The unfortunate thing about reading an "okay" book right after an amazing one (A Darkness Absolute) is that it really makes the difference stand out.

The plot was a little far fetched, Alex and his brothers didn't really seem like they were FBI agents when the majority of their time is spent running their biker bar. I didn't really feel any chemistry between Madison and Alex, would've liked a little more foundation with their romance. Also, the attraction/fascination Ramon had with Madis

Great read..

I love Sandra Owens book because they’re more than just a silly romance. This one is about a drug kingpin, drug smuggling, disgusting cousins lusting after another cousin and the FBI agents looking to topple the drug trade of the Alonzo drug business and, of course, Alex’s growing love for the cousin of the pervert Ramon. It’s about the horrible childhood that Alex, Nate and Court lived through and of their mother walking out on them when they were just little boys.

This is an awesome start to what should be a great new series from this author. It was a bit slow in the beginning but once all the characters are introduced and the storyline established it was great. Alex is an FBI agent working undercover with his brothers. They own and run a biker bar as their cover but are actually investigating Ramon Alonzo, a known drug trafficker. Madison is Ramon's cousin and is unwittingly caught in the middle of Alex and Ramon. She has information that could possibly ...more

3.5-4 Alex and Madison Stars

I enjoyed this book and thought it was a good start to a series that I will definitely be reading.

Alex is the youngest of the three Gentry brothers who are all FBI agents and run the Aces & Eights bar as a cover for their law enforcement backgrounds. He is working on a case that brings him into contact with our heroine, Madison. She has a hunch that her nasty uncle and creepy cousin are up to no good but she has no idea what the extent of their criminal activity

wow, it run really fast. We knew that three brothers working as undercover agent of FBI, they growth up in the abuse family, without mother's caring, three brothers closed together.

Ace, King and Jack, they may be different but they share the common element, when the decision is made, they will be the most reliable guy in the world.

Alex, aka Jack, his story just an introduction for the family. I always wondering why Ace, King and Jack, how about the Queen? May be it refer to the biker bar they

Jack of Hearts was a fantastic book. First of all, I love the cover, the title, and the name of the bar. I don't know if it was intentional, but the name Aces & Eights is awesome considering the 'dead man's hand' was named after a wild west law man who was also known to be a spy. Since the Gentry's are actually undercover FBI agents, the name really is a stroke of brilliance.

As is her forte, Ms. Owens has once again written a fabulous book about really well-written characters – both the goo

Very good story! Excellent narration by Sebastian York and Amy McFadden. (audible review)

This was a great story. I really enjoyed every bit of it. I really liked Alex and Madison together. They made a great match and they had some great chemistry together. There was a little sex in the story which was perfect. It didn't take away from the from the actual story or the characters.

The story line and plot was great. I really liked the undercover FBI agent story. I enjoyed the three brothers very muc

Well I guess 3 1/2. I just had a hard time getting into this one. I don't know why. It took me a long time to really get into the characters. I like the plot interesting. The brothers seem cool and they sure have a great deal of love and bonding between them. They had such a crappy childhood. Nate is sure to be the hardest one to fall in love.

Jack was ok. He is the baby of the bunch. He seemed really caviler to me. I hate when the hero has to be a jerk to the heroine for her own good. I hate hig

This is the 1st book in Ms. Owens' new series Aces & Eights. The series is about 3 brothers who are FBI agents, but own a biker bar as a cover for their undercover work. This 1st book is about the youngest brother Alex.

Alex is trying to get close to a drug lord through is son Ramon and during that time he meets Ramon's cousin Madison ... who he immediately becomes enamored with. He tries to tell himself that it is all for the case, but in his heart he knows that's not true. Madison is just t

Good start

to the series. Having a sexy undercover FBI agent to fall for you but can't tell you the truth. Hottie cop and a fiery red head is a match you can't sent but then there's the issue with bad family members. A good start to the series. Now to see which brother is next in the series. I'm thinking the hot tempered one. Can't wait.

This was my first from this author and I REALLY enjoyed it! Likeable characters and the prologue pulled me in to the story. It was sweet and suspenseful and had a jaw dropping epilogue. I can't wait for more!

The Gentry brothers are so dreamy. The bond they share is so special and in their line of work it makes it that much stronger, to know they have each other's back at all costs.

This story has equal amounts of danger, threat, and suspense with passion, affection, and love. It pulled me into the dark and treacherous world of biker bars, drug deals, and undercover assignments where fights, deals, and rivalry seemed to be everyday occurrences.
I fell in love with the Gentry brothers and the palpable love they had for each other. The situation they had grown up in wasn't ideal in anyone's eyes, yet they made it and made something of themselves, something to be proud of. The

I’ve been a fan of Sandra Owen’s ever since I read her amazing novel The Letter, which is a beautifully written historical. When she began writing contemporary, I must admit I was skeptical, but she quickly proved she could handle the transition with her K2 Team series. When I received an invitation from the publisher via Net-Galley, I eagerly accepted. Ms. Owens new series is fantastic!

Jack of Hearts is the first book in the Aces & Eights Series and it breaks my heart to give this book 3 stars because K2 by Sandra Owens is one of my favorite series but I had a hard time with this book. A great beginning for Ms Owens’s new series titled , Aces and Eights. You will be drawn to the storyline from the moment you start reading this book.
The premise of this series is a biker bar owned by a set of brothers. In this one we have Alex Gentry, an FBI undercover agent.
HIs Achilles heel is Madison, whom he befriends during this mission . She happens to be related to a man who is a drug lord and who Alex is trying to bring down.
His attraction to Madison puts them both in danger. Both are ke

This is the best book I’ve read by Ms. Owens so far. I’ve read all her K2 books, and I like them ok. This one? Gotta admit that this book surpassed my expectation.

First let me say that Ms Owens K2 novels are some of my absolute favorites so I was interested to see how she would treat a new subject. My actual rating for this book would be 4 1/2 stars but alas Goodreads doesn't let you give half a star.

The only reason i would take off 1/2 a star is because I had a little difficulty getting going with the book. Not sure why but the first quarter felt a bit off to me. I liked the characters from the beginning, Alex doesn't seem to be afraid of anything other

I picked this one up and put it down a couple of times. And, unfortunately, it just didn;t work for me.

Alex and Madison had chemistry, they had passion, and I liked them as a couple...the issue was I just didn't believe the situations they found themselves in...and I never believed he would sneak into her window on a continual basis, as an example. I don't want to get into specifics about what didn't work for me, as that will spoil it for others.
