Not much more to say on this one than already said about book 1 - old skool BESM 80's style art harping back to Bastard!! and Slayers. Interesting hybrid of Medieval fantasy and giant mechs. Love the villain Dilandau and we get a flashback into his past and how he committed matricide. Some nudity in this one and very skimpy costumes/armour, which while it made me role my eyes, is very much in keeping with this style of manga.

Quite enjoying this series.

Compared to the first volume the writing is much better and consistent. The art is decent but gets kind of messy with the battles between the mecha.
In this volume Hitomi learns a bit more about what she can do with her abilities and a bit more about the Energist power.
Prince Van is still his stubborn and arrogant self and is still focused on his quest to save his mother, Escalina.
A new character gets introduced in this volume,Shian, and she has a special mad on for Van.
Now on to volume 3!

I'm surprised that I'm enjoying this series as much as I am. Everything that I read from people who enjoy the anime was that the books were terrible. So long as you don't think about the anime while reading these it's really good. I will definitely be continuing this series.

I watched the anime series before I read the manga and there are definitely some differences and the manga was pervier than the anime. Plotwise, if I recall correctly, differ greatly. I didn't finish the whole manga series so I would probably go back and re-read it sometime.

I'm glad I only have two volumes. This was already getting tiresome.

I was very disappointed in this volume. I'm collecting it piecemeal, when I can find it, so I only read a synopsis on issue 1, but I don't think that that's the problem. I also know the anime (though watched it 20 years ago), and this is different - but again, that's not the problem. I think the drawing style is confusing with jumbled drawings and confusing tones. The female characters are also drawn for male audiences and without considering if the clothes are at all plausible or comfortable. I had issues 3 and 4, but I might sell them back to the used book store instead of read them.

I'm liking this series more, and more. Even though it's not following the anime very much, I get the same feeling I get when I watch the show.
And enough with the nude shots Katsu Aki. We already know you can draw naked people from Futari H!

More action and adventure. We see some great new locations and characters.
This volume has more profanity and nudity than the last book.
