Nikolav Andropov has just joined his friends in Chicago after years of fighting in the underground MMA circuit in Vegas. When he agrees to go babysit a woman with food poisoning in the middle of the night, he isn’t prepared for the punch to the gut the woman delivers. Even in her confused, nauseous state, she sends his libido through the roof.
Belinda Gallo is a reporter for Chicago’s largest multimedia news outlet. All she’s interested in is capturing the biggest story of her career for a one-hour primetime special—the murders of numerous local homeless people. She has no idea one of her good friends was also kidnapped and should have been among the dead. And she certainly isn’t prepared to meet five enormous sexy fighters, one of whom has proclaimed himself to be her protector.
Nikolav has perfected the art of brooding, reminding Belinda of a vampire. He’s nothing like any man she’s dated, but that doesn’t stop her from falling for him. The problem is, no matter how hard she tries to lure him into her bed, he isn’t taking the bait.
What the hell is wrong with him? Or is it her? In any case, while she tries to figure out what game he’s playing, the Russian Mafia is intent on stopping her from capturing her story. And they mean business.
If she wants to keep herself, her family, and her friends alive, she’s going to need to take drastic action. Will her decision destroy the tenuous relationship she’s formed with Nikolav? Or will it make them stronger?
Becca Jameson is a USA Today bestselling author of over 100 books. She is most well-known for her Wolf Masters series and her Fight Club series. She currently lives in Houston, Texas, with her husband and Goldendoodle. Two grown kids pop in every once in a while too! She is loving this journey and has dabbled in a variety of genres, including paranormal, sports romance, military, and BDSM.
A total night owl, Becca writes late at night, sequestering herself in her office with a glass of red wine and a bar of dark chocolate, her fingers flying across the keyboard as her characters weave their own stories.
During the day--which never starts before ten in the morning!--she can be found jogging, running errands, or reading in her favorite hammock chair!
Nikolav Andropov is grappling with his attraction to Belinda Gallo. When he agrees to watch she gets sick, he didn't expect to want to stay by her side. He is a man who likes his control and although there are hints that Belinda could be submissive, he wants the timing right before he finds out. Belinda however is working on a story that has landed her in danger and the FBI wants to intervene. As Nikolav and Belinda explore what is going on between them, Belinda makes a choice that could destroy everything.
The next in The Underground series. I think each addition gets a bit darker. Nikolav is a demanding man, he is careful about showing his desire for Belinda initially. Belinda misreads Nikolav but she also is focused on her story. Tensions build and you have an electrifying read. This had a few unique twists in the story I didn't see coming. Definitely curious as to what is next.
This is the fourth book in the series. It contains violence, humor and BDSM. I loved Belinda's description of Nikolav as a vampire due to his pale skin. Nikolav is doing a favor for his friend by taking care of Belinda in her time of need. Who wishes to meet a handsome man when you have been sick with food poisoning? Belinda is a reporter looking into disappearances off the street. Will this land her on the Russian gangster Anton's radar? Will Nikolav be able to keep her safe? We also find a short section on Anton's hunt for a cure for his father. It is well written and follows the vein of the other stories that came before. I highly recommend you read them in order as they will make more sense, because they build off of each other. I give Submit 4 stars. "I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy without pressure to do so".
Belinda is a reporter trying to get the story of a lifetime. Homeless people are disappearing and it seems to be connected to the Russian mob. The guy running this part of the mob wants to silence Belinda. Nikolav is a Russian MMA fighter and is asked to babysit Belinda after she gets food poisoning. He and his friends all grew up in Russian orphanages around Russia. Nikolav is a Dom and is hoping Belinda is a submissive because she affects him like no other woman has. When they figure out the FBI has a mole, can he keep her safe from the mob and show her what giving up all control can do? Great story with the Russian mob, a journalist, and BDSM. Believable characters and a interesting, keep you on the edge of your seat, storyline.
Loved this story. Doesn’t end on a cliff hanger but the story technically isn’t complete as the issue with Anton contknies throughout the series. I enjoyed the relationship between Belinda and Nikolav. He is dominant alpha and high handed and it irritates her to no end. But in the bedroom it’s a different story. He holds back for a bit because she has never had this type of relationship and he knows once he’s tasted her he won’t be able to go back. The story is filled with twists turns conspiracy romance and d/s but nothing to make you squirm. Just enough to make you fan your face and need a cold shower. Looking forward to the next book.
This just wasn’t my cup of tea. I don’t like books that are sci-fi. The premise behind the book was getting back at the dudes that created a non-aging serum. Russian orphans were injected and able to heal quicker than others. There was just a lot to follow, and the only reason I gave it 2 stars was the sex scenes were HOT. Otherwise...I just couldn’t finish it.
It’s like waiting for a page to load due to bad wifi
It’s never ending the repetition. And the love only after twelve days. I don’t know who I liked less the hero or the heroine. I know I like the villain he at least entertained me. I skipped a lot because this story was just not for me.
I love the way that this author has developed the story and that we get to understand the character of Anton more. I love the incorporation of characters and their relationships with each other. Can't wait to see what we find out next.
What do the Bratva, medial experiments, MMA, FBI and a hot journalist all have in common? Nikolai and his brothers just made Superhero status and the story just got even better!
He has it all in spades. He is hot, loving. And has a heart the size of Texas. And only wants one woman. He and his friends are all Doms. Their all fighters. And all male. Happy reading
I am new to this author and found I couldn't put the book down. Belinda is sassy, feisty and submissive. Nikolav DOM in every way! The entire Russian crew are exhilarating and dominant just the way they should be. Great read.
I hate to leave a review like this. I really really hate Belinda. She’s a total Bitch. And she hides behind being a reporter to justifying being so. Uh. The two stars are for Nikolaev. What a sweet alpha male. This is the first book book I have read and will be my last.
Blurb: She’ll do anything to get him to notice her…but what if she goes too far?

Nikolav and Belinda met when he escorted her home and then stayed with her while she got sick. Her being sick didn't take away from him wanting her. When he finds out that she won't leave the story alone about the homeless dying he stays with her. Belinda won't let anyone, even the sexy Nikolav, stop her from going after the story. Will the FBI finally stop her or the relationship that's begun between them?
WOW! I can't stop saying that about this series but it fits! These fights are so HOT and are begin paired up with the perfect women. The story just flows from book to book and everyone is involved to a certain degree. It's just an amazing series and I can't wait to find out what happens next! I received a copy for no obligation but choose to leave a review that's all my own opinions!
Book 4 of this series is Belinda & Nikolav's portion of the story. I struggled a bit at the beginning of this installment, because I started it initially soon after reading Guard, and there is a LOT of recapping going on in the beginning, because Belinda's part of the story is so intertwined with Haley's. Once I got over that "hump" (and, really, if you don't read them back to back, I don't think you'd have a problem) I was sucked in like I always am. SO GOOD! Nik seems a lot more of a Dom in the bedroom sense than the other guys, altho I don't know if I felt that way because he IS or just because he explains things a lot more clearly to Belinda. Either way, HOT. *grin* I am still loving how the overall story is moving along, and am looking forward to the next story!! : )
I was given a pre-release copy of this book in exchange for an fair and impartial review.
If I had to pick a favorite in the series so far, it's a close tie between Leo/Katie and this book. Nikolov is hot and believable. Belinda is more so. You get the stress they're both under, and the progression of their relationship is hotter for taking a little bit more time.
I loved this book.
Even the bad guy has a plot arc and is becoming more three dimensional. His actions are beginning to make sense. It's almost -- I said almost -- enough to make me feel sorrry for the can of whup-ass I hope that books 5 and 6 bring.
Also, I'm begging Sergei has the hots or Taylor. Calling that now.
Another Success! The series just keeping getting better + better. We are introduced to another Alpha male - Nikolav Andropov Belinda is just a reporter trying to find the truth about why the homeless are being murdered. Nikolay was assigned to protect Belinda. From the beginning, I don't think that Belinda was able to resist Nikolay. He was a force to be reckon with. After all. like the other characters, he is also a MMA fighter. I like how Belinda liked to tease Nikolay ( Vampire ) Kudos to Becca Jameson for another HEA!
This is yet another example of good writing by Ms. Jameson. While the series is getting almost annoyingly predictable, the writing is good. The difference between the men can really only be determined by their tattoos. The women are all more and more tiny and perfect. There's no diversity whatsoever. But through all of that, you still have Ms. Jameson's good writing to enjoy. This is another book in a series I recommend if you want to read something that takes no brain power to get through. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
This has been one of the most intriguing and well plotted series I've read in a long time! Every word I read makes me want to keep reading! Nikolav and Belinda make for an explosive couple! Can't wait for more!
