* Personal reaction: I really enjoyed this book. There are great illustrations throughout the book that display how people dressed in the time period. This book does a good job of stating dates and hitting on the important parts of Susan B. Anthony’s life.
* Read Aloud: This book would be a great read aloud. While reading it aloud teachers could pause and ask the students why they think things were the way they were in this time period. This would be a good book to read during a Civil War unit. S

This book has beautiful illustrations. The story isn't as strong as it could of been, but it gets the main points across. This is a biography on Susan. It starts with where she was born and then moves into her life accomplishments. Susan was born in Adams, Massachusetts in 1820 into a quaker family who believed everyone was equal. This is a great picture book that explores the life of Susan B. Anthony. Anthony was a woman that fought for equality and freedom for all individuals. She is most known for her work with the Women's Movement. She also spoke out about slavery, ans how all individuals should have freedom and equality. She fought for women to get the privilege to vote. This is an excellent read aloud. The illustrations were great! It helps to teach children that we all are equal no matter our differences.
