Overall Opinion: I messed up I guess. For those of you that read my reviews -- you know that I am not a fan of short books. I obviously didn't notice the note at the bottom of the Amazon (not on GR) blurb stating that this included a "bonus" book. I hate that so much!!! If I want that bonus book I'll get it. This ended at 48% on my kindle app!! I started to worry at about 37ish% because I was thinking that what was going on had to be their big conflict...and it was! I know I might just ...more

"Madre mia, buenísimo este libro"!! So good
this was a fantastic book, surprisingly so, didn't read any reviews just went for it blind. I'm glad I did, it made me enjoy it even more.
"Heartless" is the story of Aidy, she is a makeup artist and Ace is a baseball player forced to retired early due to an injury. They meet when she finds a personal journal in front of Ace's house. Her curiosity gets the better of her and so she reads it and is enthralled by the intimate details of a love af ...more

Freaking loved this book! SO unique and i loved the writing. Surprisingly, i have not read much of this authors' work and i'm definitely adding her books to my TBR list. What a fantastic style she has!
I loved Adie- she was all sunshine and brightness to Ace's darkness and broodiness. It all started with an accidental discovery of a private journal and a few chance meetings (fate at it's work perhaps) but i loved how the story unfolded.
AMAZING! Highly recommended.

Likable MCs, non-manwhore hero, decent heroine, safe.
But... did she really thought he was the one, who wrote the journal? The journal was definitely written by a man, who lusted after a taken woman, and who cheated with this woman on her bf.
So, the heroine would be ok to be with a cheater? Nothing romantic about this scenario!
The hero was of course not the one, who stole a taken woman; but the heroine was almost sure he was. Till almost the end of the book.

I have read a book from this author (royal) and I loved it so I know she is good but this one was jst there for me. I jst couldn't connect with the story....it didn't flow for me. It wasn't bad but I wanted more...didn't get that. I couldn't wait to finish it so I could get to the next book.

This was my very first book by this author and it won't be my last. I loved both the determined yet idealistic Aidy and the reclusive alpha Ace Amato. Aidy(Adelaide) and her sister have launched an app which connects New York City make-up artists with clients and business is good. Aidy is fighting the rain on her way home from a client appointment when she sees a journal in the bushes. Curiosity gets the best of her and she ends up taking it home....and reading it....and romanticizing about the

This is very much a safe book. Almost non existent angst, characters were almost adults in behaviour, they all wanted commitment, they were all on the same page (almost), not too much of OW/OM drama, believable HEA. This is my happy place book. Ace is my new book bf.
Ace doesn't do meaningless hookup.
He was surprised when he hooked up so soon with Aidy and it was Aidy who was the free spirit and initially treating this as a weekend fling.

WHAT?????? How does this book not have a higher rating??? It has everything you need in a book to make it interesting….conflict, angst, humor, hot sex, and even a little mystery. I’m very confused!

3.5 to 4 Stars
This was a good book and I loved the premise. Aidy finds a journal and reads it before attempting to return it to the potential owner. She seriously became obsessed with it. So when she finally attempts to return it, she is shocked when the potential owner is nasty and denies it belonging to him. Can you say total jerk! BUT, I didn't realize he was a former pitcher with a career ending injury so I guess he had the right to be a little cranky! And his name was Ace! Love that!

I've read most of the books by Winter Renshaw, and so far my favorite had been Royal. This is definitely as good, if not better. I read it in one day.

I don't think the summary/synopsis does it justice. It is accurate, but it didn't make me desperate to read the book. In reality, this is a standalone, dual point of view romance novel about a strong, self assured, independent woman (Aidy) and the broken, "heartless", former MLB star (Ace) who have the universe throwing them together. As usual, the ...more

This book was so good. I really loved everything about it. I really love the heroines that Winter writes and Aidy was no different. She was strong and willing to stand up for herself but you could see that sweetness underneath and tell she was a romantic just by how she clung to the journal she found. Ace was broody and shut down but you could see that romantic in him deep down too. I like how he said he doesn’t sleep with people he doesn’t love. Right there I could tell the relationship between

Hands down, this book is terrific. Actually, all of Winter's books are terrific. Read them all, you won't be disappointed. In this book, the main characters are Ace and Aidy. From the very first paragraph I was hooked. Best beginning to a book yet! All of the character are very well developed and you can actually identify with each of them. For Ace being a professional athlete, he is a stand up guy with deep emotions without having a massive ego. Aidy is a terrific hard working, honest gal with

Winter Renshaw was a new to me author so when I started reading “Heartless” I was really surprised.
The plot promised a good book and the author did a really awesome job.
And I have to admit I really did not see that twist coming until it was almost “to late”.
I loved the character development and I felt totally placed into the plot while reading it.
At certain points I saw myself walking down the road and spotting that journal.
Awesome read and for sure a writer to pay attention to.

Ok, this was a cute little romance but at times it did seem a bit far-fetched/unrealistic. I guess that’s to be expected in this genre though. I still liked the authors writing style and the characters were likeable. I also appreciate it being offered as a kindleunlimited. If the other books in this series are also listed as kindleunlimited reads I will likely check them out.

The story is ordinary and I mean it in the best way possible.
I usually don't review a book by telling what it is not, but it is worth pointing in this case. There is no instalove or instalust, no instant combustion into desire, no incessant staring at pecs or cleavage, no gift of underwear or designer dress and no controlling.
The book is about two people getting to know each other and falling in love. The start is a little slow, compared to other romances (see above: no immediate heart-poundin ...more

This is my first read from Winter Renshaw, and I was pleasantly surprised. I don't read as much contemporary these days, but I enjoyed this one quite a bit.
Aidy Kincaid is a fashionable modern woman. She is a professional makeup artist working with her sister on their startup business, Glam to Go. It sounds like such a fun job, especially given my slight makeup addiction, so I was definitely digging Aidy. Got sucked in by the blurb didn't ya???
Yah, me too.
Are you expecting a seriously handsome billionaire suit to open the door of that Manhattan townhouse and claim the journal???
Yah, me too.
Are you right? Well, I'm not gonna tell you that. I enjoyed the fact that I knew nothing when I dove in aside from the blurb. But I will tell you, this was a pleasant surprise of a read – expected and totally unexpected at the same time.

The blurb pulls you in but the book really isn't about the diary at all. It's about Aidy and Ace who were MCs that I loved. I was so glad that Ace was not a man-whore. How they met and their relationship was so fun to read about. I liked the book but because Ace is holding back I didn't feel as invested in the romance. When the end comes it feels rushed. Also, the book ends at 50% so when it was getting close to the end and I see that there is still a bunch left, it throws me off when it's over

4.5 stars. I've noticed a lot of Renshaw's books contain "bonus material." This one is no different, it ends at 50%, just a heads up. I got this book from Amazon using KU.
I really liked this book. We've got a tortured, brooding H and a free spirit h. They were great together.

This book was amazing! It was everything I didn't know I wanted!

Not bad. A little too many coincidences for my personal preference and a tad extreme at times, but good overall for the most part. I don't feel like the title matched the story, it should have been titled something a bit more prevalent to the story, like Journal Entries, Broken Dreams or The Makeup Artist.
