Can't Fail Color Schemes: Color Guide for the Interior & Exterior of Your Home

Rate this book
For a fresh approach to color in the home, look no further than Can't Fail Color Schemes. This book allows readers to coordinate paint colors, textures, and accessories while factoring in such things as light effects and psychology of color. Heavy on photographical examples of working schemes and light on text, Can't Fail Color Schemes acts as a workbook readers can take along to home centers and paint stores. Unlike so many other color scheme books, it even includes an ample section on exterior color. With Can't Fail Color Schemes, readers can give every room in their home a brand new look.

Sorry but I didn't find this book helpful at all. The colors highlighted on the page were hard to find in the corresponding picture. It was like looking for "Where's Waldo"....where's that blue....I don't see it anywhere. I would've rather seen how those colors compliment each other with actually using the colors. The pictures were nice and showed how to use color. I did learn a little about what using color can mean to the feel of a space. But I was disappointed in a lot of the content in this book.

I didn't learn anything. I didn't like the majority of the rooms. Saying this color "would" be impactful did not help me; I need to see it! I did like that Exteriors were included.

Book is copyrighted 2007, but room design styles photographed seem to be a bit dated. This might be worth checking out from the library again to explore color schemes if focusing solely on the tiny color chips shown. I had a difficult time with the photographs featured of the rooms though because I did not care for most of the styles pictured. I kept looking at the rooms and thinking yuck- too overdone. Worth mentioning are the photos of the exteriors. I really liked the exteriors because you could see most of the homes in the photographs to see how light impacted the color schemes.
