A Sequel Definitely Worth Waiting For

Rose B. Mashal has rocked our world once again with White Locks, the sequel to Black Keys. In my mind first and foremost, it is a love story that breaks all barriers and cultures. I was fortunate to be invited to read the ARC of this book. It was everything I had hoped for. We were left with a cliff hanger ending to Black Keys. Readers, have no fear. You will love this one. It is so rich with culture and it brings the story fully round. And yes, there is more to tell, so book three, I anxiously await. White Locks is well written and for a hot minute, you will forget where you are because you will be a princess waiting to be swept off of your feet. Marie is sweet, but lives in the world of business since she has been responsible from a young age. Was she crushed in book one? What decisions will she make? Mazen is every woman's dream. He is beautiful, dashing and noble. He is truly a prince in every sense of the word. Will he and Marie find happiness? Read! You won't be sorry!

When I first read "The Black Keys", my first Rose. B. Mashal book, I admit I was skeptical. The idea of a "Sheikh + american woman romance" seemed too cliché and I began to read this story not expecting great things of it. Boy, was I wrong. While the plot of "The Black Keys" can be considered maybe "classic" because yes, an "Amercian girl" does fall in love with an "handsome Sheikh", there is much more subtlety, plot and depth of characters in this book, which is now one of my favorite. And "White Locks" continued with the same subtlety, the same endearing characters, adding layers to an exceptional story.

In "White Locks", Marie goes back to her beloved Mazen, and after reacquainting themselves in London and , they go back to Mazen's kingdom. But there, both Marie and Mazen have many responsibilities to see to, especially with the illness of Mazen's father, the king. With Princess Talia still a hateful snake, Prince Jasem still a potential threat to the future of the country, Marie and Mazem will have to face several obstacles before being able to enjoy their love to the fullest.

"White locks" is extremely well-written. The characters are still extremely endearing and several scenes are so sweet it made my teeth ache. But what is really interesting in this book is that non character changes overnight. Marie sometimes still struggles with past issues of trust and anxiety and confronted with difficulties and difficult choices we see Mazen and Marie grow up, both in their characters and in their love.

All in, "White Locks" is an amazing book and I can't wait to get my hands on "Golden Chains" !

I waited for Mazen and Marie for so long and I couldn't have been happier to meet with their tale again. Their love is complicated and intense on so many levels. Some might not understand their struggles but it's only because it's over their heads. This story is a new kind of story because it goes beyond love and book romance, it hits right where it needs to and deals with some real subjects.
Of course it's all due to Rose's writing that'll keep you on your toes from beginning to end, whether it's from all the lovely feels these two share or the moments of laughter and silliness and even in the sadness that surrounds the reality of our world.
I can't wait for for the third installment, that teaser gave me all the feels!!!!

White Locks, the 2nd book in the Colorblind Trilogy is written by one of most favourite author/best friend/sister, Rose B. Mashal. I had the honor of reading it before it's release date (perks of being her sidekick)

The first book was amazing, as we all know but the kind of feelings I experienced while reading this book are something I can't quite put in words. It rocked my world, left me begging for more, it made me laugh and it made cry. Oh, did I cry? This is the journey of Marie Archer and Prince Mazen and how they overcome every obstacle in their way. How life tested them at every turn, a Chrisian and Muslim tied in a beautiful and sacred bond yet the society and preacher had their qualms, how the people they trusted the most turned out to be monstrous and evil.

How Mazen dealt with being given such a great responsibility , how Marie turned out to be such an amazing and awe-inspiring character.

There are lessons for all of us in this book about kindness, faith, limits, boundaries, breaking the rules, making laws, pure undiluted love, respect, pain and honor. I learned a lot, I can literally feel everything changing inside me. That's how much I am moved.

I bow before MY queen. You crazy crazy talented girl! Bless you, Rose.

What a great follow up to Black Keys, Colorblind Trilogy. The relationship between Marie and Mazen is frought with differences and danger and many times I feared for both of them. They come from completely different backgrounds and Marie was thrown into the deep end when she returned to Mazen, but step up she did and proved she could be the Wife and future Queen she
would be capable of. Many misunderstandings and fears couldn't keep them apart but there was someone who was trying their best to do just this. I was eagerly awaiting the release of White Locks and read it straight through the moment it was released. Job well done Rose and I must say I will be impatiently waiting for the release of Golden Chains next year.

The wait was worth it! The second book in the Colorblind trilogy made up for the wait. I loved it. Mazen And Marie are great together. If you Haven't read it yet you really need to!! Ms Mashal takes you into their world, and makes you want them to succeed. Mazen is so sweet and he loves Marie with a passion that can't be denied. He would give up everything for her and he shows her everyday. He's there to help her through all her insecurity. He never gives up on her even when he thinks she has given up on him.

White Locks was so worth waiting for. Another amazing g chapter in the lives of Marie and Mazen. I was so lost in this story that I felt like I was right there laughing and crying with these two. I was left in awe and wanting to move on the book #3. Loved it and cannot say enough about the author Rose. Thank you and please don't make us wait too long for next installment.

There are two things about this book to be discussed. 1. The story being told is a 4.5 to 5 star type of story, and 2. The writing style of the author is not yet accomplished.

The story in White Locks is one where the characters are developed strongly, the emotions shown are pure and the plot development points are done superbly. It is hard to imagine becoming a monarch in a culture you don't really understand and at times can't agree with its methods, and yet, to deal with FAMILY in any marriage can be tough - but to do so in a Royal Family we see is tougher. Kudos to Ms. Mashal on her story telling and her guesses at royal messiness.

The writing of Ms. Mashal is tough to swallow. It is in a way simplistic with lots of I's, and it is also cursory in that it tends to ebb and flow between awesome, and flawed.

In the end, though, i would overlook the writing issues and concentrate on the story and pick up this book nearly every time because the story is that strong and enthralling. Can't wait to see what the former queen has been up to (my guess, not a spoiler) in book 3.

As an avid reader I rarely come across a book that gets to my guts, touches my heart and soul as deeply as White Locks did. The story touches aspects of my real life that are sad and they brought the sobs but at the same time the wonderful love and bond between Marie and Mazen flutters my heart so much that the book leaves a warm feeling despite all the challenges and evilness Marie and Mazen meet.

In this story we get to follow especially the growth of Marie from BK's naive, racist and judgemental Marie to a more mature, powerful woman who cares for her people and loved ones. On the other hand we get a more playful Mazen who faces a great challenge but always puts Marie first. I fell in love with him even more, how could I not. Moreover, we get a deeper insight into Islam and Arabic traditions, how love and marriage are seen differently in different cultures and these parts are so wonderfully integrated into the story. I learned so much as a reader from this book and that is really not so common in romance genre. When it comes to the writing style, I can say that Rose has a great talent in describing love and commitment writing sentences that could become classics in cards for weddings and Valentine's Dayl She touches also some controversial topics in White Locks but all this is done in a graceful, non-judgemental manner.

I don't want to describe the plot too much because it would be difficult to avoid spoilers. In every case I can't wait to read book 3 and see how Marie's and Mazen's story continues.

White Locks is the second book of colorblind trilogy, Rose has a unique writing style.

I loved the way Mazen cares about Marie and how he understands her feelings and struggles that she tries to overcome her judgmental thought. They support each other through the hardships. Even though Marie has an emotional struggle she feels hard for Mazen and is confident that he is it for her, and is ready to face whatever life throws their way until Mazen stands by her.

I couldn't wait for 2017 to come faster so that I can have the third book.

This is young adult romance. This is the second book in the Colorblind series. I did not read the first book and was missing some of the details but was not lost completely in the book. But I advise readers to read the books in order. Marie has such a tender heart and I love her compassion for people. Mazen is confusing at times, he wants Marie to be open with him but he is not the same with her. But I really admire the dedication to family in this story. But the father really makes me so angry. UGH "change the sheets" you have to read the story to find out what I am talking about.

Marie has to let go of the past in order to fix her broken heart, and the only fix is Mazen. She tried to listen to him and forget him but it didn't work. She can no longer deny it. So she went back to the kingdom to find him, but he wasn't there. She walked into some responsibilities and took care of them as a princess should, surprised she handled the situation well. She is encouraged that she has made the right decision to go find her heart.

Favorite passages:
"Home is where her Love is."
"Love make you smile."
"Are you asking me if I want my soul returned to me, Princess?"
"And my heart was drowning in the sweetness that was pouring out of him."

It was said that if you hold a book and from the second you start it you know you won't put it down that means it captivated you. This, not only captivated me but also i was mind blown from page 1 till the very last word. I was expecting something good because i have read black keys but i was surprised to find it so so so good it blows your mind, and no i am not exaggerating, i may be not a book critic but i know my books. the one that calls to me and that i re-read more times than i can count and this is definitely one of them. it takes you to a journey with every single character. you "watch" them grow and be even better "in there own way" and it takes you on a roller coaster of emotions, in a chapter you want to swoon and melt and in the other you want to sob and sing those were the days my friend. i think enough have been said even though i probably can write ten pages on what i find fascinating about marie and mazen but i will leave that to you guys, the ones who knows a master piece when it's miles away from them.

Ok I'm new at this review thing, but I'll make one because this book definitely deserves a good one!! I just loved White Locks, it made me feel so damn much! My feelings where all over the place, I just couldn't grab all of them at the same time and process them! But at the end it made me feel happy and a why not mad because I'll have to wait one year to read a new chapter of Mazen and Marie, they are just perfect and with every page that I've read my feelings for them grew and grew! So yeah! I'll definitely recommend this book!
I've fallen in love with the way Rose writes, she has this way of making you feel everything her characters are feeling even though is only told by the POV of Marie.
Give her a chance! She deserves it! Read her books because she is truly awesome!

I absolutely loved this series.
Great books have to be 90%+ believable as I cannot relate to characters that are clueless about obvious attraction. I love for characters to earn love, not simply for good looks.

Black Keys & White Locks has it all, mystery, great love, some steamy love scenes, and deceit.

I truly appreciate how the author educated me about Islam as I too fell victim to fearing people because of the way our media portrays them as a whole. I am a Christian and I try to seek understanding in everyone so that I can love as I am instructed by God to do.

I can hardly wait for book 3- *sigh*

Prince Mazen and Maire's story continues. Lord I could not stop reading this story. Marie finally realises that she loves Mazen and that home is wherever he is.

OMG the twists and turns are too many to talk about and when the truth is revealed about why Prince Rosanna has been losing her babies, it left me with my mouth hanging open.

This is an excellent series and I cannot wait for book 3 to come out. I would definitely recommend this story.

White Locks This second book wasn't as good as the first book and there were some problems with it. It's an Indie production, and it needs another go through by its proofreader in one section. But mostly it simply wasn't as well done as the first book. I'm getting a bit tired of Marie's hysterics. The third book isn't out until 2017, and I probably won't read it, as the characters are all predicting doom and gloom. Not an encouraging forecast.

WoW I really love this series!
Above all, the cultural setting is amazing to me, the traditions, the different way of thinking, of dealing with things is just so interesting to me. Royalty and religion makes everything intense in these books, creating problematics for the characters that are very specific but that paradoxically you understand and make you feel all the emotions along with the characters!
Mazen is a wonderful MC, he is sensitive and strong at the same time, manly and virtuous
Marie is a good character, though less fascinating than Mazen, she still surprises me every now and then with her strength, her wise words and her outbursts (I love seeing her jealous side, she was very enjoyable as a possessive fighter and less naïve and Mary Sue as she seems sometimes)

I'm missing them and the atmosphere the story brings already :( I hope the wait for the last book will be over soon, I'm on the edge of my seat !! (Though I will be sad when the series will be over too lol)

This was what I hoped it would be. When Black Keys left us on that cliffhanger, I was desperate to read this one. And it was awesome.

I love that this series focuses so much on understanding and acceptance. Marie, as a white Catholic American, has been raised with a certain idea of what it means to be an Arab Muslim. Basically, it equals "terrorist." Then she meets Mazen, who flips every prejudice she had on its head. One of my favorite things about this entire series is how educational it is about the Arab and Muslim cultures. Having been raised in a similar fashion to Marie, I understood where she was coming from (even if I didn't agree with it) and it was just fabulous to see her thrown into this world she didn't understand.

I still adore these characters. Marie is far from perfect. She's judgmental and emotional, which causes her to overreact a lot. She jumps to conclusions. But she's also determined and forceful, getting what she wants, especially if it benefits someone else. She's very giving and intelligent. But my favorite is always Mazen, the responsible and caring, quiet and patient, kind and selfless Mazen. This dude is everything I want in a man. He's not one of the alpha-male types, but it would be foolish to cross him. He lets Marie do what she wants as long as she comes home to him. It very much feels like a healthy and balanced relationship, unlike many others I read in romance novels.

The plot of this definitely swings all over the place. It's romantic and dramatic, suspenseful and surprising, sweet and sad. I like that it read more like a life story this time than the very short timeline the previous book had. This one covers I think at least 1.5 years.

This was so good. I've very interested to see where the next books takes them.

Marie and Mazen had a rough start. Marie still has a lot to learn about Mazen’s culture but one thing she need to remember is how he feels for her. Once things take a drastic change in the kingdom Marie and Mazen have to learn together how to communicate and stick together.

As good as the first book was, there was no way I could pass up the second!
Honestly, it was a bit mushy and unbelievable to me at times. However the overall story and ending were great. I hate to admit that that kind of deception is even possible. It's heartbreaking.
I will look forward to the third installment!

White Locks was a fantastic follow-up book to Black Keys. Black Keys must be read first. I enjoyed this book as much as I did the first book and love Mazen's character even more, if that is even possible. Marie grew up a little in this book but I'm definitely hoping to see less tears in the final book. She got her revenge when it came to her brother Joseph. There were a few unexpected surprises and events that I didn't see coming, especially with Jasem and Talia. This book had its tragic, passionate and sweet moments and it ended on a sweet note. However, that one line for the third book will leave your mind blown. I can't wait to read the final book in this series.
