An unprecedented international publishing event: the first and only diary written by a still-imprisoned Guantánamo Bay detainee.

Since 2002, Mohamedou Slahi has been imprisoned at the detention camp at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba. In all these years, the United States has never charged him with a crime. A federal judge ordered his release in March 2010, but the U.S. government fou

I listened to the audio book and while I believe MOS was and probably still is imprisoned at Guantanamo Bay Cuba and that he was probably tortured I am still skeptical about many things in the "book".

I cannot recommend this as a read or listen. It was not what I expected.

A gut wrenching account of a Guantanamo Bay inmate. Every time I pulled my eyes away from the book I had to remind myself of where I was and how absolutely luck I am to live the life that I live. If this book doesn’t make you believe is prison abolition than I don’t know what else will.
