A huge goldmine of art and text here. It feels strangely inadequate as it encompasses art from ancient Egypt through modern times, from all around the globe. Just when I see something I’d like to explore in depth, the subject matter changes.

You can barely get a feel for what you might truly like per the staggering amount of historical time encompassing these pages.

Nearly 600 pages and an almost a square foot area per page.

Beautiful! Although it's a little outdated (it was published in 1980), this book was a great trip down Memory Lane. During the six and a half years we lived in NYC, my husband and I spent many, many weekends basking in the glories of the museum, and it was so much fun to see many familiar, amazing objects again. I hope we get back there again someday!
