André

The Marines trained me to set my sights and wait for the shot. For eight years, I guarded my brothers and defended my country. Now I protect my clients. My personal security firm is the best in the business because I leave nothing to chance… until a dark-haired, hazel-eyed spitfire crosses my path.

She and her sexy as hell strip tease were supposed to be a one-night distraction. But too late I noticed the branding on her back and my blood ran cold. This woman wasn’t a distraction — she was a death sentence.

Knowing who she was left me no choice. I took her on as my client. But running from her past wasn’t an option.

The Marines didn’t train me to retreat. They taught me to engage.

One shot. One kill.

Kendall Reed can never let anyone know who she really is. Not only would it mean certain death to her, but to anyone she associates with. While hiding in a biker gang, two things happen that changes her life. Andre Luna comes into her life and one of the MC sees her branding.

Andre is a former Marine sniper who now owns his own security firm. He has no time for a woman let alone a smart mouth, stubborn as hell one at that. Sometimes life doesn’t give you a choice.

Sybil Bartel has become a must read author! Not only does she bring us exciting stories that get your adrenaline pumping, she also knows how to write the best Dominant Alphas. I fall for each and every one of them and I’m always left asking for more.

I loved how she brought past Hero’s in on this book and brought future (I hope) ones to look forward too. I can’t wait for what she brings us next! ARC provided by author.

"If you have a virgin-whore complex, I want my money back."
Sybil Bartel is unquestionably one of my favorite authors, and once again she's served up a delicious, extremely fast-paced story about a hot-as-hell alpha and a strong-as-steel heroine. If you like your romance with a bit of an edge to it, I can't recommend this author enough.

Kendall is a woman with a price on her head. Andre (yes, the Andre! - the one who shows up in everyone else's book now has his own!) is an ex-Marine who owns a security company. She's hard to like...
Sarcasm wasn't my best friend, it was my lover.
And he's the epitome of likable...
The smile in his eyes when he looked at me was the answer to every wrong in my life.
They clash, they banter, they have HOT sex, they fall in love - all while being chased by the enemy. It was pure Sybil Bartel awesomeness.

I don't want to give much away about Kendall's backstory - so you can experience it as the story unfolds - but if I had to quibble about anything in this book, it would be about that. I felt it needed some more fleshing out or perhaps different flashbacks to make its points. But hey, I can't deny that I read this book in one sitting - and I loved almost every word of it!

Here's my favorite quote:
The second I took her, she was gonna fuck more than my cock.
Gotta love a strong heroine - and an alpha who knows what to do with one!

Reviewed on behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
I do enjoy these series of books and especially enjoyed Andre’s. I think many of us would enjoy a book about ex-marine hunk so Alpha you just want to swoon. This is about Andre falling for someone who is in hiding, and finds himself looking after the woman of his dreams.
That the thing about these books are the woman are strong, even after suffering from a traumatic past. They come out stronger keeping the men on their toes. Kendell stands up for herself very well, and keeps Andre on his toes in and out of the bedroom. This is a great bit of escapism with lots of hot men, with plenty of hot sex thrown. I absolutely enjoyed every minute of it.  I can honestly say I read this in one go, it always great to see the rest of guys in action. So suspend believe  enjoy an evening of escapism.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

DNF. I paid $2.99 for this book. I want my money back.

I have enjoyed/loved another book by Sybil Bartel and wanted to read another one. I loved the premise of this one and was excited to start it ASAP. However, I got TIRED of Kendall's, the heroine's, attitude. At 40%, she is still moody. I understand what she went through was very traumatic, etc., but there was nothing about her that made me connect with her. I have NO IDEA what Andre saw in her except her beauty. She gave nothing back to him at 43%. No kindness, no gratitude, no support, no appreciation. NOTHING. She was just hurtful and mean. There may have been 2 lines where she was kind, but then by the next paragraph she went back to being mean and hurtful for NO REASON to the man who was helping her!!! I understand her anger with the cult, but why be so hurtful ALL THE TIME to Andre?? You may love Kendall. You may think she is a strong heroine, etc., etc., etc., but I think she was nothing but an ungrateful person. This is my opinion. Reading is subjective.

Mrs. Sybil Bartel is an old friend of MB, but rarely I get to read her books. Three and some years ago, I read and reviewed another of her books No Apologies; I mentioned this because, at that time, I said that it seems that Mrs. Bartel found some winning answers to what a good romance story should be, and now I see that, after all this time and several other books, she still can play them “against” the reader.

Do you need a simple story with events that can be controlled entirely by the characters or, despite that you want (at least, I want) a happy ending, a story in which the characters and their love will be put to the test? Hard. If you want the latest, you could try Andre.

When the blood vessel of love is harmed sometimes the haemorrhage could be fatal.

While the main character’s feelings are tested in a more visible and explicit way, his love interest suffers from reasons more profound and harder to understand.

In this story, there are more than one type of love. Different facets and different dimensions of the sentiment will gave consistency to the story and put possible traps in the characters' ways or, on the contrary, they will offer the chance of survival: physical and emotional.

One of the things that I also liked was the camaraderie among male characters; they are brothers in arms for real. (Could be a preference for a Neil, in your works, Mrs. Bratel?). No one is left behind or one for all and all for one could be their logo. The story could use more action scenes, but, even if our guys could handle more, the author gave us enough for a romance. After all, this is not a story for boys and important is the healing nature of love. Because, isn’t it, love can conquer all.

Maybe one time or twice I was upset with her, maybe at some point I was disappointed with him, but, at the end, I liked the story. Mrs. Bartel made a habit of going “one shot – one kill”. Sounds familiar?

Be loved and Enjoy the ride!

I found this author through Talon, and I've been hooked on the crack she serves up disguised as delicious words ever since. I have also been fascinated by one Mr. Luna from out the gate. So I had to stalk Sybil Bartel on Twitter--as one does--to find out when she was gonna give me my Andre.

Make no mistake, Andre is mine. You hear me?

So I pestered her and pestered her about Andre, as one does. And then after a long-ass waiting period--so long, y'all--I FINALLY GOT HIM.

Mr. Luna did not disappoint. M'kay?

I am so gone over The Alpha-ness of it all. The sexy times. The filth. The dominance. The Andre.
I'm on my sick bed, barely able to make my own words *sad face*, so this was just what I needed. It's been out since Monday. Today is Tuesday. I've already loved up ahem, re-read Andre twice.

As one does.

Excellent book.
Hard uncompromising and know his stuff, Andre is running his own protection agency.
Kendal is running from her father.
Only Andre and his men can help her now, that’s if she’ll let them.

Steamy, action packed and enjoyable entertainment.

André stole my heart. He was fierce, loyal, protective, and sexy. He got the training he needed to do the job he was born to do. Protect his brothers. Protect his country. Protect the innocent. Protect her, Kendall. Fast pace. Sexy. Exciting. Tempting. And let me mention hot sexy, dominant, alpha males. Yes, males. The past and the future of the Uncompromising series makes appearances. This excited me.

These two seem to butt heads immediately but it was sure fire hot blazing chemistry. The banter was hot. Their head butting was just as hot. Kendall had way too much going on in her life to be so young. She came with a lot of complications. Complications that André could and would become a part of.

I found just a couple things that I did not like and that was more depth to the past issues and what brought her to her current place and time. I guess that just left me wanting more and diving in further and faster.

There was passion, heat, fire, banter, darkness, pain, fear. The series most certainly has come to a boil. The future will take a great ride with more coming our way.

This was quite an angry book and I found it tiring. I'm not at all offended by swearing but the f word was used so frequently that it was annoying. Maybe it was used excessively to heighten the drama and passion of the whole situation but there was no break from it.

Kendall was constantly spewing insults at André and anyone else in her sights. I get that she was in a difficult situation but we weren't shown anything particularly likeable in her character to balance it out. It made it hard to understand why anyone would think she was worth the hassle. Even at the end, after all he had done, André still had to chase after her. I'm exhausted for him.

I just can't anymore with SB. Her heroes were all badass alphas who always went gaga over pretty faces with sexy bods. And by gaga I meant would shoot people, blow buildings up and even take a bullet himself. For a woman they just met. Like. Five. Minutes. Ago.

Me don't like shallows. Sorry SB, moving on.

This book was crazy good. It's filled with lots of fast past action, a scary cult led by a psychotic, an MC bent on collecting a reward, a smart mouthed sarcastic heroine and a sexy as sin, uber protective hero. I read it cover to cover without putting it down.

André is the third book in Sybil Bartel's The Uncompromising series, which is a spin-off of her Unchecked series. In this novel, we finally learn more about André. The Marine who runs a top-notch security company. André has been mentioned in the other books as a no-nonsense businessman who doesn't know how to let loose. Consumed with work, André doesn't let anything, or anyone, compromise everything he's worked for. Until now...

Kendall is also a character that has appeared in previous novels. Until now, Kendall has been a bit of a mystery. She has long been known as Talon's feisty and sharp-tongued assistant. When we last saw her it appeared she was caught up with Candall, who runs a local motorcycle club the fellas have come up against from time to time. It wasn't until recently that Kendall wound up needing André's services in a big way. Who'd thought the tough as nails assistant and workaholic Marine would wind up being soul mates? I surely didn't!

On one hand, I enjoyed this pairing because it involved two characters with which I was already familiar. Instead of eye-rolling insta-love, I got the opportunity to enjoy the building of a relationship between two characters who have known each other for a while. However, their previous interactions were limited, so readers won't feel as if they missed any build up if they don't start this series from the beginning. Having said that, I kind of wished Kendall's problem had started in one novel, but completed in the next. Her story was just too important and interesting to relegated to a one and done fashion. I would have liked to see her problem drag on for a while, and see how it affects the guys and everyone's lives before the resolution.

I also thought the subject matter was a bit heavy to be tackled alongside a romance. In fact, it would have been great if this story simmered in the background of another story before getting a novel of its own.The main payoff was the guys tension with the MC. For the third book in a row, the team has problems with the MC, and I enjoyed the continuity Bartel had with this plot point. At this point, though, Talon, was still my favorite so far as he was a very likable character with a great romance. While I liked André, I've never cared for Kendall and thought their sexy times happened at bizarre points of the story. An easy read, but not one I overly enjoyed. This review was originally posted on I Was Angelized_1st

This is a fast paced and raunchy romance with mystery, action, suspense, love and friendship.

André is exmarine and owns a security service which he runs alongside those who fought with him. He has this bad boy persona with a heart of gold. He is loyal to his friends, colleagues and clients.

Kendall is fiery and gives off a couldn't care less attitude. Only she knows, what lies underneath this facade.

André met Kendall six months ago and hasn't been able to get her off his mind since. In the absence of Candle, her protector, she neglects her duties. When André is asked to check on her, he jumps at the chance to see her again. What he finds is not what he expected. She is not too happy about his arrival and lashes out at him. Candle makes an appearance, but unfortunately one of his men identifies Kendall and instantly everyone connected to her is in danger. Her secret is out!

André is not about to stand by and watch her being destroyed. He takes her on as a client and she gives him a hard time when what she really wants is the opposite. It's her defensive mechanism. He can read people and knows when someone is troubled. He is determined to get to the bottom of the reasons why she is in danger and as the truth starts to surface, he starts to understand her behaviour. This makes him more determined to help her even if it means risking everything he has worked for, including his life. She thinks that she is way beyond saving. The chemistry between them is electric, but she tries to hold back. Will she trust him enough and give him a chance?

Kendall's past is so very heartbreaking, but her attitude doesn't leave a lot to be desired at times. André is persistent and supportive and their interactions go from heated disagreements to steamy hot sex. This story doesn't give much room for any reprieve. Nothing is certain as danger looms in every corner. It's a gripping story which held me captive from beginning to end.

I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

I’m done with this series. This one was way past over the top, and the miscommunication/stubbornness between hero and heroine got tiresome. The formula has gotten a bit stale.

Kendall Reed (Decima Stephens) is on the run. She’s being hunted by her lunatic father. Escaped from the compound she was born and raised in, now they want her back, but she helped the FBI with information and she knows capture or return is a death sentence. She’s been hiding out with a biker friend, but he’s been compromised, so he’s turned her protection over to Andre. Kendall looks at the world a little differently because of her upbringing, but she knows she wants Andre. Problem is, she’s so screwed up in the head … and she knows she has an expiration date. It’s going to be soon because she can’t hide form her father forever. Too bad she can’t just hope for a while that Andre might actually be able to save her.

Andre Luna owns a private security company. He is former military as are all of his employees. They all have particular skill sets and he vets each of his clients before taking them on. He doesn’t like to deal with drama and potentially over dangerous cases and he won’t knowingly put his men in danger – not any more than comes with the job anyway. But Kendall gets thrown in his lap and as a favor he takes her on. He knows there is a hell of a lot more to her story than he’s getting, but he never dreamed it was as deep or serious as it actually is. He’s only got one choice now to save the woman he’s falling for … and it’s going to involve several of his combat friends. They’ve only got one chance and if they screw it up, Kendall is dead.

Full disclosure – this book contains a LOT of language. About half of it is cussing in Spanish, the rest is just bad words and graphic descriptions involving sex, lust, and death. Not saying I don’t read such books, but I felt this had more than “average”, so I wanted to mention it. At one point, even Kendall asks Andre if he thinks it’s any different cussing just because he’s doing it in Spanish. I’m sure it was meant as a joke or dig at Andre, but I was like, “I know, right?” 😊 I enjoyed this book, but had a difficult time because of the content. Andre is what I typically look for in an Alpha lead. His heritage comes out a lot in his dialogue, speaking Spanish rather frequently, but mostly in universal terms that anyone would recognize (at least in my opinion). His strong Alpha presence and Cuban heritage makes him a likeable, if not lovable character. He has skills, he knows it, and he uses them. And that’s hot! Kendall was a little different. Her mind is seriously warped. Almost to the point that I didn’t like her. I tried to be empathetic toward the character and found that I liked her a bit more when taking into consideration her circumstances and the crap she had dealt with. However, with the mental issues – you will notice it with some of the things she says – I revert back to “real life” and know that, as a couple, they would have one helluva long road ahead of them. But this is fiction, so it’s all sunshine and rainbows if we wish it, so OK. She’s also almost a contradiction of herself, exhibiting moments of extreme strength but cowering in fear at other times. I guess, in the end, I never really got a handle on her character and ultimately liked her, but didn’t love her.

I think I would read another book in this series because obviously the female leads won’t be the same character as Kendall, and I did very much enjoy Andre’s character. Additionally, Ms. Bartel did a good job with the secondary characters in the book. Both Andre’s team and Callan were developed to a point in which I’d like to read more about them. And I’d like to see where Ms. Bartel goes with other characters that don’t come from the same background as Kendall. Overall, I am always drawn to the romantic aspect of the story and for me, I was satisfied in that respect. I just regret not being able to connect with Kendall more. The story was somewhat harsh in both language and content and was just a bit too much for me. Maybe I am just too used to military reads glamorizing so much of the death and destruction. Others of you might read this book and react differently. Something like “hell yeah, finally, something I can sink my teeth in to”. But for me, I am fine with the romanticized versions. Despite my issues with this book, my strong like for Andre gives me pretty high hopes for the other books in the series. I’ll be sure to let you guys know what I think of them.

I loved Andre from the moment I met him in the Alpha Escort series. He didn’t seem as serious as the other guys, and was quite a flirt. The heroine is Kendall Reed, who we first met in Talon’s book. She works at Talon’s surf shop as a favour to Candle, the biker in the Lone Coasters MC that our heroes cross path with frequently. Everyone seems to think that Kendall is Candle’s old lady, but the truth is much darker.

Kendall has been looking over her shoulder for three years with good reason: she escaped from the cult she was born into. Her biological father is River Stephens, a sexual predator who fathered all the children born into the cult. He also has a predilection for having sex with all the girls and branding all his flock on their lower back. The government has been trying to get him on something illegal for years, but he’s smart.

Candle, a former cult member who was booted for giving Kendall a flower, helped her get out and has been shielding her from the cult ever since. However, one of the MC members sees Kendall’s brand and, since River Stephens has put a two million dollar bounty on her head (literally), everyone’s after her.

When Andre finds out who she is and what’s going on, he wants to help her. He’s long been attracted to her, but Kendall is prickly. She’s acidic and smart mouthed, and scared to let anyone get too close to her. She knows that her father wants her dead for escaping the cult and doesn’t think anyone can save her, so she pushes everyone away. Except Andre. She’s attracted to him but scared to let him get close in case he’s killed.

Andre doesn’t want to involve anyone else in helping Kendall, not his friends or his employees, but he reluctantly turns to Neil, who then of course brings everyone else on board, knowing they can’t do this on their own. It was nice to see Alex, Jared and Dane from the Escort series, along with the triplets from Neil’s book and some of Andre’s men. Kendall and Talon, despite working together, have never been friends… but it broke my heart to find out Kendall wanted to work for Talon because she knew he could protect her if the cult came for her. She never told him about them or who she was, and there’s a really sweet moment in the book when, after he finds out, he hugs her and tells her he would have protected her if he’d known.

Andre and co decide to storm the compound and offer a trade for the bounty on Kendall’s head. It all goes south, of course, but they find assistance from the man known as Hero. He was Kendall’s first lover, and he also wanted to protect her. She only realised after she got out how much Hero shielded her from River and his vileness. It turns out Hero wasn’t born into the cult, and his birth name is actually Callan – his story is book five in this series.

Kendall and Andre stop denying their attraction to each other, even though Kendall finds it hard to trust him (or trust anyone, really). She’s torn; she wants to be with him, tells him she wants to have his child, but still pushes him away. He understands she’s been conditioned and the last three years have been terrifying for her, on the run with an assumed name, unable to trust anyone and always looking over her shoulder, so he perseveres with her. He makes it clear she’s his woman and he will fight for her. In the end, Kendall is able to stop running, but she needs space so she holes up at a hotel that is right across from Andre’s penthouse. Hero/Callan finds her and tells Andre where she is, and he goes to get his girl. Hurrah!

Andre is the third book in the Uncompromising series by Sybil Bartel. This is a standalone story though, so don't worry about starting here if you haven't read the previous books in the series. While this was my first book of this series, I had no problems understanding anything. I liked this world that Sybil has created. It is a bit dark and gritty with the alphas that she is known for. While there was a lot to like her though, I did have a few issues with this story.

Andre is a former Marine that has now transitioned to civilian life and owns his own security firm. He is the best in the business, but all of that could come to an end when he comes face to face with Kendall Reed. What starts as an instant attraction between them quickly turns to more, though Andre never suspects who Kendall really is. But once he sees the mark on her back he knows that not only is she in danger, but that everything about his life has changed as well. Can Andre find a way to keep Kendall and himself safe?

I loved Andre. He was smart and sexy and all alpha. But I loved that he was caring and kind as well. He was a great guy and he was 100% devoted to Kendall, even knowing the risks that came along with that. I will say that things seemed to happen very quick for these two, especially when it came to what Andre was willing to do for her but I still loved him and believed that his actions were genuine. My biggest problem with this story was actually Kendall. She got on my nerves so much and unfortunately that never changed. I kept waiting for the moment when the switch would flip, but it never did. She remained the same throughout the entire story, no matter how much those around her were willing to sacrifice for her. She was selfish and only seemed to think of herself. While she had been through a lot, that only went so far to justify her actions and I just couldn't bring myself to like her.

Overall, I liked this world that Sybil has created and with the exception of Kendall, I liked the characters. Andre was great and I really liked Hero as well. I am excited to get to know him better, especially after the revelation at the end of this story. I really wish that I had been able to come around when it came to Kendall though as I wanted to love this one but wasn't able to. I do think that this was a good story though, and I enjoyed seeing how everything would play out. While I didn't like Kendall, I am very curious to read more in this world and would go back and read the previous books as well. I think that there are a lot of readers that will enjoy this one, and I urge you to give this one a shot if you think it sounds like one you might like.

From the first Bartel book I’ve read to the last, so far, Andre will always pop out. He’s just a side character who help his brothers, also ex-marines, and friends. He’s always the one who got their backs whenever they get their selves into some deep shit. Finally, our hot Cuban bodyguard has his own story.

First, let’s talk about Andre.

Out of all the alpha-male Sybil wrote, I think Andre is one of the fluffy one. I know, fluffy and Andre don’t go in one sentence. There’s nothing fluffy about Andre. He’s hard, built, a killer, and very alpha. However, as I read the book from Kendall’s (surprise, surprise! Kendall is his woman) point of view, he feels fluffy. His face would lit up whenever he smiles. And there’s no other alpha-male, both in the series and other, of Sybil that smile as often as Andre. And because of that, I find him fluffy.

Also, he’s the least alpha to all of them, but he is still alpha. I mean, sure he is as scary as the rest but he is not as intimidating. And I think I like that Andre is like that. He is not hard to love.

Let’s go to Kendall.

Bes, this woman is hardcore. Haha! She and Andre are perfect together. If Andre is fluffy, Kendall is all spikey. There’s nothing gentle in this woman. She’s a survivor and she’s very strong despite what happened to her. All the things she do towards Andre, every curse and verbal attacks, all of it were just her defense mechanism. And I seriously understand why that’s her kind of defense mechanism. I think of all the girls all these alpha-males have, Kendall is the strongest. That’s just for me though. I like her character.

I admit that I had a hard time liking Kendall’s character. That’s because she’s so bitchy most of the times. But when her background story was revealed, I understood her. And she’s not hard to like anymore.

I like the story of this book. Well, I actually like all the story of Sybil’s books. But I think I like this more. But not more than my baby Dane’s story. What I like about this is the action on the last part. Well, there not much that happened but I like it because all of the squad is present. And when I say all, I meant all of them including Vega, Brandt, and my baby Marek!

When they were gathered to do their mission of trade, my eyes were practically twinkling as I read this part. All of them were there! It’s like a reunion! And I couldn’t help feel like they were all there as payment for the times that Andre was also there with them when they needed a brother to cover the back. It was so touching and amazing, their friendship.

I kind of miss them, the squad. If it wasn’t a serious scene with life and death situation, I would’ve teared up. Haha! But yeah. it was a very awesome part and you could guess that it’s my favorite one.

And as always, Sybil worked her magic on the fast-paced romance of the book. Bes, I didn’t even noticed that it was fast paced. I was so into it that I practically ignored the timeline of the book. I swear, reading Sybil’s book will set a standard for fast-paced romance books that will be hard to reach. She’s that amazing!

Let’s go to the ending.

I’m gonna be honest, this has the worst ending I’ve ever read from Sybil’s works. It felt short and it didn’t reach my satisfaction. I mean, I was glad they had their HEA but, bes, it was abrupt! I mean, I wanted more! The ending didn’t felt like they’re actually going to live happily ever after. Not like the other books in the series and the other books of Sybil’s in general. Because the ending was abrupt, I was left with a feeling that I wanted more of Andre. I seriously wanted more!

Anyway, to wrap this up, this is still an amazing book. as always, I recommend reading this! I recommend reading all of Sybil Bartel’s works. This is not my last read of her work, that’s for sure. If you bessy is a fan of alpha-male in a fast-paced romance with steamy hot sex scenes, this one is for you. Grab it now!

What can I say? I LOVED this book.

Being honest, this was the first book I read from the series and if I am being more honest with you, it was the ONLY book from series that caught me so bad lol. I was so interested in Neil's story but it just didn't do for me and I read Candle's story just because Kendall and André have a good presence there so yes, I love this couple so much.

So about this book.

The story was good enough to catch you from the beginning to the end. Characters were what I look for in every book. Strong Alpha male Hero without being an headache and a strong heroine that takes no shit from anyone. To be honest, the synopsis of this book is a bit different from what I expected this story to be (the events did happen but it happened differently from I was expecting, not sure if I am being clear without being very spoil-ish)

André was the perfect alpha. No bullshiting you. He protects, he attacks, he possesses, he loves.
You will definietly love our Cuban boy. He is the perfect man Kendall, our chica, needed.

Now, Kendall... from other reviews, it seems she annoyed the hell out of some readers and I still gave it a chance because I have a weakness for the strong, gorgeous, cunning, smartass comebacks, and a big mouth (sometimes lol)’ heroine.

The first chapters, her character confused me, like all hate to the world and everyone but honestly, once you get to know her and her story, you will love her. Lover boy, I feel you.
I mean, what do you expect. The woman didn't have anyone to rely on fully, she had a death sentence on her back and a pretty shitty background I mean, I totally understand her and that’s why I love André, he was so perfect for her, yes I said it before and I will keep saying it haha

The sex in this book. THE SEX. I don't know but having André saying 'Chúpame and estás bella' on bed it is like yes for everything. Having André saying 'you make me fall, mi amor' when you smile is like purifying your soul and giving you clear skin or when you in the nightclub full of people but he only having eyes on you and saying 'sexy, chica, sexy' is like I don't know, the best thing ever.

If you have followed Sybil Bartel stories, you will get a glimpse of some heroes of her other series and books. Not saying who but even though I didn't read theirs stories I was like hey I know this man even though I didn't read the story because he was an ass so hey.

Give it a try to this book

Kendall Reed has a past that she wouldn't wish upon another soul, it has left her scarred beyond repair and riddled with memories she wish would just go away permanently. She is constantly looking over her shoulder waiting for it to finally catch up to her and make a reappearance, and when it does she is sure it will be something she never recover from. But in all the times she has imagined it she never thought she'd have a sexy protector standing beside her to face it head on...

Andre is a man of many talents, one of those being a protector, and his newest client may just be the hardest one he has come across to protect, and possibly the most beautiful one too. He met Kendall a few months ago, things didn't go well, and since then she is all he has been able to think of, unfortunately she belongs to someone else, and he can't bring himself to cross a friend to be with her. But sometimes things aren't quite what they appear to be...

Andre is a sultry, dark, and emotionally rich read that will shake you to your core, and leave you breathless. This is by far one of the best reads that I have settled down with in quite a while, from the moment my eyes landed on the first page they took a hold of me, made my emotions started to swirl and even a day later and it still has me rattled! Ms. Bartel really did a number on me with this one, it had emotional depth, intense dark moments, an action packed story line that kept me teetering on the edge of my seat, and scorching intimate moments that left me with a permanent blush! I have been dying to get up close and personal with Andre since our first meeting, there was just something about the man that drew me in, and I have to say I'm beyond happy with what I discovered, he surpassed all my expectations!! Highly recommend this newest offering in The Uncompromising series, it's sure to keep you captivated from start to finish!

With every single book I read by Sybil Bartel, my love grows and grows. Not only does each story pull me into the twists and turns leaving me wondering what will be coming next for the characters.

I've been looking forward to Andre's book since I read Talon, then Neil, then the rest - Andre has been such a huge part of each of Bartel's books, even with only minor involvement there's always been that question of Who exactly is this man and what don't I know about him. When I discovered who his heroine would be I was anxious because she's another character I had so many questions about and I could just see how things wouldn't be smooth and easy for these two.

Andre is full of twists and turns and unexpected secrets all while being action packed, swoony, and hot at the same time. The backstory of this heroine and how it's made her who she is and how it affects her future as well as the past is just brilliantly told and intriguing. Andre's in for the ride of his life with this one and whether he knows it or not he's been preparing for this for a long time.

As with other novels by this author, there's always a character or two who flitters through the next, in a minor part or more and adds something more to it. That is no different in Andre's book - we see a lot of characters we know and love which builds on the previous evidence of the family built by these Alpha men and the care they have for not just one another but the women who get involved with their family. It's a beautiful thing to see and watch play out and it's always nice to get small updates about past characters of course.

This story comes together fabulously dragging me thorugh the pages panting for more and leaving me impressed at all these characters have endured and how it's built them.

We can fairly say that I am a big fan of Sybil’s books as I have read a reviewed quite a few of them on my site. To be honest with you, I am always looking forward to the next one to come out and André is not different!

Alright, so the last book I have reviewed was Grind from her Thrust series, the main male characters tend of show in both of her series which is great as I tend of really love those ex-military alphas!

Here we have the story of André and Kendall. We met Kendall before as she worked for Talon and it was good to see her again! She is very feisty and now we really get to dig deeper and understand on how she came to be who she is.

Of course, we have also seen André before but now he gets his own story with Kendall and the pair is made in sparks heaven!

If you have read any of Sybil’s book no matter which series, then you know what you are getting: a steamy romance, lots of action and very strong personalities all together. One thing you need to know is that though part of a series, you can read each book as a stand alone. As I mentioned before, the characters are closely bonded and tend to be seen on a regular basis cross series and books.

I am not going to go too much into details about the plot, but based on the above synopsis, you know what you will get and trust me, Sybil never disappoints!

Like never!

If you are looking for a good romance, sparks flying off the pages and are keen on strong alpha males, then this is the book (and series) for you. I always recommend Sybil’s book and this one will be no different.

I only put it down when I was done and not a second early!

Trust me you are going to love Kendall and Andre’s story.

Andre is definitely full of TONS of hot, steamy scenes between Andre and Kendall. I mean, prepare to be fanning yourself and sticking your head in the freezer from time to time. I love alpha male characters and absolutely loved Andre, however, there were times I struggled with the conversation/looks/etc between him and Kendall. I felt like things sped along a bit too fast from just fighting the attraction to each other to wanting to be together to discussing children and so on. Regardless, Andre was absolutely yummy and most-definitely a strong, sexy, alpha male. It took awhile for Kendall to grow on me because she was always so defensive and angry - but once more of her past is revealed I could completely understand where the attitude came from. This young woman had not had an easy life (putting it lightly) and anything having to do with a relationship such as trust and vulnerability was extremely difficult for her.

This novel is very action-packed and has numerous edge-of-your-seat moments, so don't plan on this being a light-hearted, cozy read. There is humor, chemistry, emotion, danger, suspense, and so on. In the midst of all of these, there are also a lot of sexual moments that actually made me laugh at loud at times because they would be in such dangerous situations but take the time to stop and make out! Anyway, this is a fantastic roller coaster ride that will have you burning up the pages to find out what happens with this brave but risky couple!

Sybil Bartel is a one click author. It’s as simple as that. And Andre, her latest novel in the Uncompromising Series… *sighs* Is good. Like, really, really good.

Take one smokin’ hot Cuban alpha, a sassy spitfire who is more broken than whole, a heavily armed cult, and a security firm intent on bringing it to justice, and you have everything you need for an epic binge reading session.

I know, right? What an awesome premise for a romantic suspense.

Let’s take a moment to focus on heroine, Kendall Reed. Now, there are many authors who attempt to write ‘broken’ MC’s. There are many who fall short because rather than draw the reader in, the abrasiveness of the character repels them instead. Bartel, however, manages to tease empathy not only from the reader, but from the hero and minor characters as well. Yes, Kendall is defensive and abrupt. Yes, she is unapologetic at times. But damn, the fact she is still standing after being served what is arguably the most challenging hand life could possibly throw at a person, says everything about her courage. A courage she never trusted. A courage she never believed in. Until Andre.

Cue ovaries exploding in three … two … one.

Boom. Gone.

Prepare to be glued to your Kindle. Prepare for sparks to shoot from your device. Prepare to have your heart ripped open only to have it sewn back together again.

Prepare for one hell of a read.

Another good read from Sybil, this one is about Andre, the ex sniper Marine who now runs his own security firm. He met Kendall a few months ago and hasn't been able to forget about her.

Kendall Reed has a dangerous past life, one she is running from and one she can't let anyone know about. She is strong, sassy and stubborn, not easy to like, and can't get the sexy Cuban Alpha of Andre Luna out of her head.

A really good read this, action packed and fast paced. Andre and Kendall are complete opposites, they clash, they argue, all the while they are falling head of heels for each other. I loved Andre, so sexy and dominant, with his sultry Cuban looks and deep Alpha growl, just yum! Kendall is a great opposite to him, with everything she has been through she is one strong woman, stubborn and fiery, and their chemistry together is pure sexiness!!

This had me glued to the book from the start with its great storyline, full of twists and turns. I love how Sybil includes other characters from the series in her books, its great to see how they all work together in a team!! Highly recommended reading here.

This is a me not you type of thing.

After reading the first couple of pages I was unsure if I would really connect or even like the heroine. She seemed a bit too much, too harsh and too broken. I ended up reading several reviews on bookreads. Now, I’ve decided to not read this one. Not just because of the heroine, but also because of the hero. He’s been part of the previous books, and throughout I’ve never once been eager to hear his story. I’m fine with both of them staying side characters and nothing more.

Plot:
The girl, Kendall, has lived with a biker, Candle, for protection. When her past catches up to her, Candle sends her to Andre, a guy with his own security firm. Turns out she escaped a cult where her father is the leader, and they have been searching for her ever since. Candle, with the help from his colleagues, saves her and they fall in love. After being raised in an environment so damaging, she’s seriously mentally broken but Andre seems to be the one guy to fix her and give her a somewhat normal life.

OK.  Lets be honest shall we?  Romance novels aren't true to life.  We wouldn't read them if they were.  No - what we want to read is about the guy who falls hard for the girl - who wants to take care of her.  And if, like this book, there is some off the charts chemistry with some sexy times thrown in, who am I to complain?

If you don't want that from a book, then this one is not for you.  However, if you want to escape into the pages of a hot as hell contemporary romance, with a character that I have been wanting to read more of for a while, then you may be onto something here.

I am not always a fan of instalove to this depth, because it often feels forced.  With Ms Bartel's books, I've found it to be something which was consistent with the storyline, and so it never really felt jarring for me.

This is just a sexy, action packed read.
