Joley McBride had no interest in Nate Garrigan…even though he’d made it crystal clear that he wanted her. The rich and handsome rancher was the kind of man she'd sworn off years ago.
But now, part of her beloved flying school was in his hands and Joley would do anything to get it back—including agree to his arrogant demand that she spend a month on his isolated cattle prop ...more

This story was just ok. It was engagingly written, but could’ve been a lot shorter as the conflicting emotions and ensuing inner monologue of the MCs were recycled a lot. The characterization was decent, but there was the small matter of the H blackmailing the h into doing what he wanted. The angst was decent but started to drag after a while. This story would also have benefited from another edit as there were quite a few word usage and other grammatical errors. I didn’t love this story but it

I love a story where you're drawn in from page one and Helen Lacey's The Cattlemans Proposal did just that for me.

Joley McBride had zero interest in Nate Garrigan. He was the type of man she had fallen for in the past...and it always ended in heartbreak. She needed to steer clear.
When news arrives that her business partner and best friend had put their flight school into financial ruin, she was devastated to find that Patrick had sold his shares to his new brother-in-law, Nate Garrigan without talking to her and her father. Now he holds her and her father's business in his hands and she will do whatever it ...more

Every woman dreams of a rich successful good looking man to sweep her off her feet. But what if the proposal is merely to satisfy his own needs, and all you are to be is his bed-mate and mother of his children.
Sounds completely unacceptable, yet this is the situation Joley faces in the new Helen Lacey read. Mr-I-don't-believe-in-happy-ever-after- Nate knows what he wants and what he wants is Joley.

The Cattleman’s Proposal by Helen Lacey
If you love romance stories you must put this on your list to read.
Joley McBride has been running a flight school with her father and her best friend Patrick. She thought of the last purchases of the Cessna’s as perhaps too costly and when she realized that her flight school was in financial troubles she realized she was right. The Cattleman’s Proposal is a fresh, flirty romantic story which introduces Helen Lacey’s Men of Mulhany Crossing series. It tells the story of Joley McBride and Nate Garrigan. Joley wants to deny her attraction to Nate because she thinks he’s too arrogant. She attempts to block him out but somehow can’t. Things get a little haywire when Joley finds out Nate bought shares into the flight school run by her family. Stubborn and feisty, Joley vows to do whatever it takes to regain full control of t ...more

"The Cattleman's Proposal" by Helen Lacey is Book 1 in 'The Men of Mulhany Crossing' series. A fast, easy, enjoyable read. We met Nate Garrigan who was married to a woman who 'he thought' was the love of his life, but she left him. He meets Joley McBride who also has a love of her life but instead of a person it's flying.
When Nate and Joley get together he is looking for someone to be a wife and mother, and she sees her friends all getting married but never thought of being married herself. She ...more

For the ones that thought this was a boring, remember it's a light read and as for that ,I didn't think it was boring. It was a good plot and characters. And as for typos and white pages, come on . Enjoy the book and don't pick it to death. it's a good story and I liked it. ...more

A feisty yet sweet introduction to Helen Lacey's Men of Mulhany Crossing series! Great characters ... I look forward to seeing more of them as the series continues!
Joley McBride doesn't like Nate Garrigan when she meets him during a friend's wedding festivities, and she tries really hard to deny the attraction she feels for him too! She thinks he's arrogant and used to getting his own way and doesn't want any type of relationship with him. When she finds out he's bought into her family run Fligh ...more

Joley is a pilot who according to her mom is at an age where she should have settled with a husband and a couple of kids. But she is not because trusting is not something she could easily do. She has been burnt before. A fact her mom knows nothing about.
Nate is a cattleman who want Joley for wife but does not want there to be any romantic nonsense in their relationship. He too has been burnt. Something everyone knows about.

The Cattleman’s Proposal by Helen Lacey is an entertaining story of a man going about romance in a very unusual way. Both Joley and Nate are reluctant to put their hearts on the line, especially considering they had their fair share of heartache in life.
To Joley her flight school is her life and when her business partner puts it in jeopardy, she needs Nate’s help getting out of trouble. Nate knows what he wants, and it is Joley. He is completely up front about what he wants from Joley but he ne ...more

This book is hard to review. I've complained before about Goodreads rating system and I wish they could fix it for new books. The 5 star ratings hurts books like this. This is better than a 3, but I can't really give it a 4. This is probably a 3.5. I would recommend this book - it is will written, sweet, a little steam, and I l adored Nat and Joley. It was an easy read and a great way to pass the time waiting for the superbowl to start and ignore work :) Some of the story felt a little rushed, m

This book didn't work for me. The story was a little cliche while being overly conservative, or at least excessively concerned about propriety. I found the heroine to be massively uncertain and a bit immature. There was a ridiculous amount of internal dialogue and "should I/shouldn't I", making the story drag. The chemistry was constantly referenced, but it never came across to me as the reader. It was a case of tell vs show. Finally, I found the writing and description ...more

Nate and Joley both have trust issues. Joley doesn't trust men and she is so busy trying to save her family business. Nate wants a family but doesn't really believe love lasts. Put these two together add some angst and an accident that makes them see things differently and you have another fantastic story by Ms. Marshall. You will find yourself cheering for them to find what they both truly want. Such a lovely story to curl up in a comfy chair with.

A sweet read with some stubborn characters. Strong heroine, which I always enjoy. I love flying so I was excited when I read she was a pilot. It's something I always wanted to do and never had the opportunity. Anyway the book had very few errors and was well written. I very much enjoyed the writing style. Good read all around. ...more
