I snagged this at the library, while signing up for a tea-and-scones-afternoon, sponsored by the library. The cover art was interesting and unusual: tiny paintings done on emptied tea bags. A visual year-long journal with tea as the subject. Ruby, (may I call you Ruby? You feel so familiar.) began with photos of her tea consumption but after a couple of weeks, she began painting and collaging on used, emptied tea bags.

Thank you Ruby! How I would love to share a cup of tea with you.

Kind of a cool book to flip through. Ruby Silvious used tea bags almost every day for a year to draw or create art with, whether they were abstract works, portraits of landscapes or cities she visited, or a collection of flora and fauna. It's a creative idea to use leftover tea bags for artwork—since lord knows tea drinkers would have a lot of them—and I was impressed with Silvious's creative ability in making stunning and delicate paintings come to life on a tiny canvas. Naturally I preferred s ...more
