Elements of this story were enjoyable, but on the whole it was messy and unbelievable. The characters' speech didn't flow naturally and was often ambiguous. I found myself going back to re-read conversations only to find that I was still no wiser. The supernatural element was bizarre - so unlikely as to be off-putting. Many of the dramatic scenes were verging on the absurd and characters frequently displayed unnatural reactions. It's hard to climb into a story and fully engage with the ...more
