The house across the street seems to go on the market every few months, but this time nothing about the sale is normal, including the new owners. No sooner has the for sale sign come down and the neighborhood is thrown into a Lovecraftian nightmare and the only way out is to attend the house warming party.
On first glance, this seems like a story about a strange house, but as you read.... The story gets stranger, and much scarier. I'm not going to look at my neighborhood, or my neighbors, in the same light for a while.
Will make you wonder about that house there, on the corner. The one that never seems to sell or have anyone in it. There's also a kind of dark humor to it.
This may be a short read but it grabs you by the throat and never lets go. It's creepy, suspenseful, chilling and compelling. A must read for any horror fan.
I'm always hesitant to read a book when I know the author, because what if I don't like it? Fortunately I didn't have to worry about that this time; this is an awesomely spooky story.
