Toxicology is the science of poisons, embracing the physical and chemical study of all the known poisonous substances, as well as the methods of testing for them, their action on the living body, and the postmortem results they occasion. The Third Edition of this benchmark text once again proves the most authoritative resource on the subject for both students and practicing professionals.

I used this book for the first time in this spring semester's tox class. Overall, it's very good. It includes info on tox testing, environmental issues, and future topics that is lacking in other texts. Can be repetitive in places and has a strange mention of applying homeopathic principles to toxicology (?!). Otherwise, a good introductory text.

A decent textbook. I referred it for my organ system toxicity class. Provides a brief overview of system physiology and then a quick capitulation of selected toxicants.
