Fuck this book.

Seriously, with a title that crazy I knew this was going to be a weird one, but this has taken the cake as the worst romance I have ever read.

Ranting, swearing, CAPSLOCK and major spoilers to follow, continue at your own risk.

This book makes me angry. I was consistently rolling my eyes, clenching my fists and wanting to hit my head against a brick wall while I was reading it. Seriously, there is so much highlighted on my kindle that was rage inducing that I may as well have
Just ignore the book,it was so horrible

I hate this book. It needs to die a long suffering death.

What doesn't it have?

A stupid, strident heroine, Keira, perhaps one of the most immature h ever and that's saying something. She's either screaming hysterically at the H or screaming during sex. Yawn. Needs to die.

Cruel, sadistic bastard of a hero, frickin' Patrizio. He thinks she's cheated on him and he calls her slut, whore. Tells her he would catch a disease if he slept with her because of all the other...well you get the picture. Then

HA! Agent Scully and Vintage have dubbed this Innocent Readers, Characters of Shame . I, however, am not an innocent reader since I dove into this well-warned.

Yes, the hero is hurtful and mean and said he had a tit-for-tat sexual relationship while they were separated.

And yes, the heroine is confused as to whether she slept with her bf that night, but she believes him because he was her bf from childhood.

And yes, this is Melanie Milburne's trademark heroine who beats herself up and wallows in

I wanted A bigger grovel scene and an epic one!!! He treats like shit is whoring around like there is no tomorrow and after a few days. He is an asshole and I totally hated him. I would have hired a hit man on him so fast. I hated him so much. While she was wearing the hair shirt for something even if she had done it, which she didn't, was not as big a betrayal as what he had done!! Where do they get the sense of entitlement when they treat their wife like shit to be all sanctimonious because ...more

I read it again!!!! What the heck was I thinking. I cried through the entire book. And the worst thing was, that he was the cheater. They were only apart two months, two freaking months and he already had slept with several women. He even had a mistress/girlfriend that he slept with the day before he got back with his wife. He planned to go back to her after the fake six week reconciliation. And you know the real WTF moment was? At the end, when his cheating wasn't even addressed??? HE cheated. ...more

Quick opinion: this book is icky and not in a fun way. I would not advise wasting one's time on it.

Setup: Angry millionaire businessman was in the process of divorcing his demoralized wife for her infidelity, but now they have to fake a reconciliation because his nephew and her younger brother are feuding at school over the breakup and are risking their academic futures.

Everything that is wrong with the book:
•The hero is a slut-shaming hypocrite who doesn't understand the concept of consent.

Oookay.. This story is ridiculous.

Kiera was lying in Garth's bed, naked. And Patrizio is nothing but furious. He despised her for betraying him and when she said nothing but apology, he was ready to kick her out of his life. But things happen, and the sparks is still ignite between them..

The storyline is good, great in fact. Full of angst, exactly what I like. BUT!

But, the execution is damn awful. Miss Millburne describe Patrizio's hateful blatantly and I don't like it. He's just pure hatred

There is nothing redeeming about any character in this whole book and Of course, they can't keep their hands off each other. She was a pathetic excuse for a woman and he was just a scumbag; Plain and simple!

The heroine Keira is trying hard to move on with her life, even though she knows she is the one who ruined it. She is certainly not expecting her soon-to-be-ex husband Patrizio, the hero, to come and see her. Patrizio can never forgive Keira for what she did, yet a situation has led him to ask her for a brief, pretend reconciliation. Keira struggles with her shame over her actions even though she can't actually remember what happened. Patrizio's scorn towards her hurts, but she takes it knowing ...more

well, keira really took the price 4 the lowest scum on earth ! she was so awfully pathetic, made me want 2 throw up ! it's all very good 2be repentant, 2 regret past felonies but she was up2 her neck in it; so deep wid guilt, remorse, depression. she really had 2 stand up 4 herself. while she had been wallowing in self-pity 4 2months, patrizio had been whoring himself u no. n she was not angry like she was not angry dat bruno called her a slut whenever n wherever or when bruno read her messages ...more
After reading some of the reviews, I was not sure why I gave this four stars, so I re-read it.
Yes, it deserves the one/two star reviews, but the angst and drama still gets it four stars in my HP rating system. YMMV

Steamy, intense, emotional! Loved this book and both hero and heroine were amazing people. Both were hurt and heartbroken because of Keira's alleged cheating but their love conquers all!
Stories like these seem like tales of what happens after the marriage and happily ever afters. Things don't always work out. The main thing that bothered me was the fact that the hero, during the separation (of two months), slept with other women. Like actually slept with them. Yes, he was planning on divorcing her, but still. At least wait until the divorce is final! If he merely spun some lies/tales of his mistress(es) to make her jealous or hurt her (dick move, yes, but not as bad as the ...more

This book got a lot of low reviews. I however thought the author is very talented, and did an excellent job with this story. I didn’t like the title of the book. On the other hand I could feel the strong emotions that Patrizo, and Keira were feeling. Pain, love, raised voiced, and tender touches was felt from the pages of this book. This book was not a cookie cutter mold from other plots in other books. I loved the twist about the best friend in this book. I have to say… I didn’t see that one ...more

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was one that grabbed my attention and couldn't put down, and I was able to read it in one setting. It was different in comparison to other Harlequin books I have read.
After Keira's alleged affair with her friend Garth Merrick, her marriage to Patrizio Trelini ended and became a world wide scandal in the gossip magazines and newspapers. Though she regretted that night and can't remember anything happening she was heading for divorce until Patrizio's

Oh k...alot going on in this one. The heroine is written so inconsistently that you aren't sure if you are rooting for her or not. Sometimes she is feisty and then other times she is a doormat, make up your mind. "I accept everything everyone says because it's true.""Why don't you love me?" Uhhh we can't keep up with you girl. There were like 3 side plots going on that all affected JUST the heroine.
The hero was pretty much a lost cause, since every single scene he is in prior to the last

Okay, so I'm going to be really fair with this book because I can tell by the low ratings that this one received it because it's ASSUMED that the girl cheated. The whole story is that Keira woke up naked in her best friend's bed and her husband, Patrizio, wants nothing to do with her afterwards.

However, Patrizio needs her back in his life and what do you know? She's been pregnant all this time and she's not sure who's baby it is. UNTIL a test is taken and it's Patrizio's baby but his trust is

Could've been a really good story but..........
The book just made me angry. What a bastard and bastard nephew. The name of the book is of shame???? I liked the last page and that is why it gets 2 stars. As soon as the nephew started calling her names she should've walked. Patrizio called her a whore and a slut and treated her like one.......but it was OK her him to have slept with other women during their two month separation. WHAT A BASTARD............

This. This was every bit as wonderfully overwrought and ridiculous and really, really just REALLY, as that name suggests. A work of art, truly ;)

Well I liked this book no matter what lots of other readers thought. All mills and boon stories can't be the same and points to Melanie for writing something different.

The double standards in this book were horrible. I really was hoping she would just tell him to go away the whole time.

I grew up on a small farm on the outskirts of Sydney and as a keen horse rider, often competed in local gymkhanas and even broke in a few horses from time to time. As I was surrounded by animals, I decided at an early age to become a nurse, however I couldn’t stand the sight of blood and so opted for a career in teaching. It’s a bit ironic that I married a surgeon.
