This one was fun. I liked all the characters. I liked the plot which I found very intriguing. I am a bit disappointed with another cliff hanger :-( but I will most certainly be reading the rest of the books in this series. I hope they are written just as well as this one....

oh, almost forgot...the sex scenes were really really well written

This was a really different read for me, Lila has escaped a very unsafe marriage. Her husband has been in control of her life since her mother died 10 years ago. For the last 5 years she has been living on an island with her husband with very little contact with anyone else. When an opportunity to escape comes about she flees to the USA to try and make a new life for herself.

This is how she ends up working at the Xanadu luxury resort as their new concierge. This resort is a high end brothel of sorts, catering to the rich and famous, where any sexual fantasy you may have can become a reality.

Lila has very little sexual experience herself so her eyes are well and truly opened working here. And the same thing happens to her thighs.... She is a beautiful woman and this has not gone unnoticed by other staff members. She is enjoying living freely for the first time in years and the safety that Xanadu offers her is something she has been craving for a while now.

Then here past comes crashing back into her present and Lila is in the depths of despair. However, there may be some unlikely heroes on her side this time!

You know, there is a reasonable storyline under all the sex scenes. Now, I enjoy reading an erotic novel as much as the next, but for me, some of the sex scenes were simply gratuitous, and didn't take the story any further forward - almost as if the author just threw in some extra titillation for the sake of it. And if I'm completely honest, this distracted me from the plot somewhat.

That said, I liked the characters. I enjoyed their various interactions. I even thought that the ending was well worked, even though it is a huge cliff hanger. I await book 2 in the series with interest.

Review:
“She was right. He liked his sex rough and kinky, with absolutely no strings attached. The women he sought out were earthy, experienced, and not easily shocked. Lila was the complete opposite of all that.”

4 sinfully sexy stars!! I’m still fanning myself after reading!!

Lila has just escaped her abusive and controlling husband….looking for anywhere to go, as long as she is safely away from him. She stumbles upon a mountaintop resorts, that’s much more than the spa she was hoping for. Xanadu is a spa, but it offers other services for their guests, secret services really. While here she meets the elusive and powerful Hudson, who hires her on. After that the book takes all kinds of sexy, twisted turns and will definitely keep you on your toes!

This book is scorching hot and definitely worth the read! But prepare yourself, it’s dark, dirty, gritty and will take you for a ride!!

At first, I was a little apprehensive to start reading this book. I like a good erotica as well as the net person ;-) but only if they have a good story line and believable characters to go with the great sex, which so many erotic authors nowadays seem to overlook. However, I needn’t have worried! I loved this book and read it pretty much in one sitting.

Well-written and with a great, eclectic mix of characters, I was really drawn into the story, not only wanting to know more about Lila’s life, but also about the lives of the people around her. Bruno and Jon intrigued me, as did Debbie and Chantal, and I hope to hear more of their stories in the next book. I’m also interested in how the situation with Lila, Hudson and Rena will work out… I’m not a big fan of love triangles, as many of you will know, but this worked. Probably because technically it was just sex, not actually relationships, and it’s kind of obvious that Hudson and Lila will end up together (fingers crossed, anyway!). The threat of her controlling husband wasn’t as prominent as it could have been, but again, it worked for the story and I was not expecting that brilliant, but very creepy, twist at the end.

I have to say, there wasn’t really anything I didn’t like about this book. The sex scenes were hot, but not as erotic as I was expecting, but then I’m a big fan of Cherise Sinclair and she set the bar pretty high! Also, I lost a little bit of respect for both Rena and Hudson at the end, when they thought Lila had just left, as if they knew nothing about her and thought she’d be so disloyal and irresponsible as to just leave without a word. However, the only real reason I’m not giving this book a full 5 stars is because of the cliff-hanger ending; I want to see how everything gets sorted out before deciding. Therefore, I’m eagerly awaiting the next book, which apparently should be out soon (near the end of May 2016).

Lila has finally escaped an incredibly controlling and abusive marriage. It took her years to get away from a man who has controlled her since she was a teenager. She has found an employment opportunity that she not only succeeds at, but that allows her a variety of experiences she has always wanted but was denied. Lila now has friends, lovers, and a job she is good at, but everything could disappear if she is found by her ex-husband.

This story got me hooked quickly and I read it straight through once I started. I immediately felt for Lila and admired the way she was able to dig her way out of a terrifying situation and find her way in a world she hadn't been allowed to really live in before. I loved seeing her get to finally experience some of the pleasure and friendship that she deserves. I enjoyed the peripheral characters in this story as well. The ending of this story pretty much ensured that I will be anxious to pick up the next in the series. I look forward to seeing what happens next. 3.5 stars

Please sir I want some more (now)! This book was an awesome read. It had a lot of really interesting goings on and some fun and of course great sexy parts. That cliffhanger! Man, you've got me hooked good!
Lila is on the run from her obscenely wealthy husband who has controlled her every moment for the past 10 years. After some frightening experiences while avoiding her husbands private detectives she ends up seeing an add for a job being a "special concierge" at the Xanadu Resort in Carmel, CA. It includes accommodations and seems like a lifesaver to Lila. She hopes to find a safe haven but she doesn't expect to find the many sexual amenities that the resort provides to its fabulously wealthy clients. Lila is about to experience a whole world she never could have imagined and forge meaningful relationships (friendships and more ;) ) that she has always desired. But unfortunately for Lila the past hasn't let her go.
I seriously can't wait for the second book to come out.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Trouble started early for Lila, picking my interest right from the first chapter. I immediately wanted to know more about Robert and what could possibly make a supposed 'prince charming' become this obsessive monster Lila wanted to run away from at all cost. I was enthralled by the author's writing style and presentation of just enough back story to keep me wanting more. The heat turned up pretty quickly too. I certainly wasn't expecting it at that point. I absolutely loved the author's ability to surprise me with events and steamy scenes that were both exciting and cringe worthy at the same time. What a blend!

EROTIC!!!! This was one of the most erotic stories I have ever read. M/M - F/F - M/F - BDSM and references to all kinds of other interesting abbreviations including DP :). This ended on a cliffhanger.

This story has been done many times before. Some hidden site where they perform hedonistic rituals to satisfy the fantasies of wealthy eccentrics. There is nothing wrong with that idea. It is a premise that leaves a lot of room for the imagination.

I think the author did a good job of taking the reader into another world where normal people do not exist. The story is imaginative with a few twists. Fantasy at its finest.

I would have given 5 stars, but the author got a little wordy at times. Often spending a lot of time describing things that weren’t meaningful. I prefer more concise writing.

There were plenty of intense sex scenes. Although I got tired of the characters “groaning” their pleasure. If you enjoy erotica there is plenty here to like.

I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. I did not receive any type of compensation for reading and reviewing this book.

Sexy without being vulgar, this book highlights the underground activities of a resort. Randerod's characters are believable and well-developed. Her talent for describing the environment makes you feel like you are there. A fun, light read.

As the first instalment of a new series, this had a lot going for it.
Lila is on the run and the fact that it is her husband that has her burning up the miles left me with a slightly unsettled feeling, the fleeting snippets that are revealed about her past make for concerned reading about where the dynamic of the book was heading.
Lili didn’t know normal, no aspect of her life had ever been normal, so we find her initially hotfooting it off the latest greyhound bus into a backwater town in the hope that by laying low she can continue to remain out of Robert’s grasp.
But this man’s money buys means and his commitment to owning her means that he will stop at absolutely nothing to get her back.
His resources are relentless and she has to keep her wits about her but she finds help in the most unexpected place and I was pleased when later in the novel she was able to repay the favour.
Finding an opportunity to not only garner employment but to remain completely off the grid, Lili falls on her feet when he is employed by Hudson Hyde as the new special concierge at his very, very exclusive Xanadu Resort.
Rena, is Hudson’s business partner and it is she that has the job of illustrating to Lili all the aspects of the role that she will be expected to undertake, and while it wasn’t what you would normal find on any job spec, I had no doubt that Lila had the acumen to excel.
And she quickly demonstrated that she was a darn site more than a pretty face.
The Resort is everything that you would expect an exclusive resort to be, but it also offers a very exclusive selection of special requests for the more discerning clientele and they have a stable of consorts that are the best in the business. Hudson and Rena leave nothing to chance in their demand of excellence and their guests pay handsomely for that privilege.
Lila definitely grows into her new position and in time she grows closer to some of the other workers too, but who well, what would be the point in me telling you, you will need to read that for yourself.
But it is one offsite visit with Chantal and Lexi that upsets the whole applecart and sends Lila into a tailspin…caught off guard when she is recognised by a friend of Robert’s I couldn’t help but try to figure out what impact that would have on her future.
How much longer will she be able to stay at the resort?
I think I read the last quarter of the book waiting for the hammer to fall and for her new found and hard fought independent to all fall part, for her demon to rear his ugly head and force her back to a life that she would rather die than be subjected to again.
But when things kick up a gear and Robert re-enters the frame it is as a far more complex and convoluted character than I had or could have ever imagined.
Money should does breed a completely different level of crazy.
I finished the book, furious with Lexi and wondering where Hudson and Rena are going to turn in their attempt to undo Robert’s madness.
Could they be the answer to Lili’s prayers? Time will tell but they have a lot of ground to make up.

The book contains as expected a significant sexual content but it was handled very tastefully and wasn’t gratuitous in any way.
It was more of an emotional story than I considered it would be, I was intrigued by the unrequited feelings that Bruno has for Jon…I hope there is more to come on that score.
And I also think that Lexi has more to contribute, I have a sneaky feeling that banishing her from the resort will do nothing other than confirm her conspiracy.

Lila Jones (former fashion model) had just left Los Angeles on a Greyhound bus.
Robert Von Frederick (40, Lila’s husband, Swiss banker) was in hot pursuit.
Lilia (27) is applying for a concierge position.
Hudson Hyde (GM) & Rena Hudson are in business together.

The place is called Xanadu Resort.
Mistress Rena is doing the interviews.
Bruno is the security detail & Sally works there also.

The woman concierge’s who also work there are: Gwen, Kiki (Japanese), Clara, Debbie, Lexi, & the men concierge’s are: Jon, Thom, Dylan, Nigel.
Shannon (wife) & Greg (husband), were the customers for the day.
Chantal had saved Lilia from a horrible incident, now she is also going to work at Xanadu Resort.
What does Lexi know about Delilah?

Warning: This book contains extremely graphic adult content, violence, or expletive language &/or uncensored sexually explicit material which is only suitable for mature readers. It may be offensive to some readers.

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written mild erotic mystery book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great mild erotic mystery movie, or a mini TV series. Not bad so I will rate it at 5 stars.

The title of this erotic novel ought perhaps to have been ‘Pleasure Resort’—because patrons come to the resort to obtain all kinds of sexual pleasures and to act out fantasies that they can’t at home. The lead character in the novel, Lila, is sucked into the seedy world of the exclusive outpost quite unknowingly when, while on the run from a most-controlling older husband, she answers an ad for the cryptic job of a ‘special concierge.’
Lila is a very likeable and relatable character. She carves a new world for herself in an environment so unlike one she grew up in; and initially has to put up with a precarious although sexually attractive boss. With time she is caught up in a love triangle, or should I say sex triangle, involving the said resort’s handsome boss, and her immediate supervisor, an uptight woman named Rena.
There are lots of F/F and M/M sex scenes in the novel, and I must add that while I found the F/F sex very titillating, I was completely turned off by the M/M. (I’m biased, am I not?)
Roselynn’s prose and style of writing is up there with the best and were it not that I was reviled by the male to male acts, I would have given her five stars.

The Goodreads group Read It & Reap provided a copy of the ePub in exchange for an honest review.

Roselynn Randerod’s steamy romance Remote Resort: Runaway starts off with Lila’s quest to escape her abusive relationship. She is determined to live her own life and unexpectedly finds her way to a remote resort, Xanadu, as an employee. It certainly is not the kind of resort she had expected. Hudson, one of the co-owners of the resort is immediately drawn to Lila. Can she work for this man and remain professional?

The strength of the well-developed characters sets the tone of this novel. The primary and secondary characters have clear and identifiable voices and behaviors. Although the story has many twists and turns the author keeps the plot moving quickly. The reader will be shocked as disturbing secrets are exposed.

Remote Resort: Runaway is not a stand-alone read. Lila’s dangerous journey is far from over—cliffhanger! Looking forward to the next installment in the Remote Resort series.

3.5 stars. Given for an homest review. I enjoyed the book for the most part. There were a few times the author messed up some of the names, ie; she called Robert Richard, and mixed up the names of some of the other characters also. It got a lil confusing at times because of that. Besides those small discrepancies it was pretty well written. All of the characters were interesting. And oh the cliffy!! Can't wait for the next book. Dying to know how this ends. Please, please, let the second book be out now...

So I created a new tag for this series: they're all cliffhangers. I've read one other series like that, and it, too, was compelling enough to continue. Though honestly, I'm not sure these are worth the $3.99 price tag. Just my opinion. Still, it was a compelling story, and each one so far has ended on a cliffy where you kinda need to read the next one. The author does a good job of weaving various stories together and introducing new couples (from existing characters) and new storylines. But boy do I wish I had waited until they're all out before reading them. :-/

Because I read them all so close together, I'm never going to remember what happened in which book, so I'm not even going to try. But these are all pretty darn steamy, and you're likely to find at least one instance of whatever you're looking for among the pages. M/F? Got it. F/F? Yup. Multiples? Yes. Spanking? Sure. BDSM? Yes. Pegging? Yup. Pretty darn steamy.

It’s been a while

since I read one of these.
Writing is on point, characters are interesting enough even if somewhat archetypical.
The story is compelling and erotic in equal measure and thoroughly enjoyable.
Had to go buy the other books because I must definitely know how it all ends.

First book I have reviewed for this group, though I have done several on Amazon. I have recently read several paranormal/erotic books and thought I would extend the erotic to other areas. Ergo, Remote Resort: Runaway. Found the book interesting, but was a little surprised at the "harsher" sex (anal penetration) right off the bat. Usually, I find these books start small and build, in this case it worked from harsh to instruction/practice, sort of the reverse of what is often found. Anyway, I won't get into discussing overall plot nor explanation of setting, this other reviewers have done in their reviews. I will say that I was intoxicated by Lila (leading lady),as Hudson (leading male) was. The characters are described and perform their parts well in the story, and the earlier anal scene I mentioned was entirely appropriate to time and place to story. One can imagine that such a story might really occur given the setting/remoteness/wealth and power of some persons. After all the setting is not to far from the Hearst properties further down the coast. No reference made to a lifestyle, only the massive wealth involved and remoteness of his Xanadu. If you read this book there is a mystery you will solve, which you find while you read it, but I will let you find that for yourself - I am sure to purchase the next book to see where it goes. In closing I have a question for Rena, the "Board Certified Psychologist Specializing in Sexual Therapy; as I read this erotic prose, "What socially redeeming qualities does the book have, or Xanadu for that matter." It would be interesting to hear her answer. If you read it enjoy it.

I received this book in exchange for a review.

Lila is on the run from her husband. She has tried to escape him before. He has money and power. He always finds her. She finds what she thinks is a safe place at a remote resort. She is still afraid he will find her though. She has an enemy in Lexi. Lexi wants Hudson for herself. She can tell Hudson is interested in Lila. She finally finds a way to get Lila out of the way. She tells her husband where she is. Robert kidnaps Lila again. The book is left on a cliffhanger. You don't know what is going to happen to Lila.

I enjoyed the book. This book may not be for someone who doesn't like sex scenes. There is some F/F and M/M sex. The book does need some editing though. I would like to read the next one to find out if Lila will be rescued.
