This book tells the story of Micah and Anaya, King and Queen of the were-jaguars. But this is not your typical couple with a typical marriage. Micah has never wanted to accept his role in the tribe and would do whatever it takes to be free of that life. Even if it means leaving behind a mate/wife that he never really wanted.
Throughout the book the readers see flashbacks showing the choices that Micah made and the consequences that he had to face. Anaya has finally had enough, travels to the states, and decides that Micah either accept her as his wife and mate or they both go their separate ways. After all this is what he's wanted all along...or so he thought.
I really am enjoying this series. I read this in one setting. I just couldn't put it down. I had to know what was going to happen next. Thumbs down on the steam level and the proofreading. Both were non existing. I read an advanced copy of this book.
This is the second book in this series, and it doesn’t focus on the characters I was expecting it to. This book is about Anya and Micah who have a difficult marriage and so there is a lot of emotions going on. The information about the incidents that occurred in the past that make their marriage so difficult are clearly signed as flashbacks and wonderfully tell the history of the two characters. The story does continue where it left off with regards to who is trying to harm the paranormal beings and that is an interesting story. This is brilliantly written with lots of characters and due to this I strongly suggest reading book one before reading this book otherwise you won’t get the full enjoyment of this amazing story. I’m looking forward to book three.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed the story line of this book and that is what kept me hooked. The storyline jumps around a little, it touches on things from book 1, but mainly focuses on the relationship between the council member, Micah and his mate Anaya. the hurt and betrayal, they feel and the trust they need to find. I liked it alot.
TITLE OF BOOK: JAGUAR NIGHTS: SECRETS, LIES, AND BETRAYAL BOOK 2 AUTHOR OF BOOK: JEN A. DURAND DATE READ: APRIL 4, 2017 – APRIL 5, 2017
CAN MICAH AND ANAYA FIX THEIR BROKEN LIVES?
This is the second book in the Sex, Lies, and Betrayal series and I must say that I was more impressed with it than the first book. Although I thought this book would pick up with Livia’s baby daddy passing out at her door, I was still intrigued with this book. Micah and Anaya take you on a journey that keeps you on your toes and keeps you reading. Characters from book 1 are brought into play, and new characters are introduced. Jen’s take on the paranormal is unique. The story line works with the characters perfectly. She drags you into the book and keeps you reading. You do not want to miss this book.
Anaya Jalloh is a Were-Jaguar and she is the Queen of her people. She is strong and determined. Her only weakness is her husband Micah. She loves him and his child and wants a life with him, but Micah doesn’t want the same. He ignores her and stays away from her as much as possible. Micah is a Were-Jaguar and the husband of Anaya. He lives his life and does for their people in his own way. He was hurt when lies were used to manipulate him. Now she wants her own life, since he wants nothing to do with her. She tells him that he must forgive her or let her go. Can Micah let her go? Does he even want to?
Uniquely Different New Series Continues! This is the 2nd books of this new shifter/fantasy series and it is superb! The author continues with a well-written distinct storyline that while it has its own main characters, does touch on those from book #1 as well as adding some new characters to the mix. Again, the storyline is well thought out and written, with very good dialog and characters that are well-defined, making the book progress quite well. This book is more centered around animal shifters and otherworldly creatures, but it still has a few humans involved in the plot. I want to point out that this book does not have the same issues with typos or grammatical errors found in book #1, which truly allows the reader to enjoy the full extent of this author’s imagination and creative skill. This book is worthy of a notable recommendation and one that I give sincerely. I can guarantee that I will be reading the rest of this series as well as any other books written by this author. Enjoy and Good Reading!
Jaguar Nights : Lies ( Secrets, Lies and Betrayal Series Book 2 )
No spoiler alerts !!! The story continues with the same problems that affect all of the people associated with the "The Council" and what they are to do with who is trying to destroy their people. But, in this story it's so much more... We are taken on a journey, between two people Anaya, has been in love Micah all her life. They have a child together, and he does everything he can to avoid her. As the story folds, we find out why... After many years of finally neglecting her, she finally tells him, she wants to have a life in secret, and when he sees her having fun, does the truth finally open his eyes??? Does he really love her??? With so many twists and turns.. This book kept me on my toes, that I went from book 1 to book 4 without stoping and now an writing my reviews... I highly recommend all her books!!! She is an amazing author, one I definitely will follow!! Keep up the amazing job... After my reviews, I need to start reading the next book!!
This book was a great follow on from the first book. Although you think the next book would pick up from Livia's friend collapsing at the door it doesn't. This book gives us an insight to Anaya Jalloh the Queen of the Were Jaguars and her mate Micah. Anaya always knew that Micah was special and to be her mate but he didn't really want anything to do with the pack. Upon reaching age he left to explore, never accepting that he and Anaya maybe possibly be mates. He finds love with a human on his travels and marries the girl. But after she witnesses Anaya changing and feeling like something is wrong when Micah won't have children she eventually leaves him. Fate always has a way of getting what it wants so eventually he mates with Anaya but he feels he doesn't love her. Anaya has had enough even after having a child things don't seem to change with Micah so she gives him an ultimatum. Will it be enough to fix what is broken???? Would I recommend this book YES
Anaya Jalloh is queen of her people which wouldn't be a problem but her marriage to Micah Jalloh is rocky to say the least. Anaya is tired of being treated badly by Micah she'll no longer stand for his indifference to her. She's moving forward with her life even if it means Micah is no longer part of her life. Micah has always wanted something different with his life and he set about seeking it. Micah prefers to be his own man even though he has a child with Anaya. Will Micah's eyes finally open? Will Anaya move forward? Or will Micah continue to lie to himself? Your answers await you in Jaguar Nights.
This stunning sequel is as action packed as the first book. The characters and story are gritty, raw, real, complex, unique, intriguing, compelling, rich, and bold. I look forward to more from this author in the future.
Another wonderfully written story in a series I find myself looking forward to continuing.
Anaya Jollah is a strong woman who understands what is needed and allows Micah his freedoms, even though it is against their rules. It takes a very strong woman who can allow her soul mate the freedom to discover that his place in life is with her.
Micah and Anaya were best friends in their younger years and he felt he needed to leave to find his life. I found him to be a bit selfish at times but he had a very hard learning curve and happily a realization of what he could lose brings him to his senses.
These two together were great. The backstory really brought their story to life and has me wanting to see where the next book leads us.
4.5 stars and that's only because of the abrupt ending. I don't know what I expected but once again an epilogue would have been nice.
I'm really enjoying this series, although I wonder why this book was the second book instead of the 3rd. Don't get me wrong the development of the characters continue to feel as if you know and really understand them. But, it just seem out of order. With that said, I love Anaya, she is a firecracker, holding down her position as queen, to the fullest! Micah, Micah, Micah... I'm so glad he worked through his forgiveness of HIMSELF! This was a nice read. If your looking for some hot love scenes, with a awesome plot of take over the world while healing from the past, this is the book for you and you will not be disappointed.
Jaguar nights Is about the king and queen of the jaguars as well as the conflict between humans and non humans. It centers around Micah and Anaya's marriage and relationship. Everyone knows it is a strained marriage and that Micah treats Anaya with contempt. In this book we get the background story that brought about the distance. We also find out what happens to the doctor who was heading the testing and containment of the weres. The storyline is very good but we forewarned there is no editing and there were a few points where I had to stop and think about what the author actually meant to say. It would have been so much better otherwise.
Awe Sweet and Sassy bests describes Anaya, tough yet soft. She puts up with such emotionally draining hurt by Micah but holds it all in. Even being his Queen she shows us that love can hurt even the jaguar of her soul. But she has Hope.
Micah is so dang stubborn and really is holding a grudge against Anaya. I just wanted to shake him for his ignorance, ugh. Thank goodness Anaya took a stand, now its up to him to find out fate has been right the whole time.
Great Story. 5 Stars I thoroughly recommend it and look forward to more.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book by its author. Reviewer for Nook Books and More Blog
I am still loving the story. Love ever character and every twist and turns it has shown me. I wanted to bop Micah over the head, to get him to wake up. Glad to see Jinx still with her guy. Livia's window was open to show me a little about her and her dragon man. The story has a nice steady pace as it shows me glimpses of the past as well. I think the story is well written, and keeps pulling me into wanting to know more of the characters stories. Can't wait to read more. Another great part of the story.
Thank you for letting me read another part of the series.
I was really expected the next book to be about Jinx friend Livia. Instead we got taken on a journey to witness the love and hate relationship between Micah and Anaya Joplin the Queen of Were Jaguars. Once again this was entertaining and enjoyable read I love the fact what we still got to see cameos of the previous characters from book one. Can't wait to see what's going to happen next. I voluntarily read and review this ARC I been compensated in any way.
A good second episode in the series. It took me a little while to get into the story with the changing of centuries. After a couple of chapters I got into it and enjoyed it just as the first. The story goes on, new characters are added, it feels like more of a rounded story with an as yet unknown destination. Looking forward to reading more. I do like the mixture of cultures and beliefs in there!
Anaya took a lot like most women when u knew already who and what u wanted in life. She should have made him pay and work hard. He took years of her for granted. Micah was lucky...
This is book two of the Secrets, Lies and Betrayal series and the main characters are Anaya Jalloh, the Queen of the Were-Jaguars, and Micah, her fated mate. The story covers a long period, from their childhood together, when she was out of his league as a Princess, and he was the runt of the litter and always being picked upon. He vowed to get back at those who treated him so badly and always wanted to leave their village and make his own way out in the world of humans. She always talked to him and stuck up for him as they grew up, admiring his good looks and knowing they were fated to be together, from a very early age. She allowed him to leave her and seek happiness in the human world, never believing he would ignore their bond for so long and then completely break her heart when he fell in love with a human woman. When his wife found out what he truly was, it left him heart-broken and believing it was all Anaya’s fault. That she had used lies to manipulate his relationship and forced his wife away. Years later, Anaya and Micha are married and they are now Queen and King of their pack, but the problems of the past have made their marriage one of name only, although they do have a daughter together. He can’t stand to be close to her and tries to make all the decisions about the security of the pack and their move to a new country, as their former lands are being shrunk by human activity and poachers in particular. He lives to fight and spent years fighting for others and the injustices of the coloured in America. Anaya had always been his best friend and he knew she wanted him, but he wanted his own life and love. After decades of this treatment, she finally has enough and gives him and ultimatum. It soon has him rethinking his behaviour towards his wife, something that has been obvious to their whole clan for years. Even his inner jaguar has been forgotten about, as he tried to live in the human world. He will need to forgive her for the accidental event from all those years ago, or he will have to let her go and allow her to find love with another, while still married to him. Whether he can manage the emotions that would come with an open marriage, may finally bring him to his senses. I found some parts of the story a bit hard to follow, as it constantly went back and forth between vastly different dates in the past, to the current day, often. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
This is Anaya who is queen of her tribe and Micah who is her husband eventually in this story but always her longtime friend. This story was good. I am usually not a paranormal fantasy reader. I loved that they could change back and forth and become the animal within them, and it was written out in this story. I am a Jen Durand follower and I usually have these stories written on time, but it took me a little longer to read this story, but it was a good read, and I would recommend this story.

A sci fi story about a royal couple, their love hate relationship with each other and their determination to keep the people of their world safe.
I think I if you enjoy sci fi type stories, you'll like this one. I didnt read the first book in the series, so I'm not sure if it needs to be read before this one. Although I'm not a sci fi fan, it was an interesting read

This series draws you in and holds you captive- and then you wait for the next chapter- except right now there is more than one available to you to read.
A shifter romance with many twists. Mister needs to get over himself and fully embrace his mate, or let her go.
Working through if that is something they want to do, or are able to do, is another set of complications
Intense and reflective, yet filled with plenty of action, emotion and steamy stuff.
Tell no secrets tell no Lies Second book, same as the first. The first one was such a wonderful read, full of sexiness and intrigue. This book will do just the same, and with no place to be, you can settle down for an interesting ride.
I’m just curious enough to actually look forward to seeing more.

I've read a lot of books written by Jen A. Durand; she has done an excellent job at writing a good book; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the characters.

I enjoyed the book. Not your typical were story. Micah a were jaguar who want to live a life of human, far from his responsibilities. Anaya queen of were jaguar who doesn’t wants to stray far from their traditions, will do anything to get her mate Micah. Anything is fair in love and war.

She is ruled and so needs to be strong. He has only even loved one but he has been tricked by them and now things are very difficult for them. Can he forgive her? Will he leave her? Follow them to find out how this will go

The basic storyline is interesting, but not sure of the jumping from different subplots and timelines. It felt jarring and confusing when the characters in that section had not been mentioned before, not what species they were. The writing seemed to be by a foreigner and then translated. Grammatical errors were prevalent, spelling off, homonyms wrongly used.
This entertaining story is about King and Queen of the were-jaguars Micah and Anaya. I enjoyed reading this story and I can not wait to read more from this author.
