This is seriously one of the best animal books I have ever had the pleasure of reading. In encyclopedia style, with many beautiful photographs and in depth details about all animals, this is a treat for all ages!
I can see this book being a great tool for educational purposes, or just being viewed for entertainment. It is very versatile!
A definite recommendation from yours truly!

Been reading this book for several years with my son. We just finished it tonight at bed time. Basically an animal encyclopedia. Nearly 500 pages of knowledge. The animal kingdom is mysterious and miraculous and inspiring. We read things that were nearly unbelievable. Just gives you a ton of respect and reverence for anything living. A suggestion. If something fascinating comes up that you just have to see. Pull up YouTube and watch it happen right before your eyes.

This book is packed full of photos and short descriptions but lacks articles. Seems to be written for those with short attention spans. Perfect for today's society! All kidding aside, it is informative for what it is, but I prefer the old way reference books were produced.

Very, very, cool. Lots of interesting pictures and I really liked the way the book was divided up. Instead of by species, it was divided by characteristics of animals. This is a big book also; a very heavy lap book.

I love this book! The photography is amazing, and it's absolutely full of information on amazing adaptions, both physical and psychological, that animals all over the world use to survive.

Entertaining survey of animal behaviour in the wild, sodden with the utilitarianism of the natural selection theory. The glossy, often large pictures help get through some 500 pages.
