Must confess, I only skimmed this book. Skimming may be responsible for the low rating, or low rating may be responsible for the skimming. I was reading a LOT of writing books during this time period and this one did not keep my interest the way some of the others did.

Picked up this book from a library book sale years ago. Finally, read it in 2024. I may have enjoyed it many many years ago. I've read other writing books that I've enjoyed more.l at this point.
This book has 100 exercises to get the pen flowing. I've already heard of most of them at this point, but their good. It's a great book. I just didn't personally love it.
I skimmed all of the writing pieces. There is so much of peoples work for examples. I personally didn't love the excessiveness of poems and such.
I spent a dollar on this book, so I got my money's worth. A few takeaways that I appreciate.

Le etichette che ho assegnato a questo libro lo caratterizzano nel senso che aiutano a crearci una propria identità. Non è un caso se ho dato al mio blog, creato oltre una decina di anni fa, il sottotitolo "scrivo per capire quello che penso". Soltanto scrivendo, infatti, possiamo dare inizio alla scoperta di noi stessi.

Man mano che sono venuto a completare l'inserimento dei miei libri qui su GoodReads mi sono reso conto di quanti libri io abbia accumulato nel corso di tanti anni di studio, di lavoro e di ricerca su un argomento come questo. Non per diventare uno scrittore, ma per darmi e ritrovarmi una identità.

Capisco che il libro è oltre ad essere un oggetto, un prodotto e come tale ha un valore perchè ha un costo in funzione del lavoro che è costato. Capisco che entra a far parte di un "gioco" che si chiama mercato che produce un profitto. Ma per me la scrittura e quindi il libro li ho intesi sempre non come un obbiettivo ma come strumenti di conoscenza prima di se stessi e poi degli altri.

Per questa ragione non sono, non posso essere uno scrittore, specialmente nella realtà digitale contemporanea nella quale, con la moderna tecnologia, siamo tutti in un modo od un altro "scrittori".
