The sleuths are a married couple. He writes westerns, she writes mysteries.
They get invited to a get together at a dude ranch in Wyoming. Pretty soon, someone is murdered, and the couple investigates.
The couple is so busy being folksy, I was wondering why they ever left their back porch.
