I used this participant's guide while leading a group of ladies through "The Good Book" DVD study. I enjoyed both the study itself and using the participant's guide. The guide had questions that allowed the group to discuss what we watched in the DVD during our time together as well as look at scripture that expanded on what was presented in the DVD. The between session material in the guide gave participants the opportunity to continue their study during the weeks between our meetings if they wished to do so. Not all of our ladies did the between session questions and that was okay as the next session's discussion did not refer to the between session questions.

I highly recommend "The Good Book" DVD study and this participant's guide to everyone who wants to better understand what the Bible is about and wants to develop a deeper intimacy with God.

TO THOSE LEADING A STUDY: I bought this book, in order to do a book study with friends, but did not realize this is NOT a book/guide. It is only the guide, and only references the DVD and book throughout. If you are the leader, I would recommend at least you getting the book, although the participants can get away with only the Participants Guide. They will just need some understanding of the layout of this book, how you and your group in particular will go through it, etc. It was necessary, at first, for me to be several chapters ahead of them, to know how I would order our discussion time.

On another note, the questions posed in this book were really great. You can make anything good come of this, and lead a really great discussion time. Even if participants did not do the questions on their own that week, it was pretty easy to have good, solid discussion.
