This book has some decent investment information in it that you don't see everywhere,particularly the sections on franchises and valuing a business, but most people probably won't be needing that information. While some people may like the conversational tone of the book, I didn't really care for it. The book is laid out as if it is a narrative of a group of friends who get together every month to hear the author talk about investing. If you find a cheap copy at Ollies like I did, it might be worth a couple of bucks, but otherwise look elsewhere.

Good beginner's guide to investing

Good read for an investment book. It gave me basic knowledge on a few methods of investing and basic principles for how to do so.

This book is AWESOME! If you ever had financial issues, or just flat out want to learn how to save and properly invest your hard earned money, look no further. Personally this book has truly revolutionized my life in many ways. A very educated Investor/Author Mr. Dennis Blitz has fortunately been able to share his research in his thirty years of study to the average aspiring investor. He truly can relate to the general type of person in a positive way through his writings and in fact inspire them to progress in their investments.
Perhaps like me, you haven’t started to invest your money. Well I must say, you are saving yourself a whole of heartaches by reading this amazing and educational book prior to investing. Blitz is able to put everything that may seem overwhelming at the moment into simple terms that anyone can understand. After reading his work, I feel truly equipped to begin building my portfolio that will ensure security and happiness for the remaining years of my life. This book is an absolute must read, for those of you that may need a little guidance in managing your money.
