Recommends it for: artists of all levels.
Although Sloan lived from 1871 to 1951, he included in this book very practical information about drawing and painting that is still pertinent today. He offers artists many suggestions for painting and drawing exercises, and refers to master painters for examples of his exercises. I recommend this book to anyone contemplating picking up a sketch pen or paintbrush.
