I loved these stories! Sometimes the telling came across kind of, well, not very fluid. It would be hard to get lost in a story that was told in such a bullet-point type style. However! The stories themselves are so interesting, it makes me want to find books about the various people and times, to learn more.

Newspaper columnist Emmett Watson takes us behind the scenes and into the past of the city he loves.

The result is an amazing collection of little known facts and people we have never heard of. But we are richer for getting to now then!

Great stories, all of them. As a Seattle native, I grew up reading Mr. Watson's column, and mourned his passing as much as anyone. I have to wonder what he would think of the Seattle of today.

Aside from the great stories, the bigger message I took away is this: never forget who you are, or where you came from.
