Again, a little outdated and some pages were of no interest to me so I just read the little trivia at the bottom of those pages. Still a decent bathroom reader though.

The second in the series. These books are filled with short articles, factoids and trivia. Most of it is entertaining but relatively useless info. However, occasionally I learn something pretty interesting. The most compelling pieces in this collection included the article on what a jerk John D. Rockefeller actuallly was and how he hired a PR consultant late in life to clean up his image and the article explaining how most of the differences between McDonald's and Burger King can be attributed to one simple difference in their production methods (batch processing vs. continuous conveyor belt).

CRAP-TACULAR

Uncle John's Second Bathroom Reader is a great book when #2 is really on your mind. From cover to cover this book has tons of: trivia, answers to the inane, and things that you've probably heard before but forgot all about it.Anyone who has any allusions of trying to get on a TV trivia show (like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire) will definately want to familiarize themself with the writings of Uncle John. It's helped me expand my knowledge base greatly. I've also loved books like "5087 Trivia Questions and Answers" and "American Trivia", but Uncle John managed to keep me laughing while filling my head with facts. Frankly, I didn't want to leave the bathroom. Some little ditties you'll find in this volume...Thomas Crapper, Myth or Hero! Strange Lawsuits!! Churchill Speaks!!! Tales of 60's TV!!!! Common Phrases!!!!! The Gumby Story!!!!!! The Nut Behind Grape-Nuts!!!!!!! AND MUCH MUCH MORE...I loved this book and my advice...No outhouse is complete without it! Read Less

The subjects are a bit dry compared to the newer books, and some of the "facts" have since been debunked (this was written in 1989). Overall, still a good read for those who enjoy "useless trivia".

I love Uncle John Bathroom Readers. They are very educational.

In this Uncle John's Bathroom Reader:

The Frisbee Story: The origin story behind it.

Warholisms: A page of quotes from Andy Warhol.

Hello, I'm Mr. Ed: The background on the show.

The Gumby Story: The rise, fall & rebirth of Art Clokey’s iconic stop-motion animation creation.

The Shower Scene: The story behind the most famous movie scene, the shower scene from Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho.

And much more!
