An "oldie but goodie" counting book.
A young girl is disappointed by her turtle's reluctance to move. When she asks other animals to do variety of moves, they move, but the turtle will not. How does she get that turtle to move? She tempts it with its favorite thing.
This could be a good book to use with teachers at the beginning of the year to make the analogy of finding the one thing that motivates each student. The repetitive line and simple text make this a great interactive read-aloud.
