Nasty story (though well written). I probably won't write a separate review.

Read as part of Selected Short Stories, which I've reviewed HERE.

Best line of the short story: "In their quiet, melancholy way, the two girls were happy. Their mother was dead. Their father was ill also." I know short stories don't have as much space for adding details, but come on, the flow from one sentence to the next is a bit lacking in this section! :)
