She married Frank Brennan, an Australian businessman born in 1936. She changed careers to computer programming before marriage and motherhood settled her into a community life. As voracious readers, the step to writing their own books seemed a natural progression and the challenge of creating exciting stories was soon highly addictive. They were published since 1983. In 1993, for the Emma Darcy pseudonym's 10th anniversary, they created the "Emma Darcy Award Contest" to encourage authors to finish their manuscripts. After the death of Frank Brennan in 1995, Wendy wrotes books on her own. She lived in a beachside property on the central coast of New South Wales, and liked to travel extensively to research settings and increase her experience of places and people.

So ignore the ridiculous title, which makes this look like a cheesy HQN novel. Welcome to the beautiful world of the James family, and meet our lovely main couple.
A mixed race heroine (half Filipino), who is an orphan and has gone through a traumatic past, until she is taken into her adopted family's embrace. Now a successful and revered model, she spends all her time helping the needy kids. It is on one such trip that the hero spots her, and is instantly smitten by her kindness and beauty.
He continues to see her again and again, until an opportunity comes to introduce himself. However, the heroine is aware of rich billionaires of the hero's caliber, and is also of the tumultuous relationship brewing between him and his young daughter.
She then helps him reconnect with his child, while slowly giving into their sizzling attraction. Soon both of them fall in love, and after some drama and tears, they have a WONDERFUL HEA!
Another gem by Emma Darcy. Absolutely amazing hero and heroine, strong family ties, a sweet daughter, super hot lovemaking, just enough angst and awesome epilogue to leave me smiling.

International romance
A re-read for me. I’ve forgotten to credit this couple for writing diverse and inclusive multicultural romance as early as the late-’90s, way before it’s popular to do so. This one is special to me because of Rosalie the part-Filipina heroine. Having a Filipina main character (not written by Filipino authors) was such a rare occurrence in romance until late in the 2010s. I really appreciate this duo for that.
I also appreciate Adam for giving Rosalie space to make her own choices, of waiting for her to come to him of her own volition. Again, the concept of consent was already utilized. Emma Darcy’s works do stand up well over time.
If I have a criticism, it's that the pacing is off and the development of Rosalie and Adam’s feelings for one another needed to be shown more rather than told. The ending was a bit rushed as well. Still, I’m going to search for the rest of the series. Zachary’s story especially appeals to me.

Adam was a wonderful hero and quite smitten with Rosalie who avoided intimate relationships like a car thief evading capture. Rosalie was so closed off emotionally that I couldn't connect or empathize with her at all. Even so I still liked the book up until near the second-to-last chapter, but the abrupt ending killed off any buzz I'd had.
The next scene cut to the couple's marriage ceremony. I had to double check if there were missing pages. Nope. It was a disappointing end to an overall good book. I felt cheated because the original reason Rosalie had broken up with Adam in the first place was never addressed, making the HEA unconvincing.

Lupa - lupa inget sih ma ceritanya
Yang diinget cuma ini adik minjem di perpus, ga pernah dia balikin, jadi numpuk di gudang rumah.
Entah kenapa si pemilik perpustakaan ga pernah nagihin, padahal sifat adik gw yang emang suka minjem tanpa balikin itu udah terkenal dimana2 (lebay ah)
Yang lebih memorable lagi mungkin pas emak marah - marah liat buku ini. Pas tau covernya yang "menggoda" dan ada judul "bed" nya.
Adik gw nyata2nya jauh lebih "pervert" dari gw untuk ukuran anak SMA jaman itu =))

haduuuh bete banget gw ama peran utamanya..baiuk co nya yang tycoon maupun lead ce nya si rosalie yang (katanya) super model kelas dunia yang paling cantik, paling baik dll....(terlalu berlebihan hehehe )
yang jelas co nya ini tipe tycoon yang matanya jelalatan gak boleh liat ce cantik apalagi model..
ce nya juga katanya masih vi..tapi super model loh bo..mana pake baju juga sering dililit2...tak mencerminkan ce lugu sama sekali...
gak oke banget deh...

This was a very enjoyable little romance, and certainly flipped the "inaccessible hero" trope around!
Although Rosalie has her reasons for freezing non-family men out of her life, it really does seem pretty unhealthy and imbalanced, as her family points out. Trauma does that to someone, though, so it's understandable. I really liked that Adam recognizes very quickly that he doesn't just want a physical relationship with her, but a really deep and meaningful connection, both with him and with his daughter. That was refreshing, compared to all the many Harlequin men who are emotionally closed-off and content to be players. It was also good to see Cate play a much more integral part of the storyline than most romance novel offspring.
My only complaint about the story is the leap between the last two chapters. I know that they recap the time in between, but it still felt a bit jarring to me. I would've liked to see Rosalie begin to integrate Adam into her mission, and come to the realization that two can accomplish more than just one. Not having that transition in the story really threw me out of the emotional intensity of the moment. Otherwise good, and liked having a multi-cultural heroine!

Udah lama bacax n mendadak ingat am ni cerita cz kemaren baru selesai baca tante emma yg Jurang asmara...dicerita itu disebut2 tentang anak2 adopsi keluarga james dari australia n salah satux adlah zachry lee kakak tiri dri c heroine ...naah zachry in jg wara wiri dicerita in...selidik punya selidik ternyata judul in masuk dlam seri james family tp g ad ttg zachry...n jurang asmara jg g t'masuk... :/

The Bedroom Surrender is the 4th of the James Family series by Emma Darcy. It was written some 11 years after the first in the series and features Rosalie James, the Philippino member of the large adopted family of Edward and Hilary James. Rosalie is a high class model who spends all her spare time working with orphans in the Philippines. Adam Cazell, a divorced playboy father of Cate, is a billionaire businessman. After sighting Rosalie by chance on a few occasions, and being captivated, he finally meets her at her sister’s home in England where his daughter is spending time with her best friend. Adam becomes a determined pursuer, and Rosalie eventually succumbs. The rich and famous intent of doing some charity work. Adam is fairly realistic, but Rosalie seems a bit too perfect, and the ending is too rushed.

i was bored. at first, it seemed really interesting wid their different encounters and rosalie always unaware of adam while he watched her and wanted her wid fierce passion. i thought i wud be reading about a stalker hero, hell-bent on possessing rosalie. instead, we got a dull story, very calm and light. i also dunt understand how cate can get over her mother's grief so quickly or rather immediately! i mean instead of being horrified at losing her mummy, she was more concerned whether or not rosalie wud marry her father and be her mother!? really weird!
