woe is me kind of fella, he does get better as the book goes along.

Emerson, I liked her spunk and her determination but I have to say I didn’t like that she fought soooooooo hard to hide. I mean if that had been a patient of hers she would have put her foot down and t
Three and a half stars.

Emerson Montgomery has returned to her hometown of Millhaven after vowing never to return. She's left behind her prestigious job as a physical therapist to the Las Vegas Viking football team and her star running back boyfriend Lance Devlin. Emerson has returned to her hometown and her overbearing parents because she is sick, her exact diagnosis is not revealed for a while so I won't spoiler it, but she doesn't want anyone to know. Her rationale is that her parents already

Review: When I first saw a that there was a new release for Kimberly Kincaid I was filled with a mix of emotions - excitement and then disappointment that it wasn't a new addition in her Rescue Squad series and then excitement again as I realised that hopefully this means that she has two series on the go and therefore multiple books for me to look forwar
Kimberly Kincaid’s new series is quite a charming, heartfelt one and definitely one of the more engaging small-town stories that I’ve read for some time.

Hunter Cross—farmer extraordinaire—captured my imagination from the start and as foreign as this farming thing is to me, he’s vividly drawn enough that his bond to the farm and family cannot be disputed even as he struggles with an own injury and problems that threaten to weigh him down. An old flame returns though, for reasons that she will not

Thank God, I finished it. I read Skin Deep by Kimberly Kincaid and loved every single moment. So, I was wandering along my merry way on Netgalley and saw this book and that well why not. The first book you read by her was pretty awesome but in all honesty? This not so much.

Crossing Hearts is long winded. I am a fan of small town romances but this just didn’t hit the usual spot like a small town romance does. Second chance romances are a hit and miss with me anyway.

Loved Hunter and Emerson and this book will definitely be one of my favorites for 2017 and will be reread.

Emerson had to leave after high school, so that she could get away from the pressure her parents were putting her under, but did she really want to leave Hunter behind. Forward to 12 years later when Hunter walks into the Physical Therapist office and she is his doctor. Emerson finally opens up to Hunter about most things, but there is still one BIG secret that she is keeping, because she th

I was so thrilled and just so excited to read and thoroughly enjoy this first book new of this amazing romantic series, Cross Creek. This exciting tale based on the Cross family. Of their adventures and their love and losses. Written by newest author, Kimberly Kincaid. Loving this most wonderful story set in Virginia.

Whilst brothers, Hunter and Owen worked on on stacking the bales of hay. These brothers were both strong and knew what they were doing. Hunter himse

**4-4.5 stars** Great start to this new series from Kimberly Kincaid. I loved this second chance romance story and I'm very much looking forward to the future books in the series. Emerson and Hunter had me rooting for them from the very beginning. Kimberly always brings the chemistry, heat and heartfelt scenes with her characters. That's why she's one of my favorites for contemporary romances.

I listened to this audiobook for a book club that I am part of and was wildly enthralled with the storyline.

Hunter Cross and Emerson were high school lovers. Hunter proposed, Emerson said no and fled town. Neither thought they'd ever see each other again. Hunter stayed working on Cross Farms all 12 years and loved it and the small town he lived in. Emerson worked as a physical therapist for the Las Vegas Lightning football team (fictional) and was dating one of the star players. Something happe

This is more of a 2.5 star read for me than a 3 star one. I felt it was just a blah type book. I had no motivation to continue reading it, as I wasn't invested in the characters or the plot line at all. Not even the secondary characters co

Hunter Cross was helping his brother Owen on the farm, when Hunter nearly falls from the hayloft and hurts the same shoulder that had ended his high school football career 12 years before. Hunter will need physical therapy; it’s a good thing that Doc Sanders just hired one. Emerson Montgomery is back in Millhaven, the small Virginia town, where she swore she would never set foot again. After her diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, Emerson’s life unravelled: her football star boyfriend dumped her, h ...more

Haven’t you ever wondered what if………..

The always amazing Kimberly Kincaid kicks off a new small town series with Crossing Hearts and does so with a book that will worm its way into the heart of every reader who reads it for the simple reason that it’s so beautifully written.
Yes, I admit to being totally biased when it comes to this authors writing. I have been there from the start and watched as she has settled into her writing mojo and written book after book that has gone straight to my keeper

Crossing Hearts: 1st in a New Series---Ansoutley Loved this book. Ms. Kincaid really touched upon something in this book and did an excellent job.

Hunter Cross comes face to face with the last person he'd ever think of seeing again in Millhaven.
Emerson Montgomery was his everything.
It's been 12 years. What the heck was she doing back in the town she couldn't wait to leave?

This is a new series for Kimberly Kincade in her Cross Creek books. This story was a wonderful read about second chances and secrets revealed. When the secrets are revealed can these two hearts heal and can these two people build a future together again. I loved this book 1 and am looking forward to the other books in this series.

Hunter Cross does not mind that he still lives in the same small town he grew up in and is working on the family farm. He actually enjoys it all, all that is except for the arguing between his two brothers. Thinking that was the worst of his worries was okay with him. That is until he hurt the shoulder he tore up in high school. After seeing the doctor she tells him he needs physical therapy and that she has just hired someone new. That person is the last person he thought he would ever see agai ...more

Two words describe this book so far: Anti Climactic. I'm disappointed because I was really looking forward to reading this one because that cover is attractive! Like a better looking Ryan Gosling.

The synopsis tried to be vague about hidden secrets but then blatantly tells you the heroine has Multiple Sclerosis. So... that's it. She's got a debilitating disease, her parents don't know and there's a second chance element that just fizzled after the halfway mark. No push and pull between

This book is so good I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! Hunter Cross and Emerson Montgomery were high school sweethearts who broke up when Emerson went away to college but now she is back in town and surprise Hunter walks into her physical therapy office after hurting his shoulder. Ms. Kincaid starts a new series with a bang. It has your usual- boy meets girl, girl leaves to go to college, break up, life goes on for a few years, girl comes back to town. It also has your hot alpha cowboy, stubborn female with a secret, family values, hot sex, hometown feel. But what's different is Ms. Kincaid addresses a disease that is rarely seen in books and nails it. I have family members with MS so I was curious to see how she plays it in to this love story. And she keeps it real. The ...more

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

A second chance at romance without the usual recriminations and hard feelings which is unique in and of itself.

Both Hunter and Emerson have regrets about the past but they do not let those cloud their current friendship. Hunter knows that Emerson is being less than truthful with him about something, but he doesn't stew about it or make it a big issue. When Emerson finally trusts him enough to tell him, he is overjoyed that

I enjoy a small town romance and this one was catnip for me. Hunter and Emerson were such a great couple and I appreciated how Kincaid brought them back together. There were parts of this story- the heroine's story that were very unique and it was a nice change of pace to read about a main character with real life issues that weren't going to magically go away.

Excellent first book in this series and I'm really looking forward to the next one.

This being my fifth book by this author, I was crossing my fingers and toes hoping I would enjoy Crossing Hearts as much as the last two I reviewed (Fearless and Skin Deep). Why was I nervous? Well, because the previous first two books I came across (Just One Taste and Reckless) just did not appeal to me. In my own words from my Reckless review: “At 40%, I realized something else had kicked in…boredom. The author was taking too long/using too many words which kept the writing from being engaging ...more

Slick's review:

This was my first book by Kimberly Kincaid, but it won’t be my last. Crossing Hearts was a second chance at love story and what I most appreciated about this book was that despite the fact this couple didn’t end on the best of terms as teens, once reunited they got over it quickly and vowed to enjoy each other which was so refreshing! On the sweeter side of romance, these characters not only worked to begin a new relationship, but also deal with their family squabbles, work obliga

This is a second chance romance which is a big plus for me. While this book has a sweet story and a HEA I can't say that it was anything more than ok to me. My impression in the beginning was that this was going to be a sweet, sexy can't live without you kind of story but then it started to slow and I found myself hoping it was going to have some great twist or ending that would change the way i was feeling but alas it didn't. I wasn't a fan of Hunter in the beginn

3.5 Stars. Crossing Hearts is a sweet and charming small town romance with engaging characters and a second chance romance.

Hunter Cross is a wonderful hero who can't help but capture your heart immediately. If this book is any indication of what we have to look forward to in the rest of the series we have some seriously good books to look forward to. Small town romance, slightly flawed but intriguing characters, nice slow build second chance relationship, and a wonderful heartwarming HEA. All the components of a great read. Kimberly Kincaid writes contemporary romance that splits the difference between sexy and sweet. When she's not sitting cross-legged in an ancient desk chair known as "The Pleather Bomber", she can be found practicing obscene amounts of yoga, whipping up anything from enchiladas to éclairs in her kitchen, or curled up with her nose in a book.
