This is abuse.
He was a ball of fury once he threw her across the bed and tore her shorts down her thighs. She laid there in between sexual heat and stark fear as he tore his shirt off over his head, kicked off his shoes, and lost his jeans. Kyle wasn’t in the mood for softness. She’d gone too fucking far this time. He didn’t even give her a cursory finger along her slit to test her readiness, just spread her legs, palmed his cock and drove home.
That scream she’d been hiding behind her teeth was finally set free.
“You don’t want this? Huh? Is that what you’re saying to me?” He slammed into her body hard, lifting her back off the bed with the force of his thrusts. The frames on the walls rattled as he plowed into her like a madman.
When a man threatens to put hands on you in anger...it's time to pack up. That's not love.

“You with me?” She barely had the strength to nod yes before he lifted her ass in his hands and still with their eyes locked, poured his life essence deep inside her. That ought to put paid to that motherfucker sniffing around what’s mine. That was his thought as he shook his cock off inside her.
This is not romance. This makes me sad for all the young women who might be reading this and thinking, "Oh, if my man treats me this way he really loves me."
So incredibly sad.
I don't know why I keep trying with this author.
BTW- I forgot to also mention the spelling and grammar are atrocious! So bad. Seriously. Put-on-your-blinders-within-the-first-paragraph-bad if you're going to read this.

A sexy hot pleasant read.
After being betrayed by her husband of ten years and her gold digger homewrecker of a best friend, Kerryanne (Kerry) Lashley is hiding and trying hard to find the energy to get up and get moving. She’s hurting, fighting the depression that shrouds her mind, feeling alone and so completely broken. Trying to escape her own misery and the deep gut wrenching pain that seeped through her very pores since her divorce, she decides one day it was time to overcome her fears and to start living again.
Kyle Clancy is in town only to get his recently widowed Grandpa to move to Chicago with him. He’s in no way looking for entanglements of the romantic kind. No matter the circumstances, for him it is a big no-no. One fateful encounter with gorgeous Kerry and Kyle knows he'll stop at nothing to have her. He’s determined to help her and to protect her from everything and everyone else. But who was going to protect her from him?
Unlike other Jordan Silver's books, this one has a slow build-up and too many inner monologues going on for my liking. The story starts off with the heroine’s spirit broken because of all that she's been through. I get that she was having a hard time getting her life on track despite her bruised soul. But was it really necessary to make almost an entire chapter describing Kerry’s inner thoughts? I would say NO. Also the h got on my nerves at times, falling apart every time something from her past came up. she was so weak while facing her ex and his catty and vindicative new wife, It could have been great to have her getting a backbone in this moment.
Overall, Kerry and Kyle’s love story was great. I enjoyed the passion and fire between them which was intense and scorching hot. I also liked Kyle and his OTT possessive and protective nature and the way he freed her somehow, with his impatience and hardheadedness. How he made her feel loved, cherished and strong too.
I also have to say that there is a sweet epilogue that gave me a few chuckles with the whole delivery situation…

After the fiasco of the last Seal Team 7 book by this author, I wasn't really sure WHAT is was getting myself into with this one. Luckily, this turned out to be a solid 4 star read for.
Kerry was a REALLY well written heroine. Her pain and anguish over what she went through was VERY realistic. People just don't get over that type of betrayal. That said, not once while reading this did I feel that she was still "hung-up" on her ex. Upset, and gutted over the way her marriage ended and how her ex treated her, yes, but she never once wanted him back.
Kyle was a great hero. Maybe a TAD bit lower on the OTT type usual for this author. A couple times I thought he might be bipolar. Especially that scene at the lake, and the way her spoke to her a couple times was a little "WTF" to me. But I LOATHE when a hero or heroine tells the other to "shut-up" Overall though he was a fantastic, loving, and loyal hero.
Overall the plot flowed nicely. It did drag a little in a couple of places. I also though Kerry's ex and his new wife came off a bit like cartoon villains at times.. The gossipy old timers were a hoot though, and it had a really sweet epilogue (though I would have enjoyed a farther into the future look). Oh and the fact that she

June 21, 2016I'm actually only at 85% but I'm marking it as done because I know I won't be rating it. I've used my pink highlighter so much (I hate pink so I use it to highlight grammar/spelling/overall errors) that the damn thing looks like it's been hosed in psychomagnotheric slime. I'm hooked on the story but there's either an absurd amount of commas or a complete LACK of commas. Then we have random unnecessary hyphens and basic misspellings, i.e.:
"But the worse, the worse were the court battles."
"He hadn't been idol the past two weeks."
and my personal favorite,
"That's her ammo did she tell you that?"
M.O. (noun): "The abbreviation for the Latin phrase 'Modus Operandi'. A particular way or method of doing something, especially one that is characteristic or well established."
But like I said, damned if the story, the MMC's alpha behavior and the thought of those assholes getting what's coming to them isn't keeping me hooked! So I'm gathering all my pink slime and emailing the author when I'm done to ask if she wants a new beta reader. She may tell me to to go to hell but whatevs.

This had a different feel than most Jordan Silver books that I've read. It had more of a storyline than some previous books. Kyle is visiting his Grandpa, trying to get him to move to Chicago. Kerryanne is trying to regroup after going through a terrible betrayal and divorce. Even though it was the last thing he was looking for, Kyle knows he'll stop at nothing to have her. I really thought Kyle was a great alpha H. He was really patient with Kerryanne, trying to help her work through her issues. The H had never been married and there isn't much talk about his sexual history. Kerryanne had been married to a major jerk. No cheating, no ow/om drama, great alpha H, sizzling hot sex scenes (think of words like breeding and cockmeat) and a HEA (all the things we look for in a Jordan Silver book) I will say the first half of the book was slow for me. The highlight of the book was an adorable epilogue. I love a great epilogue!
* also I was disappointed that this wasn't on kindle unlimited like her other books!

Hmmm... The last few Jordan Silver books haven't really been winners for me. This book was okay, but didn't really leave a huge lasting impression on me.
This book has a very slow start. It takes a while to really get into the story.
My main problem was the lack of dialogue, we hear the thoughts of the heroine and hero sooo much. The whole first chapter was the heroine's woe is me inner dialogue on how horrible life is.
I understand that Kerryannne was wronged and hurt but she mentioned and thought about her ex sooo much. Not sure why she kept answering his calls either.
Loved Kyle, he was such a sexy, and caring character! He was so patient, and dealt with all of Kerryanne's hesitancy and issues with relationships. I really enjoyed the last half of the book when things started picking up a bit.

I had been waiting for this Jordan Silver book for a while and, unfortunately, like Cord this was also a disappointment. Though I gave this one a slightly better rating than Cord since the story was a little bit better. I think what got me was that the book cost $4.99 when usually her stuff is published on KU. I'm not sure what the change is and though I like this story I didn't think it was worth $4.99

JS’s books are a hit or miss for me not that I've read that many. So, I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one. I freaking loved it.
Kerryanne is in a bad place. I’m not going to lie. The first chapter is rough. I was hoping it was not setting the tone for the whole book. Kerry is really down and I could feel her despair. It was heartbreaking. But then she decides to pick herself up a little at a time. All this before she meets Kyle. But when she meets Kyle she starts to come out of her shell all the more. She mourned for the life she thought she would have. I never felt she was mourning her actual husband just what she had pictured how her life would go. But I have to say, the way the ex and bff treated her was way OTT ridiculous. Who the hell walks away from a divorce with just the clothes on their backs?
Kyle was a wonderful hero. I loved how patient he was with Kerry but also pushed her along to be who he knew she could be. Oh, believe me, he is still that typical JS hero you love or hate or love to hate. He still has that mine mentality I love and he is way OTT with Kerry. But he also loves her with all his heart and soul. It may have taken him a bit to come to that realization but once he does he is all in 100%.
One of my favorite things was the meddling older people of the town. I love how they pushed the two together and were all about the gossiping.
This book checked all my boxes for a great read. To me, it was romance at its finest. The writing was way better than some others of JS’s I’ve read too. And of course, the cover is smoking hot!

Well… not a great way to kick off 2024, but hopefully this isn’t a precursor to things to come. I always start the new year feeling a bit overwhelmed from all the traveling/festivities, so I wanted to start with something easy… and I decided that this is the year I’m cleaning out my Kindle TBR’s I’ve acquired over the years… at least 100 of them.
I knew early on that this wasn’t going to be a great fit and would’ve DNF’ed it, but I bought it a few years back and forced myself to finish.
Kerryanne is an orphan that grew up with her childhood love Paul. The two married, and Kerryanne supported him through medical school only for him to dump her for her BFF Jenny and screw her out of any marital assets. She’s given up on love when she runs into Kyle, the sexy bad boy biker that also happens to be a CEO billionaire.
Here were my main issues…
❌ The format is super choppy with short half pages of text.
❌ The beginning is SUPER boring with pages and pages and pages of the h WALLOWING in misery because her husband dumped her. It’s VERY overdramatic and EXTREMELY repetitive.
But this, this felt different as she got to her hands and knees. The pain was like a weight pressing down on her, forcing her into the cold hard floor, draining what strength she had left.
She clawed at the floor as she tried to escape her own misery. The pain was like a live thing in her gut as she cried her heart out there on the cold stone floor.
The betrayal had been almost crippling.
There was a cloud hanging over her then.
Some days that cloud felt more like it was going to strangle her.
If only she could find the strength to fight, but sadly she had nothing left. She’d been well and truly gutted.
She was left an empty shell of nothing.
It’s oversold going on and on with nothing else happening.
❌ The mc’s were boring. Kerryanne was such a mushy, limp noodle with no self-confidence, and Kyle was lacking the alpha caveman/besotted fool thing her H’s usually rock. He came off more Alpha-hole and was kind of a dick.
❌ The plot was dull with nothing going on. The mc’s had no spark or personality. The ex-hubs and ex-BFF generated zero drama. It took 14 chapters for any smut, and this H only had 10 inches as opposed to her 12 and 14 standard. This was a comment about the OW/OM but pretty much sums it up.
Dealing with these two was like watching paint dry. They had no substance, and barely seemed to share half a damn brain between them.
Bottom Line- The most boring J.S. book I’ve ever read.

"Broken" is the story of Kerryanne and Kyle.
The books starts as a ballad of misery of a dejected woman.
Our heroine is utterly heartbroken by the betrayal of her husband who dumped her ruthlessly, taking away everything after cheating on her with her ex best friend- mentally traumatizing her so much that she's almost contemplated suicide, has gotten a restraining order from them and spends days isolating herself and weeping.
When one fine day, she decides to get over her misery and finally go out to the world, she ends up meeting Kyle, who's there in town to meet his grandfather.
Instant lust happens between the two, and as skittish Kerry is, Kyle is controlling and possessive, even more after learning Kerry's true life story.
The story can be divided into first and second half, negatives and positives.
The first half has a beautiful, yet gut wrenching pain of a broken woman and her want to do more. The hero is then introduced as her knight in shining armor, who comes to illuminate her dark life. This part is well written, is very not Jordan-ish and even has a lovely cover.
The second half is more the Silver trademark, loads of happy fucking, angry fucking, anal fucking, doggy style fucking and womb bruising by a GIANT dong. There is conniving elders, shitty scheming exes, a spineless and easily dominated heroine and a overpowering hero.
The positives
-The heroine working on her life goal of writing in the first half of the book
-Their elders reminiscing about their late spouses was heartwarming
-I appreciate that in later JS books, the heroes are now allowing the heroine to breathe after they meet before banging and impeaching her cervix to breed
The negatives
-The heroine kinda being hung up on ex and not giving him the piece of her mind every time he harassed her. Also, the hero had to come and rescue the heroine every time someone catty came around, instead of her defending herself.
-The sudden change in POVs between multiple characters without warning
-The typos and obvious errors like "post mortem depression" instead of post partum
-The whole ignorance of medical science-
Overall, the giant medical miracle *cough* disillusion in the end made me remove a star. Otherwise this was enjoyable in parts.

It has been a while since I really enjoyed a JS book. This was a pleasant surprise and much needed read. I have been in the worse slump and this helped big time. I really enjoyed the story and the characters. It was low angst and insta love and really lifted the slump I have been in.

Drowning in sorrow, Kerryanne Lashley is trying to find a reason to go on. Her husband, who she supported, for ten years dumped her for her supposed best friend. Living in a small town only adds to the betrayal as no one stood by her when her life unfolded. Deciding it was time to start living again, Kerryanne ventures out only to bump in directly to Kyle Clancy.
Kyle is in town to get his recently widowed grandfather to move to Chicago with him, it is push and pull but Kyle wants to get back to his life. Meeting Kerryanne he sees an innocence and a broken woman, while Kyle is not a player he is also not the settling down type. However the more time he spends trying to help Kerryanne heal, the more he falls hard for Kerryanne deciding he cannot give her up. I liked this quite a bit, Kerryanne is a woman ho is hurt but not necessarily for why you would think. Kerryanne is a deep thinker but I liked this part of her, Kyle gets frustrated sometimes with not being able to read her mind but his love for her shows on every page. Another great Jordan Silver read.

Meeting Kerryanne he sees an innocence and a broken woman, while Kyle is not a player he is also not the settling down type. However the more time he spends trying to help Kerryanne heal, the more he falls hard for Kerryanne deciding he cannot give her up. This book was ok. There were many aspects I liked but a lot I didn't. It all boils down to the heroine(Kerry). At first I felt so bad for her, felt her pain, understood her feelings of confusion and emptiness but then after awhile when we start to learn more about her marriage and the type of husband he was, I was like why?!! Why are you wasting away life still pinning over this prick?
Kyle hits it head on when he tells her she's just upset about the time invested in the relationship rather than losing her actual husband. I could go with that, but throughout the whole book until the very end it's just Kerry still hurting over her POS loser husband and feeling sorry for herself. JS dragged those emotions on for so long I lost the connection between H/h. I felt Kerry was just using Kyle as a rebound and didn't truly love him. It was so annoying. I really felt confused if she still loved her ex and wanted him back or if she did feel something for Kyle.
I really just kept reading the book because Kyle was awesome. I loved his possessiveness, man handling, alpha hot self. I could have loved the book had Kerry stopped her stupidness half way and just told her ex to kick rocks. Oh well. It is, what it is.

I can only hope that budding fiction writer Kerry is more accomplished than her creator Jordan. Ms. Silver seems to have no grasp of basic English- including punctuation, grammar and spelling. Atrocious faults include not using ammo for MO, mold for mould, not differentiating reign vs rein and so on. Plus, what the f*** is post-mortem depression. She also abuses the dash as some sort of writing miracle that cannot be misused. Had she just researched it (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dash) she might have understood her error within the introductory paragraph. What I have noticed is that writers such as these are just repeating and being repeated by other "self-published" writers. I can only hope that no one in her fan base would ever be inspired to continue the trend of mangling the English language.

This book to me seemed like a bit of a new Jordan Silver. The H was still an alpha but not quite as OTT as her others. He was more understanding and patient. He knew the h needed this from him and gave it. He still steamrolled into her life but didn't push too far too fast. Loved the secondary characters as well. I was glad to see her ex and his wife get what was coming to them. I don't think the h was so much sorry about losing her ex as she was being alone in the world again and mourning a life she thought she'd have. Lucky for her she got a better life out of it. I love that JS books always have a great epilogue with marriage and babies. That always makes a great read for me.

Kerry has been done wrong by her husband of 10 years and all her friends. She's spent the last few months hiding in a grubby apartment, left with next to nothing.
Enter her neighbour's grandson, Kyle with his tattoos and motorcycle. He thinks nothing of her at first, until he bumps into her outside the building. Helpless to her appeal, he fights at first, but then becomes your typical devoted neanderthal a-la-Ms-Silver, Hero.
Little do the self-proclaimed town royalty know the sh*t storm that awaits them!
Nice little tale of sweet come-uppence and healing.
At first I wondered if the author had changed her MO, there was so little swearing. But by half way the games began! As usual, could probably be 1/3 less the length. I did skim the sex scenes as I don't find them romantic.
I enjoyed this more than most of the books i've read by this author. It was more sensitive to the h's plight which forced the H to be more patient!

Broken...DNF
Such a boring book.
OMG the characters really got on my nerves. They didn't know what the hell they wanted. It took me 2 days to get to 50 % and I gave up. Too damn depressing for my taste.

Very Mills-and-Boon-ish with the heartbreak, instalove, revenge and HEA, but after the initial rollercoaster of emotions from both main characters, I enjoyed it.

Who wrote this?
I pre-ordered this book, (its Jordan Silver so, duh!) and it took me this long to finish it. Good thing I finally did, because I was running out of steam. Coincidentally, this book was severely lacking in it as well.
That's not me. If I have a Jordan Silver book in my Kindle laden hands, you wouldn't be able to pry that thing away from me with a crow bar.
This time though? *sigh*
It was boring, repetitive and way, WAY too angst-y for my taste. For an author who claims not to like angst, this book was 90% stuffed with it.
Actually, if Jordan Silver's name hadn't been on the delicious-looking book cover, I'd never had known it was her book.
Seriously, it isn't her style at all.
When I pick up her books I know I'm in for 3 things.
1: Hot and Heavy content
2. Delicious, crazy alpha males
3. A hold onto your panties, fast-paced romance that makes your toes curl and time fly by.
We get none of that here.
I'm going to explain myself, so there will be SPOILERS!!......
Sure, Kyle is an alpha male, but then again he isn't. He spends the first half of the book angry at her because he blames her for his unexplainable attraction to her. He keeps asking himself, "Why?"
Why does he like her? She's obviously broken and he admits he has no interest in her story at all. He doesn't care what happened to her. He doesn't have time for all her baggage. He spends the first 50% of the book unsure about her.
He even has to call his Mother for her approval.
What?!? If a guy I was dating needed to do this, I'd be out the door in a flash.
Come on. You know we all would.
So, after mommy dearest gives him the "A-OK" (phew!, lucky Kerry!) He decides it's time to finally claim "what's kinda-sorta his"
But WAIT! *gasp!*
First he needs to show her what HORRIBLE people her ex and his new wife are!
(dun, dun, duuuun)
And how does he do this? By taking her to dinner and letting them spew nasty words all over her as she cowers in fear at her booth.
Sure, he stands in front of her, but he LETS them say hurtful, ugly things. Never stops them, never interrupts them.
Why? Because apparently, she needed to hear all of this so she'd understands how horrible they really are.
Yeaaah..... because she didn't know this already?
Honestly, I hated that scene so much, I almost put my kindle down.

In the beginning, my heart broke for Kerryanne. I felt pain for all she had been through. Jordan Silver did an amazing job in pulling on my heart strings. But she should have left it at that.
Instead, she drags us through it over and over and over again, until it became way too much.
I know in a few of her other books, she's had a tendency to kinda do this, but I didn't care because I LOVED the stories!
Here though, it's magnified ten-fold.
I recommend this book if you're looking for heartbreaking drama, a girl that finally (emphasis on finally) gets her revenge, and a longer JS book.
(In all actuality though, the book may have been longer than usual, but the story wasn't if you took away all of the repetitive information.)
I love Jordan Silver. I have every book she's ever written. She's my guilty pleasure. The author I turn to when I want a sure thing. But after Cord, and now this, I'm just not sure what's going on with her. I'm crossing my fingers that she'll move back to giving awesome stories with drool-worthy alpha males that make my heart swoon.

I loved this book it was very fun and entertaining although the editing was awful it was still good my one complain was that the hero and heroine didn't really communicate that much but there wasn't any big misunderstandings so it was alright I took 1 🌟 off because of the editing

DNF 11%. Don't know why I was thinking this book would be better than the last book I read by this author (prob because the high rating, tho can't for life of me comprehend). It is all internal dialogue. No more from this author!!!!

First of all I just want to say the story had me gripped from the start. Kerryann’s sadness and heartbreak in the beginning few pages was palpable. I loved reading her going through the motions, it really set the scene for the rest of the book.
I however felt conflicted by the MMC, Kyle. I didn’t actually like him, well not until the last quarter of the book. At times he spoke to Kerry like a piece of sh!t and berated her for her feelings, and then on the next page he was very sweet with his words towards her and was determined on building up her confidence. I was having whiplash.
Creating a possessive alpha male character can be tricky, there is a fine line that should not be crossed. The author's intention might have been to portray a strong and dominant lead, but unfortunately, it veered into negative, controlling and abusive territory. It’s a shame as he was very sweet at times, but his language used and the way he spoke down to her was atrocious….
“I’m not gonna put up with any of your shit.”
“Don’t talk back to me.”
As a reader, I understand that certain genres, like dark or bully-themed books, may contain characters with aggressive traits. In those books we are prepared for what we are reading. However, in this instance, the behavior of Kyle made me really dislike his personality. So many times I felt like I wanted to defend Kerry and I was hyper aware of her responses to him, e.g. “She was also feeling pretty good since Kyle was still being extra sweet to her this morning”. This sentence alone wouldn’t normally raise a red flag, but seeing as he’d said quite a few derogatory words towards her and she had previously mentioned she’d wondered what mood he would be in today, made me wary and alert to how he was speaking to her. His previous words turned a seemingly sweet comment into her being on edge about his mood that day and how she should behave around him. He often talked down to her, tells her to shut up when she tries to explain her feelings. There’s a difference between the possessive “alpha-a-hole-ness” that some of us readers love, than to actually berate her and talk down to her. At times it completely fell on the wrong side of the line. It’s a shame, as a lot of the time he was very sweet, supportive, and even though possessive, he wanted the best for her. The way he spoke down to her though made him seem controlling and he used sex to make her submit to him.
I did on the whole, enjoy the book. I can’t even touch on the “surprises” at the end of the book…that wasn’t believable at all (I’ve got multiples myself). Early or not, there was no way they wouldn’t have known.
There were some grammatical errors, and at times it was hard to gauge who was actually talking in the dialogue written
