A must read. Written from a completely different angle of Holocaust atrocities; the book tells the story of a jewish prisoner made to perform horrific acts, and what the long term emotional effects does to the soul. .

David Harry Tannebaum is the author of the acclaimed 'Padre' mystery adventure series. Out of the Depths is a totally different endeavor as David writes about a young boy in a Nazi concentration camp where abhorrent medical experiments are committed that are so inhumane and heinous that the boy is scarred for life. The foreword penned by a rabbi sheds light on how one might interpret the survivors' behaviors from this dark time in history. The story is well plotted and edited although some subplots are distracting. You will not be able to predict the ending and you'll keep reading until the last page. This book would be a good choice for a book club discussion. Recommended.
