“What’s this,” she wondered, peering into the hole in the tree. There was something like an old bird’s nest inside, with a piece of paper on top, sticking out like a plant growing towards the light. “Why, it’s an envelope, and there’s writing on it.” For The Little Girl Who Lives Here, it read.

Short adventurous read in which two monumental revolution in the Philippine history were met half-in-half through Alice's and Crispin's curiosity. This story makes it easier for children to grasp how important history is - how our forefathers fought with all they have just so we can enjoy the freedom we have today as Filipinos.

Plot twist minimal but for children it might become a good reminder of how family ties in the Philippines are treated in significance.

I think this a great book for elementary-grade 7/8 students to learn a little bit about our history, and at the same time, enjoy the fiction aspects of this book.

I liked it. Gonna recommend this to some of my pamangkins and inaanak.

Wow, this book is too short but will really leave a mark on its readers. And will give us a glimpse of the two revolutions that happened in the Philippines.

Here's a Cyan Abad-Jugo historical fiction about the 1896 and 1986 Philippine Revolutions!

I have devoured this book in a single sitting. Toooo cute and tooo adventurous! It is greatly wooven, and creatively illustrated, especially for the next generation to see a glimpse of the past.

A good children's book about the two Philippine Revolutions

This book reminds me why we must study history. Not for anything else but to understand where we came from and who we should become, which should guide our present values. The Philippine identity is slowly being forgotten by the next generation, this is a good book to start the conversation about the past.

Simple and imaginative.

If I was still in elementary and a teacher will assign a book to discuss or if a teacher wants to talk about Philippine history in the most discrete way, I would recommend this.
