I love love love Lucy! She is very easy to relate too! She is fun and bubbly but has a secret she hasnt shared with anyone. Can she find her HEA! she totally deserves it. Cant wait to continue reading this series!

I received a copy in advance from Sharon so I could leave an honest review.
I enjoyed reading part one of this new series as we got a slight background and look in Lucy with Sharon’s pervious book.
If you have read any of Sharon’s pervious work and the latest one “showing him who’s boss” you would have already met Lucy and a brief encounter with Lance. If not then you’re in for a real treat in this story.
I think it’s fair to say that you can read this story on its own but still think it is worth reading after “showing him who’s boss” as this story will be within the time line already given in that book as well as Lucy’s friend Carrie and Boss Scott’s History. And from that we learned that Lucy has a past that no one knows about not even her best friend Carrie.
Playing Hardball starts off with Lucy in a happy bumble of life and then her life is changed. We find out the reasons of way in showing him who’s boss why Lucy is so closed off with her best friend Carrie and start to understand Lucy a bit more. 5 years later after this day in walk Lance to her life. Lucy and Lance both are not looking for a relationship but they both want fun.
After one night together Lance can’t seem to forget about Lucy and when the Party comes and Carrie throws her under the bus and admits that she slept with Lance and Lucy then replies with it being a drunken mistake Lance is ready to show her just how much a mistake it is.
But when Lucy decides that she will cut all ties with Lance she gets a text from Carrie that may just stop her from cutting the ties she wants to.
There is laughter though out this book and sadness as well with Lucy's history but the way that Lance and Lucy are together is so great,
I can’t wait to read the second part to this series to see just how personal Lucy and Lance get.

Five years ago tragedy struck Lucy and she blames herself. She thinks had she not sent her husband out for take out he'd still be here today. Its guilt that she lives with for the rest of her life. Add in that her parents could care less about her but she has a best friend who means the world to her, but doesn't know her secret. Lucy doesn't do commitment, it's one and done, just enough to get her fix. So in walks hotshot pirates pitcher lance and all bets may come off the table.
Lance is the hotshot pitcher for the Pirates baseball team. So grant it it's a given he's got the rock hard body, money, and can have any girl he wants. It so happens that he also Hayes commitment and will sleep with anything given to him. When the opportunity comes up to work with some kids for his best friends charity he jumps all over it, never expecting to meet firecracker Lucy who has no filter. She both makes him hard and infuriates him to no end. He can't figure it out but knows she has a secret. When the 2 decide to have a sex only relationship feelings get a little too heavy for Lucy and decides that's it. Only the game is just getting started.
Absolutely love this book!!! I think Lucy and lance are one of my top Sharon couples! You learn a little about them in her showing him whose boss series which is just as good! Can not wait to see how Lucy and lances story unfolds!! I need part 2 now!!!!!

Fabulous Read!
Lucy finds herself hiding behind a façade in order to mask the pain she's kept from everyone, especially her best friend. The loss of the love of her life, and blaming herself has caused Lucy to build walls, and convince herself love is no longer an option.
The company she works for is owned by a former baseball player who's ask his former teammates if they'd agree to a favor.
So when the star pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates shows up to do a Photo shoot, the sassy and quick witted Lucy takes notice.
Lance the pitcher for the Pirates, takes just as much notice. It seems as though Lance is used to most women falling at his feet, and Lucy is an exception. Heck, she don't even like baseball, and she had the nerve to tell him so ..... To his face! More intrigued than ever Lance has made it his mission to figure Lucy out. Game on!
Lance and Lucy have found themselves tangled in a mess of arms and limbs, and gnashing of teeth, not once, but twice. Hot, sexy, and sizzling! Problem is, They both have made it clear. Neither want any attachments, or a relationship, so when they wake up to each other. Houston we may have a problem.
I love Sharon's books. This spin off series is great. I enjoy getting to continue my journey with the characters. Loved this book.

Lucy, Carrie's extroverted friend from work was always a bit of an enigma. Al that people knew was that Lucy was the life of the party, you always knew when Lucy entered the room.
But, everything else about Lucy was always held close to her heart...tightly.
Part one of this hot serial opens the lid on why Lucy is the way she is. It also fills in some of the blanks from the series "Showing Him Who's Boss" where Lucy and Lance disappear.
Lance is pretty much the egocentric player that he portrays. It is his armor. But it seems that while on the outside all the world sees is Lance and Lucy constantly butting heads...Lance has a soft spot for her, and he is trying hard to not let it penetrate his armor!
I cannot wait to see how this story develops. As always Ms Cummin writes a story about relatable characters who are so easy to fall in love with...and leave you always wanting more. Bring on Part 2!

Just as I was hoping for more from Sharon, this little beauty landed in my lap.
This is Lucy’s story.
We met Lucy in Sharon’s “Showing Him Who’s Boss” trilogy. Lucy is Carrie’s best friend. We learnt in those books that Lucy obviously has a pretty big secret that we never found out about………until now.
OMFG, if you thought Carrie and Scott’s story was hot, wait until you meet and get to know Lance. He will seriously get your knickers in a twist.
This is the story of two people who try to kid themselves that all they are after is a little bit of fun.

I just love Lucy and her attitude! Beneath the attitude lies the true Lucy that no one knows. She's living with guilt from her past. She doesn't do commitment.
She meets the hottie Pirates baseball pitcher through work. He has fame, fortune and women basically throwing themselves out him. He has no idea what to think about Lucy and her "I don't care who you are" attitude or how to handle her. He has no interest in commitment either.
You'd think that they'd be perfect for each other...sex only relationship. Things are getting a little intense between these two.

Wow this book is a great follow on from the showing him who's boss series. Scott and Carrie are included in this book because it's telling the story of Carrie's friend Lucy who has a tragic story that she hasn't shared with anyone including Carrie, she puts on a smile and gets on with life although the tragedy is tearing her up inside. She has decided to be a fun loving girl who will have a good time but not give her heart away, that is until she meets Scott's baseball team mate Lance, he is a bad boy who thinks he deserves women to fall at his feet due to his fame, find out what happens when they crash heads.
I can't wait to read more.

Showing Him Who’s Boss gave introduced us to Lucy Stone, the firecracker who doesn’t allow anyone to get too close, and Lance Storm, the Hotshot pitcher for the Pirates who loves to play the field. Both Lucy and Lance love to be on top of the game, neither allowing for anyone to take a shot without them having a comeback.
When they meet, fireworks erupt, yet neither wants to show any real affection for the other. Lucy and Lance give us some hilarious bantering, making the sexual tension between the two so thick you can slice it with a butter knife. They spontaneously combust each time they’re together.
This story is funny, sexy, and I can’t wait to read the rest.

The Firecracker and the Hotshot!! Loving this spin-off!! Playing Hardball is the spin-off from Showing Him Who's Boss. This is Lucy and Lance's story. The first part of the book gives us Lucy's background, we finally get some answers!! The story then picks up where Lucy and Lance meet for the first time. Their bantering back and forth had me laughing so much at times. Their sex scenes were like spontaneous combustion!! I am really enjoying this series so much and I can't wait for the next part. There is a cliff hanger, so be forewarned!!

Fun, quick, and steamy. I love baseball and this mentioned it a great deal through the retired players and their relationship off the field. Lance and Lucy were cute together. I loved the banter between them. I think she might be changing her mind about the rules she has pretty soon. I can't wait to read the other parts! I absolutely loved their nicknames for each other.

This is the first part of a brand new series by this author. Stand back to be amazed by a mouthy woman and a guy that thinks women are his play things. Yup you heard me right. This compelling part 1 will have you at seats end.

Another great book by Sharon Cummin! Firecracker and Hotshot! Lucy's sass and Lance's cockiness made the book fun to read! The chemistry was off the charts HOT! Can't wait to read part 2!
