About the author

Swami Sivananda Radha, born Sylvia Hellman was a German yogini who emigrated to Canada and founded Yasodhara Ashram in British Columbia. She established a Western-based lineage in the Sivananda tradition and published books on several branches of Yoga.

I will forever be in debt to Swami Radha for this book. Although it did not touch me deeply in many ways, the book struck me as such a dignified approach to self-reflection. We all hear about "keeping a journal," and how spiritually useful it is. I had heard the same when I came to read this book 15 years ago. Radha gave me the gift of explaining "the journal" in a way that intrigued me enough to try hard, and keep at it. While this book may not have changed my life, the journal-keeping it began through me has probably saved my life through the years. I don't even keep my journal the way she suggested, but it was she that inspired me to begin.

Swami Radha gives such a beautiful touch to her words and stories. You can feel the love on every page.
