This is the best guide and reference book to European reptiles and
amphibians on the market.

There is a vast amount of information in this compact volume.

The illustrations, maps, and identification guides are flawless.

I would recommend it to anyone without reservations.

Quite a comprehensive guide to the Herpetofauna of Europe, a veritable must have for the European herpetologist. However, having said that, the colour plates are not beside the text for each species, and are drawn - which makes the guide somewhat more difficult to use than one would perhaps expect but, the pkates are very good and the writing is top notch.

The pictures, maps and species information are all separate, which is annoying. You have to keep going back and forth in the book.

The species information is very good.
