I really enjoyed this book. A little tidbit it gave me was how to create some of my own essential oils if I wanted too, and I just thought that was the coolest thing.

This book is great for beginners who want a simple hands on work book. Kennedy provides some basic safety protocols and she provides a few of essential oils uses, but she doesn't overwhelm the reader with every element of an oil. For some, I know this is going to be a detraction, but to me, it seemed well balanced. Kennedy does provide many resources to do further reading should a reader feel they need more information.

The oils Kennedy uses are common and relatively inexpensive. She also does a great job using the same or similar oils repeatedly so that a reader won't have to purchase an overwhelming stock just to try a few or her remedies.

The mixes Kennedy makes and the things she believes essential oils can remedy fall into the realm of realistic and she further makes notes where the oils are only there to provide a pleasant smell instead of to actually provide much function.

The guide is no where near comprehensive, but it's an excellent starting point for beginners as well as a simplified guide for more expert essential oil enthusiasts.

Really like the formatting-easy to follow. The recipes for health, body and home care seem sufficient. Info about oils is lacking.

I bought this book for the recipes. My Pinterest is bursting with ideas, but I like the feeling of pulling out a recipe book when I'm working with ingredients even if I tinker with the recipes a bit.

I enjoyed the info in the back for the 50 oils she chose as well as the brief history in the front. I wish she would have added information about substitutions so I didn't have to look that up elsewhere.
