Screw love, make money.

That had become my new motto. I promised myself I wouldn’t get too close to anyone again because it always blew up in my face.

Then I met her, the devil in a pair of six-inch heels. I tried to avoid her like the plague and treated her as if she were made of poison, but she wouldn’t back down.

One night I let my guard down.

One night changed everything.

My bandmates were counting on me. Fame was knocking at my door.

But temptation knocked a little harder and now I may be royally screwed—and not in a good way.

Now i need to read the first book!!!

I can't believe that I forgot to post my review of this book. I received an arc that was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. But that last statement doesn't matter because I actually purchased my own copy because this book was that good. Penelope and Reginald are one smoking hot couple. I love reading about music inspired romances. This rock band is so good that I wish they were real. P and R go through it but to know how they end up you'll have to get your own copy. Look at that cover BTW hot hot hot!!!

Not Feeling It

This books storyline had potential but it never really flowed right for me. It was almost like reading an article, I wasn't engaged in the story. Reginald was awful to Penelope throughout most of the book and I really wished she grew a pair and stopped giving in just because of "amazing sex" The book was saved for me by the epilogue, I want to believe that Reginald can feel something for someone other than himself.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I enjoyed this story and the characters of Reginald (Reggie) and Penelope. This was a different storyline and the book maybe fiction, but the storyline can be related to true-life situations. This story is an engaging one that was entertaining, but touched some difficult subjects. This is the first time I read a book by this author, Niquel, but I assure you, it will not be the last. The story kept you reading to the end to find out what happened. When reading the story, it may make you feel sad, confused, appalled, and even euphoric. What moves me is just how the author was able to make their situation seem credible and realistic—their hurts, ambivalence, etc. Reggie had a difficult life growing up, and that should have driven him to walk a straight path, but we all have to pay for the choices we make. Because of his bad choice, this might bring an end to something and someone he cared so much about. Penelope knew it was wrong to get involved with him, but she saw something worthwhile in Reggie to save him. Will Penelope give up on Reggie, and will Reggie be able to walk the straight path again? The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next while the strong charismatic characters draw readers in and refuse to let go. This story will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end.

Reginald by Author Niquel is a dark and gritty look into the life of a beautifully broken soul.

I started Reginald right after finishing Jamison, the first book in Niquel's Spasm Rocker's series. I had already met Reginald, I was already privy to some of his issues. I knew going in the story would be different from my normal read.

Reginald is a truly broken soul. At times I struggled to connect with him. I disapproved of his actions and the way he treated not only is friends and bandmates but especially Penelope.

Although, I also struggled with my acceptance of Penelope and her actions. I had a hard time connecting with her at times. I have come to realize however, that the heart wants what the heart wants.

Reginald and Penelope are two broken souls with a host of baggage lucky enough to find their other half in this great big scary world.

Niquel writes of a world I have little to no knowledge of. A world that is dark and dangerous and downright scary. A world where life is utterly fragile.

I didn't write this review right after completing the book. I took my time to feel the story, to try and understand the story. A day later I believe that this story is one of resounding truth and acceptance. No matter who you are or what you go through or what demons chance you, you deserve that happily ever after.

Reginald had a hard life bouncing from one foster home to another. Where he grew up, a person was either addicted to alcohol or drugs or both ... himself included. When he was 17, his pregnant girlfriend was killed, the only thing other than drugs to sooth him was music. 7 years later when his rock band is on the cusp of becoming famous, he gets a causal fling (Penelope) pregnant. I hated how he just used her for sex ... and worse yet, she let him! I'm not sure what kind of message that sends to young women and even men ... that it's okay to use a women and she will always just take it and wait for him to give her little pieces of him ... when and if he chooses. I found Penelope to be weak and unable to stand up for herself. Actually this book just made me mad ... but I guess it was the author's intent for you to feel emotion of some sort. I also guess that it was more realistic than hearts and flowers all the time.

I received an ARC copy from the author in exchange for a honest review.

Description:
Book two in The Spasm Rocker Series
Runs parallel to Book One (Takes place at the same time)
Standalone with supporting character's crossover from book one
Recommended reading book one first as this does have a spoiler in 70% in about book one. Trust me they are both are totally worth reading.
Reginald's story draws you in with its real life situations. Reginalds story is raw, a bit sad with heartbreaking moments & the writing absolutely gives justice & portrays the hardships of growing up in the foster system perfectly. The premise of the novel intrigued me & the prologue drew me in & kept me captivating to the end. Reginald & character is complex & well seasoned. Penelope is sassy & spunky. Supporting character's accentuates the story. Sex, drugs, & rock and roll all wrapped up into a enthralling read. I love music lyrics throughout the book as it makes it fill more real. I absolutely loved this novel. I'm looking forward to reading the next novel in this series which I am assuming will be Shannon's brother Ambrose story.

My Review of Reginald by Niquel
My Rating 3 Stars
This is my first time reading this author and I can tell you that I do like how her mind works as her story wasn’t like anything I expected.
Reginald’s story is full of raw grit, and a beautiful flawed soul. Reginald and Penelope's story took me on a journey of discovery. I did have moments where it was hard to relate to the characters, but this story could be someone’s life story that is one of the highlights of Reggie. Through many twists and turns in Reggie’s life and the baggage he carries makes his story heartbreakingly beautiful. This happens to be one of those stories you must read to find if you like it or not and that’s just what I recommend you do! Read it!

Reggie didn't have it easy growing up. When his world shatters at a young age, drugs were his escape. Now he has the chance at a new beginning with the Spasm crew.

Reggie finally meets his match with a "leading lady" in his life and gets his head out of butt.
Speaking of leading ladies...Penelope. Girlfriend needs a backbone. I would have been kicking Reggie's butt all over the place, so there are times you want to smack the crap out of your kindle.

The Spasm boys need a good spanking. No really, rocker boys think they are untouchable, but damn it they can be broken and sexy at the same time.
I do have a soft spot for broken rockers though and Reggie fits the bill. Sexy, tormented past and mouthy.

I thought I loved Jamison, I didn't know Reginald! Jamison was great, but Reginald was AMAZING!!! This book was so raw and emotional, barely put it down. Niquel touched some very tough subjects, but she did so in such a way that the reading experience was not compromised and she still delivered a great love story for Reg and Pen. Reg got his chance of finally making it after having a less than ideal upbringing, but his bad choices might put an end to everything he cared about, even his life. Pen knew that she should fall for Reg, bit deep in those troubled eyes she saw he was worth it, but will he see it too?? This series is amazing and I just can't wait for more of Spasm, their love stories, their friendship and how they overcome the cards they've been dealt.

This was the first book I've read by this author and I loved it. This is the second book in the series but I didn't have any problem following the storyline. I will definitely be going back and reading the first book and will be waiting for book three. This one took me on an emotional rollercoaster. Reginald, and the life he's had, just pulled at my heartstrings. Although his attitude also irritated me. I guess that's what can really happen when someone is battling an addiction. I liked Penelope but wish she would have stood up for herself a little more at times. Overall, I was rooting for this couple.

Reginald grew up as a tortured soul, losing everything he’s loved in life. He’s forced to grow into the man he’s become today much too fast. Lessons learned, gained by experience, took loses for what it was. All the blood, near death and sweat. Took his dreams by the balls and busted them into reality.
Penelope is a cool as hell chic. I loved her character. Strong, loving, prideful, compassionate. Great head on her shoulders.
Both have so much to live for but have an epic battle in front of them to get what they want in the end.
I was graciously gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Wow!! Niquel has done it again!! She has totally blown me away with Reginald book 2 in the Rocker series!

This one focuses on the story of Reginald the drummer of Spasm! It tells his tale of his youth, his teen years into his 20's. This book was wonderful. It flowed smoothly with book 1.

I love how Niquel kept everything flowing inbetween the books. Some things were explained in book 2. Book 2 also left is with more questions.....

It tells more of the story of Reg's love life. (waggles eyebrows) Yea it's pretty hot!! I think Penelope is a lucky girl sometimes..

Patiently/ impatiently waiting on book 3!!

I've been waiting for Reggie's book since I finished CJ's book. Niquel has given us a book that at times was emotional, but most of all tells us what addiction does to people and their family and friends. I loved learning more about the members of Spasm and I can't wait to read more about them in Niquel's future books. Reggie and Penelope have some rough times, but he didn't figure her being as tenacious as she is. If you're looking for a great read about two people meant for each other, then this is the book for you. You will laugh, shed a few tears possibly, cheer, and maybe, want to throw your tablet at times. One-click your copy and see if you agree.

This is the second book in this amazing series, and is bad boy drummer Reginald’s and feisty Penelope’s story. Reginald has had a heartbreaking upbringing, and now stardom is driving him into the same path as his youth. Penelope is sassy and feisty, and these two have great chemistry together. No spoilers from me, you really need to read this amazing series for yourself!
I love this author’s work, and she certainly never disappoints her readers. I was hooked and enthralled throughout. Cannot wait to read the next book in this series, and I highly recommend this authors work for all.

Reginald had a hard life growing up. He went from foster family to foster family and saw them do drugs all through his life. He always wanted to play the drums so when he joined the band Spasm. He thought he fell in love as a teenager but did he really know the older woman he thought he fell in love with. After a bad series of events he decided he wasn't worthy of love and would be by himself for the rest of his life.

Pen fell in love with Reginald and boy were the sex scenes hot!!! Can Pen and Reginald make it as a couple? Reginald feels there something different with Pen but fights it.

This is a great rock story with lots of sex, drugs and rock n roll. A must read!!!

This was a complex and angst filled story. Reginald grew up in the foster care system and learned early not to trust people because sooner or later they all let you down. He grew up seeing drugs and swore to never do them but in life you should never say never. After being addicted to drugs he didn't know where life would lead him. But thanks to a friend he got a huge break and in getting that break he slowly started to see there was more to life than sex and drugs because he met Penelope. She knew he was trouble but couldn't resist. She stuck by him through all his turmoil and in doing so she gave him a gift he thought he would never have. This was a great story!!

This book was fast paced. It was a quick read I couldn't put it down. It was a rock star book but a rock star book where they are just staring out. Reginald comes from a series of broken homes. His foster homes created a past that leaves him broken. He turns to drugs which carries the whole book. When he meets Penelope he is attracted to an invisible force he fights continually. Penelope is also broken so that is something he feels a connection with. It captured my curiosity right away. There are many ups and down in this book , it kept me guessing. Good book. I voluntarily read this book for an honest review. No cheating, no cliffhanger and a HEA. Enjoy!

This was a little hard for me to get into in the beginning -it was a bit slow though I understood why as the story progressed, I say this so that if you are like me and at times want it now :( you will give it a chance- it did pick up and ended up as an intense read. The story follows Reginald's life and his battle with his own addiction and how he perceived what was occurring around him and the actions of others, both when he was sober and when he was high. It did alternate on occasion to encompass what Penelope was going through as well. Definite heart strings read that deals with the very real aspects of growing up in the system and drug addiction.

Reginald is book two in the Spasm Rockers series. It can be read as a standalone.

Reginald (Reggie) didn't have the best childhood. My heart went out to him. He was shuffled from fosters homes and got caught up in drugs. He doesn't let people get close. He had a great friend, Mo, that was more like a brother but they lost touch after being separated in foster care. When I was reading I hoped Mo would pop up again and they would be reunited. I was kind of hoping for a nice sweet reunion but that it was very different.

Penelope (Pen) is a down to earth girl. She has a hookup with Reggie. I had hoped for immediate rainbows and happiness between them but they have a lot of things to work through. Penelope is a strong girl but Reggie is her weakness. When Reggie's around we don't always see how strong she is. I really liked this one.

This is book 2 of the series, but can be read as a standalone. I really love this author's storytelling. She is not afraid to write the hard stuff into her books. This story has a drug addict choosing his dope over everything (as addicts do), but trying to maintain his music career and the few personal relationships he has (pretty much just his bandmates) along the way. I will say I didn't love Penelope constantly giving in, but that happens in real life a lot too! Smart women are stupid when it comes to certain guys. This is a great series so far!

Sexy, emotional, and leaving you wanting more! All I can say is WOW!! Niquel has done it again!!

Reginald had a rough childhood, growing up in the foster system. He turned to drugs and alcohol to cope. I totally feel for him and can relate to him.

Peneolope is a strong woman, however she occasionally comes off as weak. She's a lucky girl though!

Together they can conquer anything.

If you're looking for a great book/series, this is the one for you! Cannot wait for the next book in the series.

New author to me but loved it can't wait to read more from her

Reginald isn't looking for a relationship, neither is Penelope. When she sees him she has to have him. The second time he sees her, Reginald takes her home. After a bad batch of drugs, he wakes up in the hospital with her by his bed. When the bad gets worse, will his words push her away or can they make it work? Two people that have been through bad stuff but deserve happiness. I voluntarily received an advanced copy of this book for a honest review

This was a 3.5 star read for me. This is a new to me author and I quite enjoyed this book. It's the story of Reginald, a tortured soul whom lost himself to drug abuse due to the losses in his life and his journey to rock star fame and love. Penelope is the woman who helps him find love and a family.

I couldn't give it more stars because the main couple spends the majority of the book apart, we have them together in the last two chapters and the epilogue.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Reginald by Niquel is book 2 in The Spasm Rockers Series. Not your typical Rockstar read. Niquel has done it again!! I thought I like Jamison but I haven't read Reginald, AWESOME!!! This's the life of Reginald, the drummer of Spasm and Penelope, a sexy and strong chic (BF of Shanon), a very well writen and emotional story. Can Pen and Reggie make it? Or is't just great sex? NO Spoilers!! Can't wait to read the next book in this series, and I highly recommend this book to any fan of rochers romance!!!

An emotional read about a drummer in a rock band and the consequences of addiction. At times dark and other times hopeful. This is the first book that I've read by this author and I must say that it was a well written book with lots of depth. It captured my attention and kept it. The emotional pull between Reggie and Penelope was so strong and he was continually fighting it because of his previous hurts. A compelling book that frustrates you at times but is a strong read that makes you think about a lot of things. I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving an advance copy.

Reginald has had a hard life. He was a foster kid who bounced form house to house. Always landing in houses that people did drugs. His young life made me sad for him and hope that he could turn it around when he was an adult. After something traumatic happens when he is 17, he turns to drugs to numb the pain. Can he turn his life around after something good finally happens and he and his band is sighed to a record label? Find out in this heartbreaking read!!!

I'm sorry but I could not get into this book or the characters. I realize drug addiction is a big issue and life isn't always rosy with happily ever afters. But I couldn't see a side of the characters I cared enough about to root for them. I don't think the author's writing style was a problem but the subject matter and plot did not engage me

Not your typical Rockstar read. Reginald has lived a rough life. Being shuffled from foster home to foster home. Losing everyone he was close to. Trusting people he shouldn’t. Turning to coke and overdosing. Can one person change the way he lives his life. One miracle he thought he would never have.
