Oh my fucking god.
This entire thing was just a big bag of rambling nonsense.

This is actual dialogue...
Nikki's Mom: Where are the girls? Are they down by the water?
Nikki's Dad: Probably ...
Nikki's Mom: They said they were going to play ping pong earlier.
Nikki's Dad: Yeah ...
Nikki's Mom: But now ...
Nikki's Dad: Yes, yes.

Gabby: Holy Shit! We did it!
Nikki: I know! Shush now!
Demon: Who? What? Why have you summoned me from Hell?! How DARE you?!
Nikki: SILENCE! We have summoned you! And we h ...more

Huh.
I picked this up at the library since I'm a sucker for almost everything werewolf and thought the art on the cover looked neat. It was a whim, really. I'd never heard of it before, but I liked the publisher. Image comes out with some interesting stuff and I've been trying to branch out a little. So I grabbed it, and ended up going from cover to cover in a bit under an hour since it's a slim read... Well.
I'm still not entirely certain what I read?

Some very cool artwork, but the storyline is rather difficult to follow. There seems to be quite a bit of "dream sequence going on, but it's never all that clear if what is happening is a dream, or reality. Kind of hard to follow because of that. Still, the art is really pretty.

I don't know what I just read. Nothing in this comic makes sense. It jumps from scene to scene without warning, and has just an overall bad structure.

Surreal is right, the art is very linear and geometric, but the story often dips into memories or nightmares, waking dreams, dissociation, it's very difficult to follow around in certain points [especially the dream sequences].
I understand, for the most part what's going on, girl is turning into a werewolf, doesn't understand why, or at least her suspicions as to why could be totally wrong, and she is enlisting her new vampire friend in helping her. What confuses me is the place they're living a ...more

A high school werewolf story, done in a distorted, vaguely expressionist art style that made me think more of Weimar Berlin than the Midwest. Which in itself would potentially be an interesting twist, but then the monsters don't function as one would normally expect, and the people don't talk like people ever have, and worst of all the wolf just doesn't convey that essential wolfishness. And at that point, with every component dislocated, it's hard for the reader to engage at all, and what you'r

Loved the art work very innovative and different than the usual stuff. Found the story line confusing at times and had to reread certain sections.
To be honest the story lines are coming of age and werewolf, not subjects I normally follow or have an interest in but picked it up for the artwork stood out. For anyone who likes the Graphic Novel genre this is worth the read for the graphics even if it is not a normal subject you follow.

Although I really wanted to like it more, it didn't have the details to pull me in as much as I'd like. It felt more like a vague, removed story outline with pictures rather than a full blown literary piece itself. I did however enjoy the bonus comic "king blood". It felt much more developed and thought out. Hopefully volume 2 will fill some things in for me rather than rushing through and pushing forward in a barely fleshed out series of plot events

this felt a little disorienting and didn't have much of a narrative/actual plot. not much more really struck me beyond that.

I found it too choppy and the characters annoying. I liked the concept.

This is so weird and so enjoyable. If you enjoy stories like Ginger Snaps and Trick R Treat, you'll love the hell out of this.

I liked the weirdly indie/cartoony art, I liked the concept, but I have almost no idea what actually happened. Ginger Snaps this isn't.

Fantastic art and a trippy story. Doesn't deserve the hate it gets in the comments

What a trip! As the main character bounces from one dream and illusion to another, the reader is taken on a wild journey. I'm very interested to see where this will go in Volume 2.

Aw, man. This was so close! Werewolf and vampire witchy goths! Right? I liked the art, actually. But the plot and dialog... not so much. I wasn't confused, it just wasn't there. Some comics can really use the "distinctive art with bare bones plot and dialog" style, but this didn't pull it off. It felt more like an imitation of those other, better comics. The bonus comic at the end was better, though.

Style is just as important to my enjoyment of a graphic novel or comic as character development and plot. If I don't enjoy how an artist draws, inks, or colors, it is difficult for me to really engage with the work. Rich Tomamso's style isn't my favorite, but sometime it makes so much sense with his stories (such as in parts of Dark Corridor: The Complete Series) that I end up really enjoying his work.

I actually liked the artwork in this one. Yes, it's weirdly drawn and disjointed in its storytelling - but neither of those are deal-breakers for me. It wasn't great, but I might read on out of curiosity because I am a fan of werewolves and vampires.

Werewolves and vampires - not much good in my opinion
A high school girl gets scratched by a werewolf and slowly becomes one. She is befriended by a vampire and they get up to all sorts. This is not particularly interesting stuff and the line drawing artwork does not appeal to me makes this a poor choice for me.
