Former detective agent, Alexa Kyndall, has been called in to help with a murder mystery that has similarities to a case that is all too familiar to her. As events unfold, it appears that a former stalker has reemerged, putting Alexa on edge. Meanwhile, a handsome and caring man has entered her life and is trying to keep her safe.

I think fans of romantic suspense will enjoy this book. There is minimal violence if you are a squeamish, yet plenty of romantic situations.

Did I read the same book that everyone else did?

WARNING! This review contains spoilers!

I have never given a review quite like I'm about to give, but then again, I have never read a book quite as bad as this one. Let's start with the most painful aspect of this book, the editing, or shall I say the lack there of. I have to wonder if the book was even edited. There were so many grammatical errors it was distracting.

Heart-throbbing suspense!

Dragon's Staircase is a heart-stopping non-stop thrilling suspense. A must to read if you love thriller suspense with a romantic touch! It's very well written, by McKenna Grey and new-to-me author Everly Archard! The authors have nicely intertwined their charming characters, Alexa and Craig into a captivating thriller. Beware, you won't be able to put it down! Got captivated from the first page until the very end! Alexa, is riveting in the role of an ex FBI agent! This

I'm really confused by all the good reviews. The book was a quick read and the plot itself was okay, but in my opinion, the editing of this book was horrible. Mistakes in grammar and punctuation, as well as inconsistencies in the story. For example, Alexa takes her brother's car from the police station and meets him there the next morning, pulling up next to his car (that she supposedly took the previous night). A cell was out of range yet somehow the user could "see" that a call was missed. The ...more

A heart-rending, mind-bending and explosive beginning to the Kyndall Family Thrillers. The story starts from the get go at a deadly pace, leaving no time to catch one's breath. Alexa and Craig, quickly forming a bond amidst the stress and tension, are thrown together to solve a crime. Like-minded, they combine their abilities to unearth clues that will lead to the killer's or killers' identity. I wanted more...a longer story. The mystery was over before I had a chance to gather the information a ...more

This first book in the Kyndall Family Thrillers grabs you and doesn’t let go until you reach the last page. And even then, it leaves you wanting more. This is a fast-paced read that leads you on many twists and turns. Just when I thought I had it figured out, Grey and Archard would take another fork in the road leaving me almost breathless. The Kyndall brothers watch over sister Alexa, but sparks fly as soon as Craig enters the picture and very quickly she has a fourth great looking hunk looking ...more

This book was described as a fast paced romantic murder mystery. The two people hunting down the serial killer are Alexa, and Craig. The killer was crazy, and the editing in the book made you constantly stop, and back track for clarification. Simple mistakes on vehicles, eating, clearing dishes, yet still eating again. This type of,writing with poor editing, and poor grammar, kept the story from being cohesive. I finished it, but I can't say that I stuck with it, in one setting, or even two. Thr ...more

The thrilling aspect of this book was impressive and unexpected. The mystery wasn’t off either. The story did a good job of stringing me along through many twists and turns before it revealed its secrets. I wanted to give this book four stars, but it took me more chapters than I like to get into the story. However, in saying that, once it got going for me, I had a hard time putting it down. I also wasn’t very fond of the characters. I found them predictable and uninteresting which played against ...more

Alexa Kyndall's story

Good book. Did not want to put it down. It would make a great episode of Criminal Minds, maybe a two parter. liked all the characters. W wondered if the brother's were wealthy with all the flying from and to Alaska when she ended up in the hospital. I am hoping as each new book comes out that Alexa's story gets updated. I wonder if they will marry as this story ends with moving in together. Also wonder if her parents were murdered and if that will come out and why. Also hope

So from the first this tale ensnares the reader from the first page and keeps one reading to seen what is going to happen next. Really enjoyed the characters and family interactions . Find a comfortable seat and settle in to read because you won't be able to guess what happens. Can't wait for the next books about this family

I found this book at the perfect time because I have really been into thrillers lately. I love the intense feeling of not knowing what is going to happen! I also have a weakness for police thrillers. Weird.

Overall I liked the plot line but I wish it was a little deeper, to really bring the suspense to life. There were a few grammatical errors at the beginning that made it a little hard to get into the story but those are simple fixes.

I think that overall the story was definitely worth reading, w
