A fair debut though lacking in plot and arc. Lachman has written an organic prose that highlights the symbiosis between the very traditional Indian, and British cultures; unfortunately, these lovely insights provided little more than gloss. A gloss that was severely marred by the author's narrative, and simplistic exposition.

A one night stand involving the protagonists; an arranged marriage; an old flame bearing the dreaded oops-I'm-pregnant bomb; antagonistic parents-in-law; seemingly bi-polar

I enjoyed the story of these two people that believe they have no future. It is a sweet story in many ways, yet there is a harshness to it that keeps the reader wondering what are the secrets and what is the truth. It is crafted in such a way that it propels you through the story while you hold your breath. It is a good story and a good read. There is a lot of cultural aspects that brought a lot of life to the story for me. Anytime I can learn more about a culture it is a bonus.

My honest review:
I absolutely loved this book. Samara wakes up in Hunters bed and has no clue who he is. She finds out she kinda likes the guy. They date for a bit and then he is gone. Devastation ensues and Samara is heartbroken for years, but life goes on. She is in an arranged marriage and doesn't want it to continue. She lost her true love years ago, how could she ever love again? Yash wants a mother for his son and nothing more. What will happen? Awesome read, loved it and first time readin

Second Chances Soulmate is book one in Now, Forever, and Always series by Rachael Lachman. It is set in India and in London. The book is interesting in that you get a slight feel for the Indian culture through the characters. This is the first book I have read that gives a hint of the Indian culture. This made it much more interesting. The book has so many emotions in it that you must have a box of tissues when reading it. It is also one that is very difficult to put down so it is good that it i ...more

I enjoyed getting to know a new culture and see how they do things different than we do. I thought this book started out slow but it does take off keeping the reader’s attention. It really is an emotional read with the author covering many issues. It must really be hard for a culture where the man’s word is law thinking that your children will marry within the race only to find they do not. Samara father is a very bullhead man with his beliefs. The author covers interracial marriage and the fami ...more

***I was given this book for an unbiased review***

The Prologue caught my attention & made me accept an arc copy of the book.

It's a contemporary romance. The story is set in both India & London. Samara wakes up in a stranger's bed - both have no recollection of their mysterious night. Samara thinks of her father's reactions about this sinful act.

We are given an insight of her whirlwind romance with Hunter. Soon, he breaks her heart & tells her that he cannot love her & asks that she forgets him

Great Love Story

I usually woulda not read this type of book I like when the characters tell the story themselves. But this little love story between Hunter aka Yash and Samara was so sweet I could not put this book down can't wait to read Riley and Emily's next! Happy Reading

I received an ARC for an honest review from the author. Thanks to Racheal for a great read.

This was a great story. Yash and Samara fall in love after spending some time together that began with a crazy drunken one night stand that Yash (aka "Hunter") refuses to tell Samara what happened that led them to end up spending the night together. After falling in love, a nightmare happens taking them away from each other. Now Samara is being married off to someone she doesn't know and is miserable about

Samara wakes up in Hunters bed as no clue who he is or what happened at the club she was at celebrating her friend Emily's bday. Well all of sudden they hit it off and Samara knows she loves Hunter on her 21'st birthday Hunter tells her he can't love her he has to marry someone else. Too much miscommunication in this book that it gave me a major headache. Both the hero and heroine were such tools throughout the whole book that I couldn't find any liking or attachment towards them. If they both just shut up and talked to each other without assumptions and interruptions they could have saved each other a lot of trouble. I get it, those miscommunication where suppose to give readers angst throughout the book but it was overplayed and not well executed. It's such a shame because ...more

Loved it. What a surprise. Wake up and find someone in your bed. Then to have a romance out of it. It was exciting to see what happens next between these two. I recommend it. It was enjoyable. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Enjoyed reading the story. It has good insight on love, family bonding, trust in a relationship and how important resilience is for one to have a happy peaceful life. Second chances are always a little endearing as this one. Pick this one and you will have a good read.

What for pete's sake did I just read?!
I really had high hopes for this book because most reviews rated it in 5 stars that is why I pursued reading it hoping that eventually it will get better, had I known it will be like this I would have not wasted my time.

So this is what happened, S and H shared a past but it ended when H broke it up with S to save her from being hurt which in return hurt her even more (Ugh! What is up with that? What kind of logic is that?). Years later they had been fixed f

This story was okish. The writing was ok, but the heroine was a complete doormat. I was annoyed by the complete lack of communication on both sides and the hero's reactions just didn't ring true, amongst other things he hadn't even given her his real name and yet he was going to propose!!!
The epilogue was pretty much just a rush of facts and the one resolution I was looking for was unsolved.
I've read worse, but won't be reading more of this series as I just couldn't get onboard with the charact
DNF at 17%. This book was painful. I managed to get to 17% only because this book is on the shorter side. The writing is just not for me. Unrealistic dialogue, telling instead of showing, weird errors that needed some serious editing (lack of commas, capitalizing common nouns, etc.)...life is just too short.

Really enjoyed this story of Samara & Hunter and all the twists and fate playing games.

Lots of angst and intense drama that keeps you flipping through to get to the end/truth.

A beautiful love story with so much Indian culture and melodramatic parents who want to be in your business! What an ending!!

Looking forward to more Racheal.

I did enjoy reading this story. At times I did get frustrated with the main characters going back and forth with "I want you to tell me what is going on--- I'm not ready to talk about it" then "I'm ready to talk---- but I don't want to hear it now" ...more
Good story. It was different than the others that I've read only because most of the main characters are Indian and I am not familiar with all those terms. Still liked it. ...more

Samara had just woken up from her one-night stand. That's interesting!

Being born into the Indian heritage, Samara fears her inebriated behavior would upset her overbearing, temperamental father and bring disgrace to her family name. And that was why she aimed never to see or speak of Hunter ever again, especially since he was an arrogant, conceited jerk. Still, she can't help they way he turns her on. He was definitely an alluring mystery. If only she didn't have this pesky arranged marriage. Wh

Hello to anyone who reads this testimony. I was rejected by my husband after three (3) years of marriage, just because another woman cast a spell on him and he left me and the children to suffer. One day when I was reading through Facebook, I saw a post about how to cast this spell on Facebook, It helped a woman like me to get her husband back and I gave Prophet william a reply to his WhatsApp through his page and he told me that a woman cast a spell on my husband and he told me that he would he ...more

Second Chances Soulmate is a story with deep roots. Set in India & London the story is about Samara, a young Indian woman trying to find her way while honoring her Indian cultural traditions. She moves to London to pursue a career in Interior Design.
Samara and her best friend Emily head out to celebrate Emily’s birthday. Samara wakes up the next morning with a hangover and she realizes not only is she not alone, she is not at home. She is in a loft lying next to Hunter.

“Who are you?” She squeez

Second Chances Soulmate was a great 5 star read.

Samara finds herself in Hunters bed and can’t quite remember how she got there, actually Hunter can’t remember anything either. They eventually start to date until one day he leaves, shattering her heart.

Moving forward her father has set up an arranged marriage for her. Due to her broken heart she doesn’t see how she could ever love again. She was going into the unknown but Samara would learn quickly that

** I was given this book for an honest review **

This is the first book I read with Indian characters in it. It was something new but I enjoyed it.

The story starts off with Samara awaking in Hunter's bed and the night was a complete and utter mystery to the both of them.

Samara falls in love with Hunter but she is not entirely sure about how he feels about her. It is her 21st Birthday and she goes to celebrate with him (at his second home) but something happens and he tells her that he cannot love

N.B. - This book was given to me, by the Author, for an honest review.

The story was on a shorter side. I did not like the beginning with Samara waking up in a stranger's bed. It portrayed her as "loose" woman but as the story goes on, she does have ethics.

Both of them want to please their families but they end up hurting each. If they only shut up for once and followed their heart, they would have saved each other a lot of heartache. I do like the games mentioned in this book - especially truth
2,5 stars

This book had so much potential but was poorly executed.
I'm sorry to say I didn't like it.
The characters acted like children in middle school, it was all a mistery-not so mistery, lies that didn't need to be said and stupid behavior from the both of them. From the first time they met to the end. I only save the epilogue. At least they were good in it.

And sorry, but I have no intention to read the sequel with Emily and Riley, she was acting weird in this story, I can't imagine how is she
I liked this book. It had drama and intrigue and heartbreak and misunderstandings and foolish pride. It has a HEA and the next book will continue with different characters from this book. There is no cheating in this book. The H is an asshole in the second half but he comes around. The h is so annoying and whiny sometimes but I liked her better in the second half. Weird, I know. The epilogue is great. I can't imagine having parents that into your business. Wow, but it all turns out really well. ...more
