This book is the 4th expanded edition. According to the subtitle, it is "A high-order concept for addressing the plight of societally devalued people, and for structuring human services".
(*read for an undergrad-level Disability Studies course)
As far as theory-books go, this struck a happy medium. Instead of creating a dense mixture of his theory, or a fluffy "self-help" style book for the masses, Wolfensberger aimed to give students peripherally interested in his Social Role Valorization theory an overview. He meets his goal pretty well. It's not fun reading, and it can, at times, seem a bit nebulous, but it's an important theory and this book gets the point across.
