In My Name is Inanna, Tamara Albanna provides a guiding star for girls and young women: their own divine power. The story is beautifully and simply presented in the voice of the Sumerian Goddess Inanna, who is deeply aware of her own power, and of the need for its guidance through difficult times. This is a sweet little dedication to the Goddess. At only 30 or so pages (not counting front/back matter) and only a sentence or two per page, it is SHORT. But in that brief time, a nice tale of being strong and self-aware while accepting assistance is told. Honestly, while that's nice, it's the art that blew me away. The pictures are truly stunning.

Fair warning to others though, while it didn't bother me and I've already passed the book to my girls (6 & 9), these are painting of a Goddess
